@Wolfiez8191 I never understood the "If you use a gender change scroll, hatchlings might have parents of the same gender" argument. As if...that's...a problem? Or even matters literally at all? I'm really sorry to ask, but if you could explain to me how that would impact the game's mechanics/what would be wrong with such a situation, that would be fantastic. :'3 Thank you!

It has already been stated (I've lost the link to the thread, forgive me) by the admins that any sort of sex change scroll would require a rewrite of pretty much all the site's code related to the dragons, dragon breeding, and the breeding grounds.

I do not support sex change scrolls because I would much rather have the staff work on things like adventure mode than something unnecessary that would completely change a core mechanic of the site.

Meaning that you HAVE to get more horses if you want to keep breeding. This means that any pets coming in are balanced by the idea that eventually, the parents are going to be leaving. On FR it doesn't hold true, two dragons can have unlimited offspring, and they will never die. Also, that is what I was talking about, Howrse has those different challenges to breeding, but FR doesn't. It is very easy most of the time to get dragons of the correct sexes to produce what you want. I just started on a smoke/smoke/sky project and I already have two pair that can produce that combo. As I work towards that combo, there might be others that come up on the market that will also work. The thing about 'role play' is that, yes, it is a valid way to play, BUT, with dragons as unlimited as they are, they are not forced to use specific dragons for their roleplay efforts. If they need a female dragon with specific colors, they can either 'work around' it by saying that the dragon is female, despite what the site says, or they can get a dragon of the correct sex. Same thing for fandragons. I don't constantly buy and sell on the market either, just collect pretty dragons. Everyone plays the game the way they want, and that is great, but remember that putting something in place to help one group will also impact another group. Suggestions should look at not only positive and negative but also how it will impact the site as a whole.

It would definitely be a handy thing to have.

But, it would take away from the difficulty of breeding.

I'm on both sides atm. I couldn't really care less if it stays the way it stays or if it's added.

If it is added, there'd have to be rules so it doesn't get abused.
- It shouldn't be something you can buy. You should be able to get 3 chances to change your dragons gender a year/or more.

- The dragon shouldn't have been bred yet. (obviously it would glitch out stuff if a dragon has parents of the same gender)

- And a cool down would have to be put in place, the shortest time you could use to breed change on a dragon would be 3 months.

I would not like this.

I have definitely been in the situation of breeding my perfect dragon except for the gender. But... I didn't love it because it was the wrong gender so... I just had to bed another one. It wasn't a huge deal. It's the game. A gender change scroll would remove all difficulty from breeding. Or at least most of it. It's already pretty easy.

No support. As said earlier here, element and gender are the only things you have to hold onto. And it would need a heckin big amount of re-coding and arranging stuff.

Like @Bogsneep, I support a pose change item but not the coding and game-mechanic-balance nightmare that would be this kind of gender change option.
