I've just finished editing new bios for all my lore dragons, but for the past few days I haven't been able to add anything to them [s]because I was too busy writing fanfic[/s]. So I've decided to do the Biolocke challenge, starting from tomorrow!
Biolocke rules by FirozTaverbi, edited to suit my bio layout. Format and code by FirozTaverbi.
[emoji=d20 size=1] Rules [emoji=d20 size=1]
The rules are tangentially related to the classic Pinkerlocke: each daily item pulled from Pinkerton's Plundered Pile dictates which action is done that day. I will be the one choosing which dragon's bio gets updated (since I'm a perfectionist and trying to force myself to come up with things on the spot usually doesn't go well... oops).
[emoji=insect size=1][emoji=meat size=1] Food - Profile [emoji=plant size=1][emoji=seafood size=1]
This is the dragon's "fact sheet" - basic information about them. This can be prose or a sidebar, whatever works. The type of food determines the information added to the profile:
[emoji=meat size=1] - Complete the Information section of a dragon
[emoji=seafood size=1] - Complete the Weapon or Skills sections of a dragon
[emoji=insect size=1] - Complete the Fortune or Memory sections of a dragon
[emoji=plant size=1] - Name a dragon (this takes more effort to do than all of the above combined... I'm not kidding)
[emoji=star size=1] Material or Trinket - Lore [emoji=star size=1]
This is a section of prose either telling the dragon's backstory or a short story about their daily lives. The rarity of the trinket item determines the amount of lore that must be written.
Material -> Bio. Trinket -> History.
[emoji=star size=1] - 100 words
[emoji=star size=1][emoji=star size=1] - 200 words
[emoji=star size=1][emoji=star size=1][emoji=star size=1] to [emoji=rainbow star 1 size=1] - 300 words
[emoji=bestiary size=1] Familiar - Gijinka [emoji=bestiary size=1]
Make a gijinka design for a dragon on Gaiaonline's avatar maker.
[emoji=apparel helm size=1] Apparel - Outfit or Genes [emoji=apparel helm size=1]
Buy a piece of apparel or gene scroll.
[emoji=coliseum team size=1] Battle Item - Other bio stuff [emoji=coliseum team size=1]
Add to the Relationship section of a dragon, or
Represent a dragon with a title.
[emoji=ping size=1] Exemptions [emoji=ping size=1]
I might pause the challenge if I need to (FR holidays, irl stuff, etc). No compensation needed.
Also if I accidentally close the dialogue box before seeing what I get (because I do that sometimes), Crim will be my next option!
[emoji=rainbow star 2 size=1] Bonus challenges [emoji=rainbow star 2 size=1]
Every now and then I might take on five extra tasks using Crim. The tasks won't necessary be completed in one day, but can be done over the next few days if I don't feel like doing the main tasks. These won't replace the main tasks (they're called Bonus for a reason), but they will hopefully help me complete something if I don't feel like doing the assigned task that day.
All my lore dragons are listed here in my Clan Tracker (though don't trust the progress icons, I haven't edited them since redoing my bios).
Here's an example of my bio layout if you're interested.

Great! I think I'll be making a gijinka for this boy and put it in his bio.

Edit: Wrote almost 200 words and not even halfway through the first lore section. Maybe I should up the word count requirements?
Edit 2: I finish the first part of the bio with over 500 words. So I guess the 1000 words requirement should be equal to one full lore in my bio format.
“Childe Trieu Nhat came looking for me out of the blue, right when I was settling some business with Sunwheel automation shop - honestly, you scared me half to death. I thought the Heaven Sect was here to scold me about something else. Although, I’m grateful that you’ve given me another chance to explain and elaborate myself; an opportunity that I dare not refuse. Back then, it is true that I knowingly accompanied Diem Duong to Waterless island. Actually, I was actively supporting his decision to impersonate his master. In all my time knowing him, in fact, it’s not that unlikely for me to shut down his plans - he’d always come up with the most stupid ideas anyone could ever conjure. He’s always been an idiot.”
“But not this time. This time, I did not consider him at all ignorant of logical facts. Quite the opposite - his idea got me intrigued. I’d thought that if everything went well, it would only benefit his master’s family, him, myself, and even Huyen Nghi. So, do you think that because of this, I am undeserving of the ‘prodigy’ nomenclature you’ve generously bestowed upon me?”
“I think convincing su nuong to not appoint me as the head of Sunwheel automation shop was a proper punishment for my misdoings - I was expecting something way worse. Still, I was going to turn down the offer anyway. The automation style of Sunwheel was not something I’m particularly interested in, or good at. Yes, I made Dai Nguyen’s prostheses, but they were nowhere near as advanced as su nuong’s, and only served to replace his integumentary system.”
“I just vastly prefer my customized weapons.”
“Well, that is all that I feel the need to explain. Do tell me if you want - if you can find me, that is. I sincerely hope you won’t hate me for this, but I don’t have a set automation shop to work at. My constant traveling means I might not know where I end up, and please, don’t bother the other Waterless guys for this. They don’t know any better than I do.”
“Although If I am allowed to request a favour, may I ask childe Trieu Nhat to tell me, at the very least, what my sister writes in her scroll?”
“…No?”
Placing this crown upon your head won't bestow you
monarchical powers, but you'll probably look pretty cool.

"Name a dragon"
Oh boy... exactly what I've been dreading...
Although I have several names that I was tentative about and I can just easily slap them onto dragons and call it a day, I'll challenge myself a little bit and choose a dragon I haven't attempted naming at all. Enter... her.

Edit: Got it! Her name is Kha Mien. Kha = Able, possible. Mien = Cotton. It just sounds good idk.
Spent like an hour googling, with many tabs opened and having named several other dragons in the process, only for the name to click within the last minute.

Edit: Waoooo this is a wordy boi. I might have to add to the other dragons' bios to match with this one's word count now *sweats buckets*
Born as a dragon in the swampy depths of the Lower Astrodome with a scarcely-envied gift, Hue Man was quick to experience neglect and abandonment. As Master Bang Nu recalled, the poor youth appeared in front of the pastry shop she was eating at, selling fortunes to those who were interested. The young dragon’s fortunes were terrifying, as she talked endlessly about spirits roaming each and every step of the townspeople, treading above what used to be a battleground. Her appearance served little to ease the minds of frightened onlookers. Master Bang Nu, though, quickly recognized the young lady’s origins, and brought her to the Focal Point. Soon after, Hue Man followed her to the Tenebrous Palace, becoming one of the first disciples of Water Sect.
Hue Man’s ability to feel the emotions of spiritual presences is definitely unique - she is perhaps the only recorded case. That makes her decision to become an undertaker all the more understandable, or, if you get to know her enough, probably even baffling. Her duty includes conducting and directing funeral rituals for both clan members and outsiders. Often, she works when the deceased’s spirits are still around, affecting her immensely. The effects of her harsh line of work can be seen etched into her sorrowful expression every time she passes by a graveyard, and her ceremonial staff is drenched in such a strong wraith-like aura that it is hard to believe she’s not affiliated with evil.
Despite her dark associations, Hue Man remains a gentle and thoughtful individual. She is quiet, often “minding her own business”, as she would say, and keeps herself impartial to the various conflicts between the Sects. Things would not go smoothly, however, when her most treasured person died in a gruesome, yet mysterious way. Many pieces of evidence pointed to the at-the-time heir of Water Sect, yet for some reason Hue Man did not care about apprehending him, nor did she step in when Thuy Du tried to take the criminal away from Da Nguyet’s domain. Was she intimidated by his power? Unlikely. The death-whisperer was strong and respected, so if I have to guess, her closeness to Thuy Du probably played a hefty role.
Still, everything is all in the past now - as she once expressed. Hue Man no longer wishes to get to the bottom of the mystery. To this day she is still searching for her lover, worried that he might fall prey to manipulation and dark arts. I wish her the best, although I’m afraid that due to the turns of this turbulent world and the resentment stemmed from the circumstances of his death, his spirit might never lay rest.
That's a cue for me to do what I've been putting off for months now.
