Dragon Log

A dragon of a clan from the Wind Region, she wanted to explore more of her world. She wandered through several areas, before coming upon this clan just as they were clearing out space for a new home. Liking what she saw, and liking even more the Ethereal Trickster who came out to check her out when she arrived, she moved in. She was an instant hit among the other Guardians, and quickly chose her name to fit not only with the theme of her Clan, but as an honor to the first female to greet her when she arrived. Duskshadow, after all, made her feel right at home.

Now all she needs is a mate! Hmmm... what about that odd male Ridgeback with the strange dolphin companion? Well, she'll move next to him and see....

10-17-14: While Beeblebrox considers the probabilities involved in mating with Duskcloud, life in the lair goes on--and Duskcloud's dear companion the Ethereal Trickster is demonstrating that admirably. The sly fox has Awakened to his full potential, and is even now plotting more detailed mayhem…which Duskcloud is not adverse to. Perhaps it is the influence of that little purple Pearlcatcher friend of hers?

10-18-14: It seems that mayhem comes in many forms... which is not surprising, as that is, after all the Trickster's name. His latest escapade, however, has no one upset: He set up Beeb and Duskcloud together, and they finally admitted their feelings... now they are proud parents of 2 eggs! Here's hoping they hatch....

10-23-14: Two successful hatchlings! Duskcloud is very proud of her new son and daughter, though the hatchlings themselves appear a bit restless....

11-25-14: Duskcloud and her mate, Beeblebrox, have journeyed with several other dragons to Dragonhome this year, for the Rockbreaker's Ceremony. As always, Dusk's mate quickly wandered off to find a game of improbability. Dusk wasn't too worried, until Spellweaver returned to the camp with news of a certain Ridgeback attempting to drown himself. Duskcloud immediately set out to find her irresponsible mate.... ( , )

11-27-14: Duskcloud was waiting for Beeblebrox to return from his hunting trip when Spellweaver approached her and asked for help with an experiment that the excitable Spiral and her mate, Runemaster, were working on. Since Spell is Beeb's mother, and Dusk was hoping to get her help with the Coli notion, the usually far more careful Guardian agreed. This....turned out to be a mistake... ( )

11-28-14: Oh dear. Perhaps some time Digging with Beeblebrox in the Festival Grounds, looking for something to help Nightsedge with a gift for Eveningrose, will make Dusk feel better… ( , , )

In the end, despite Beeb's best efforts, Duskcloud was able to ensure that Night put together quite a nice presentation for Eveningrose. Night is thrilled, Dusk is satisfied, and Beeb is happy...and Spell and Rune did not manage to blow up the rest of the camp. Duskcloud has even managed to convince Beeblebrox to consider the opportunities to play with improbability in the Coli, rather than trying to explore various ways to drown on land. All in all, not a bad ending to a fun Festival....

2-5-15: After some time, Mayhem appears to have grown bored. While the Ethereal Trickster wanders to another part of the lair, Duskcloud is getting to know a Blacktalon Striker, who is showing her some of his favorite battle moves....

2-24-15: An ongoing Prank War with Teeka's Clan (during the Trickmurk Circus) seems to have swept Duskcloud up in it's madness, thanks to Beeb having been an innocent victim of a scarf covered with itchy golden pollen... ( , )

2-25-15: And Dusk has sent her answer... ( , )

2-26-15: Having had enough with pranks for the moment, Beeb has wandered off to somewhere on the Trickmurk Circus Grounds...and Duskcloud is now looking for him, but she has gotten a bit sidetracked... ( , )

2-28-15: Dusk's enjoyment of the parade was unfortunately interrupted, when Flamecaster informed her that her mate had decided to spend all the Clan's treasure at the Trickmurk Midway. () Needless to say, Duskcloud was NOT pleased, though she was a bit mollified by the introduction to baby Shadow Pearlcatcher that Beeb had managed to win. ( , ) The little Shadowling in question has settled into the Clan...but not as Beeb and Dusk's son. Rather, he found himself a place with 2 Skydancers, instead. Beeb and Duskcloud are disappointed that they won't be able to raise him after all, but glad that he is content in his new home. And Duskcloud has vowed to keep a much closer eye on her mate in the future...

3-31-15: Dusk has returned from her journey to the Windswept Plains, for the Mistral Jamboree. She has been wandering the caves in something of daze for the past few hours, and no one but Beeb can figure out why--or believes her when she says. Beebelebrox, however, is quite certain his gentle mate is telling the truth. After all, why shouldn't' she have had the improbable good fortune of catching her Birth God's attention while lost on her travels (in the Choose Your Own Adventure Game), and ending up being escorted to the Jamboree by the Windsinger himself? Things like that happen to him all the time! ( )

5-6-15: The Blacktalon Striker was off practicing his favorite battle moves... and when he returned, Duskcloud found to her shock that in his absence he had Awakened! She is not sure what to do with the knowledge that her friend reached maturity without her--though of course she wishes him all the best in his newfound adulthood. She just wishes she knew what he did to cause it to happen....

2-22-16: Much to Duskcloud’s annoyance, Beeblebrox has once again headed to the Midway this year during the Trickmurk Circus. She has gone after him with the intent of stopping him from spending all the Clan’s treasure, and found herself somewhat lost in the Tangled Wood… ( )

2-27-16: After an interesting time at an extremely odd pool, Duskcloud finally made it to the Midway, where she was attracted to a certain Watershot game… ( , )

… Perhaps the reason Dusk doesn't often play games of chance is because she usually wins? After walking away with the top prize form Watershot, Dusk gave the Festival Chest to Beeb--after she reamed him out for the amount of treasure he had spent, of course…( )

4-3-17: After a long, patient, wait, Duskcloud finally has her own Special Holiday Familiar! The Gusting Goblin seems quite happy with his choice of dragon--even if some of the other dragons of the lair are a little startled by the color contrast....

6-30-17: The Gusting Goblin has Awakened at last! Duskcloud is thrilled--not the least because she was actually present to see it happen this time. Her friend is bouncing around, full of energy and life, and amusing all who see him with his antics. Now all she has to be do is find him an appropriate name...

9-23-18: Beeblebrox and Duskcloud headed together to the Starfall Celebration this year, and Beeb decided to go for a grab out of the rather interesting pile of fascinating objects that they found in the forest. He ended up with some nice Alchemist Tools for Verdigris, in return for the Bogsneak’s agreement to go fishing for them, thus ensuring that Beeb does not try to drown himself again…

3-31-19: Duskcloud and Beeblebrox decided to go together to the Mistral Jamboree this time, to participate in the Cloudsong Celebration. Unfortunately, Beeb got distracted by a kite-making contest, and Dusk ended up spending almost her entire trip trying to convince him not to create something that would crash. ( ) Well, at least Beeb had fun…and the arrival of a Spiral with some gifts did manage to cheer Dusk up, though she could have done without the mention of the kite contest…. ( )

12-2-19: Duskcloud was playing with her familiar companions today when she was surprised to realize that there was an extra individual hiding behind “Aethyr.” Upon investigating, she found that a usually reserved Maren Defender had somehow left the Hoard, and was checking her out. One thing led to another, and now Duskcloud has a new companion to bond with! Only time will tell how this new friendship will go, but at least the Defender has agreed not to poke anyone with her spear…

3-16-20: The Maren Defender has Awakened! And is now exploring all the waterways around the caves. Well, at least she is happy…

3-24-20: The Mistral Jamboree has come around again, and Duskcloud has once again headed to the Cloudsong Celebration. Right now she is thoroughly enjoying herself, watching a Pearlcatcher perform some expert Juggling ( , ) while a Coatl demonstrates sword techniques nearby ( ). Just another day on the Cloudsong…and a wonderful chance for Duskcloud to relax and forget about chaotic magical problems back home… ( )

3-29-20: After a fun week at the Cloudsong, Duskcloud is beginning to miss her cave, and her mate, and more than willing to start on the journey home, after watching a last performance of the kites… ( ) …And when she comes home, she will be bringing some wonderful memories, and some unusual gifts, with her. Just what is she going to do with all these familiars? Hopefully some of the others in the Clan will want to bond with the ones she can’t relate to….

4-4-20: Duskcloud was stunned when, out of all the familiars she brought back with her from the Cloudsong this year, the one that decided to bond with her was the Mossy Beetleboar! Maybe she shouldn’t have spent so much time looking for insects the last couple days? It seems to have given “Pumbaa” some ideas. Well, at least he’s cute…if looked at from a certain angle, anyway…

5-24-20: While at the Greenskeeper Gathering this year, Duskcould and Beeblebrox stopped by a strange window in the Games Convention Hall. The style was somewhat odd…and the Window itself seemed to be moving! They ended up studying the design for some time, while discussing Beeb’s absolute fascination with playing games of chance… ( )

7-3-20: Pumbaa has Awakened! And about time too, as far as Duskcloud is concerned. She has been getting tired of chasing him away from all the insects and plants she is trying to eat. Maybe now that he is more mature he will learn to share…

6-17-21: It has been some time since Dusk's Maren Defender joined the family--more than a year, in fact. In all that time, she has never once given an indication of what she wished to be called, or even if she knew what a "name" is. The patient Guardian had resigned herself to the thought that her only female companion would always remain somewhat aloof. So it came as an extremely pleasant surprise when the Maren returned from yet another trip to the sea and announced that she had found her name at last. She wishes, apparently, to be called "Cummula," after the fluffiest of the clouds. Why, exactly, she thinks that this is an appropriate name for a fierce warrior, Dusk has not bothered to ask. She is too ecstatic at this obvious sign of acceptance to worry about such trivialities...

3-24-24: After the Clan missed the Cloudsong Celebration last year, Duskcloud was even happier than usual to see that familiar set of ballonns in the sky. She enjoyed herself immensely, and even managed to find a new friend along the way when a young Eggull got caught up in some wrappings. Dusk tried to help free the Inquisitive bird, looked into its eyes, and the rest is history.... [Needs updating]
