Round 4 of Crossover mafia was fun and a big refresher for Mimic and Shapeclaw.FAK. Even the plot bunnies had so much fun partaking in some of the mayhem. They gave Shapeclaw.FAK their best puppy eyes shortly after the prior game had ended. "What's wrong with you lot?"

A message came up in one of Mimic's documents that she could read:

Do it again, PLEASE!!!!

"I think the plot bunnies want us to play Mafia again, Shapeclaw."
"So soon?! Don't the players have things in their life to worry about? Even you?"
"I'm not busy right now, so I see no harm in it."

"Okay, then. I could always use the mayhem," the fan-netnavi copy shrugged. Every plot bunny in Mimic's screen view cheered, throwing confetti and making all kinds of party noises around an unamused Shapeclaw.FAK. "Let's get going."

Considering that the hosting duo are trying something new again, they are tweaking the rules to cover the basis.

RULES


1. Mafia is a game of deception. Don't take events in the game personally! People will die and be betrayed, yadda yadda. Expect it.
2. Ghosts (dead players) can post in the game thread but should not attempt to influence the course of the game whatsoever. This means no participating in discussions once you have died. Making quick jokes or posting gifs are fine but don’t help either team solve anything in or out of the game! 3. You are welcome to RP as your chosen character, as your alignment will not be connected in any way! In this game, Evil characters can be rolled Town and Heroes can get rolled Mafia. Don’t trust blindly!
4. I’m keeping up with the antics, so you don’t need to ping me with every post. Ping me if you need/want me to see something.
5. You can claim roles, but don’t do it willy-nilly! It could kill you if you mistime such claims.
6. Items are in the game! Be prepared for mayhem!
7. You are not allowed to PM any player game-related PMs without the permission of the GM or if your role allows it. This is punishable by a mod-kill. Mafia are naturally able to PM each other.
8. If you are inactive for two phases, I will replace or mod-kill you. Even a PM with your action/no action will suffice with marking you as active.
9. You are allowed to show PMs you received in game to other players. The only one you can't show is your role card PM. Showing your role card is game throwing and I will mod-kill as punishment.
10. Alignments will not be shown upon death! But you will know that player's character and series, though.


And last but not least, show respect to all players and the host by not giving up/rage quitting in public please. Kicking you while you're down is not my idea of fun and it can take away the fun of the game for many other people. If there is any reason that you need to walk out, please PM me.

Mimic checked the listings of the players, speculators, and replacements for the game like prior games before. She has her groove now.

Everyone entering the game got themselves set for the virtual reality before they had obtained their role cards. Once the group got into the game, more confetti flew. Some of the players couldn't miss the plot bunnies waving a banner that said WELCOME BACK, GAMERS in big blue letters.

Shapeclaw was sitting on a stone fence in the city area they were spawned in, still not tickled by the crazy excitement of the cartoony antics of the bunnies. "Glad to see a little over half of you guys came back to play again. And it doesn't look like we have complete newcomers this time. But I'll go over the basic concept just so you guys can say that there was no warning."

He hopped down from where he sat and strolled forward to the crowd. "There is 9 town, 3 mafia, and 1 neutral, total number of players being 13. The concept is simple; town eliminates mafia, mafia tries to even out with town by killing, and the neutral works on their own goals, whether it helps the feuding teams or not."

One player raised their hand. "Are items back in game?"
Another one nodded. "I was wondering about that. What about the voting for last wills?"
"Oh! And code names?"

Mimic popped in on her screen to handle the rapid slew of questions. "Items are back in play. The six prior items from last game have returned along with a seventh item due to how much mayhem we are expecting: a magic amulet. Have fun figuring that one out since it will be rarest of the items. Last wills have been omitted since there weren't enough votes to support it and code names will not make a return this round. When a player gets killed, their alignment will not be revealed, but their character and series will be."

One of the players looked up at the night sky. It looks like the game is starting in the night phase.

Mimic eyes something in the game program and sends a notification to Shapeclaw's personal screen. The fake navi glances at it and his face was of a little confusion. "I'll let you guys get on with the mayhem. Mimic and I have some things to take care of."

The hosts leave, allowing the players to begin the game. While everyone parted to get settled and plan, Shapeclaw.FAK looked into the game data and saw what Mimic had found. "Any idea how this got here?"

"Not sure, but I do know the origin." Mimic brought up an old document of a mafia game she never finished creating from way back when she failed her first mafia game hosting and had a concept in the back burner. Shapeclaw's eyes widened at what he just read.

"Are you serious?" He checked the file data more carefully before he realized the problem. "Mimic...We got another virus. I do not know if it's vicious or not, though."

"Well, it's in the game, then. We need to take control of the situation and fast."
"Right. I'll notify the plot bunnies."

Game start!
A virus is loose! What havoc is it going to do to this game?

I. can't really ask my usual d1 lynch question now haha

Thoughts on changes:
The virus... worries me. I still have bad 404 not found memories from previous games
I guess maf is starting out with an advantage this way, but maybe starting in night will make it easier to sort out lynch candidates tomorrow?
