Pascal
Explorer, Wind Ambassador
Biography
Pascal was one of the obelisks directly created by the earth deity Earthshaker in the underground cavern. He was among the last ones to break free in the cavern most of his siblings having already broken free or their statues had been carried out as the older breeds waited them to wake up. Once the rocky skin started to crumble Pascal heard echoey voices notice that before he was fully freed his eyes seeing the large lantern lit cavern in which he had born there being only few dragons in there he included. The two closest dragons, distance to second closest being at least few full-grown imperials, were a ridgeback and a spiral the earth deity having granted all that knowledge to Pascal and his kind before bringing them to life. The ridgeback pointed out that Pascal took his time before introducing herself as Kolari while the spiral was Pernis Pascal telling them the name the earth deity had given him. Earthshaker had also told him to get the dragons out of the caves safely as they were not safe. He said that to the two dragons who said they were aware of that and were in the caves only because they were waiting the rest of the obelisks to wake up. The remaining few statues were looked after by other dragons and Pascal left the cavern with the two older dragons. Pascal had already seen the world above ground but he was still a bit nervous to step there Kolari saying there was nothing to worry about her carefree attitude calming Pascal a little bit. On the surface there were clearly way more dragons than what there had been in the cavern yet it was quiet it being very early morning the Sun barely peeking behind the horizon. Pernis flew to someone sitting on a night shift Pascal hearing him report about status in the cavern before mentioning that they were leaving after taking a nap the night shifter noting that. Kolari and Pernis escorted Pascal to their tent which was shared with few other dragons they asking if Pascal was tired. He was not having just woken up and Pernis asked him to wait outside and wake them up once the Sun reached its highest point Pascal promising to do that. Pascal sat outside the tent till the Sun started to rise and decided to walk around the camp as he waited the midday. He saw many tents some meant for sleeping while some had other uses like housing healers and chefs the place looking like it had just recently housed way more dragons. He saw some of his siblings hearing them talk about needing to protect older breeds and needing to move to other clans few asking if Pascal already knew where he was going. He was not entirely sure but he had feeling he would go with the two taking the nap. They wished each other good luck as the others left Pascal staying there waiting the sunhigh glancing to the few landmarks he was able to see: the Pillar of the World, the Behemoth and the Observatory. At the midday Pascal returned to the tent it now only housing the two sleeping dragons. He woke them up Kolari asking how was the morning as they started to gather their items Pascal telling how he had just walked around the camp. Pascal had already formed a strong bond with the two dragons, most likely due to Earthshaker’s will, and said he was going to come with them as Kolari asked what he was going to do. Still, as they were leaving the camp and moving towards the arcane domain, duo’s home, Pascal felt like he didn’t want to leave yet. He knew the world already but he was still curious about it and he wanted to explore it at least a little before leaving. He felt like he had to follow the two dragons in order to protect them and their lair but his heart wanted to explore, truly see what was around Sornieth. Kolari and Pernis seemed to notice Pascal’s reluctance and asked if he was alright. At first Pascal said he was fine but Kolari was not tricked and asked Pascal to tell what bothered him. Pascal told them he wanted to see the world with his own eyes Kolari, as a wind dragon, being fast to encourage him to go explore. Pascal was confused at first the ridgeback explaining he could go see the world and come to their clan once he was satisfied. Their clan lived secluded and if there was a threat they could totally be the last ones to experience it. She also added that if he was to explore he should try to get to the light domain by the end of the month as the light holiday was approaching. Pascal, very unsure, was about to oppose the suggestion he actually wanted to try when Pernis joined Kolari and said he could travel the world and arrive to the clan when the Starfall Celebration was approaching it not being that far away though there was the House Cup right after the light holiday. Pascal knew about the elemental holidays but he did not know about the House Cup the two dragons explained it was just an annual tournament within the Observatory. Pascal thought about his options for a moment and though his sense of duty was strong his curiosity was stronger and he decided to travel the continent till the arcane holiday he promising to arrive to the clan by then. Kolari and Pernis were happy with that decision and Kolari gave him some money just in case and told their clan’s location and name while Pernis told he should avoid the plague domain if he couldn’t get proper protection, and he should reach lightning domain by end of July and fire domain by the end of August. He should also stay on main roads as they were generally safe but still keep eyes open in case of beastclan bandits. He also should watch out for the emperor while in light domain. After everything was explained and Pascal had gotten what he might need the two dragons continued their journey towards the arcane domain while Pascal turned around and made his way towards the shadow domain planning to go through it to reach the light domain. Pascal reached the light domain before the holiday started and once it ended he made his way to the nature domain to the north from where he took a boat to the lightning domain. As a water dragon the lightning domain felt very threatening and Pascal decided to continue his journey to the water domain before the lightning holiday ended. While at the sea Pascal visited a dock in the plague domain but didn’t want to risk getting sick and stayed on the boat. Something though caught his eye when he was on the boat and that was the Cloudsong high above the wind domain. He really wanted to visit that place and promised to do so after the fire holiday he now needing to head towards the Ashfall Waste. Pascal did not enjoy his stay in the heat of the fire domain or the coldness of the ice domain following the visit to the fire. It though had been more bearable Pascal having realized to buy some protecting clothes on his way to the cold south. After leaving the ice domain Pascal made his way to the wind domain he enjoying the wind messing with his fur. While in there he was able to see Coudsong much better it drifting on the domain he wanting to finish his journey by reaching the highest point he could when having started from probably the lowest point. After wandering back and forth of the domain he was gifted a puppy terrier by a friendly family who let him rest in their home and eventually he was able to find the route through which the new residents reached the lair in the sky and Pascal hopped on it and flew to the clouds. The view was magnificent from the high above the clouds Pascal almost feeling like staying in there. He though had promised to get to the clan by Starfall Celebration which was fast approaching and he explained that to the Windsinger’s representatives when they asked if he wanted to join their ranks. They understood and said their doors were open if he ever wanted to come back Pascal feeling happy with them encouraging his exploring nature. Pascal enjoyed his stay in the Cloudsong but it started to be time for him to leave and he jumped off the floating lair gliding down towards the arcane domain his warm clothes being very useful with keeping him and his dog warm during the glide. Cloudsong was so high Pascal was sure he could have been able to reach the clan of Kolari and Pernis with one glide. Sadly, he was not entirely sure where the clan was supposed to be the “backside of the Focal Point” being rather vague location. He decided to land on one port to see if any of the ships could take him where he was supposed to get. None of the traffic ships though seemed to go behind the Focal Point and those that did barely stopped on the port Pascal was at. He asked the sailors having stopped there if they happened to know any ways he could get to the clan he was trying to reach one sailor saying that ship called Sharkbite would get him there and it occasionally stopped at the port. Pascal thanked the sailors and started to wait Sharkbite to arrive. Pascal checked the ships every morning and evening not wanting to miss the ship that could take him to where he was supposed to get. Eventually, one morning he saw a ship named Sharkbite among the other ships and went to see it closer only to be driven away by a flying thresher. A sphinx on the ship asked what was his business Pascal telling he was looking for the captain the sphinx telling he was on land and would return by afternoon Pascal staying near the ship waiting. Eventually the snapper arrived introducing himself as Mosaic and promising to take Pascal to the clan free of charge because Pascal was starting to get a bit broke. Mosaic took Pascal to a small port and told him to follow the road ahead it eventually taking him to the clan. Pascal had to walk through a wood for a long time he starting to think Kolari had not joked when she had said the clan lived secluded. It was starting to get late when Pascal eventually started to hear voices ahead and a lair opened ahead of him he glancing over the residents to see if he managed to spot Kolari or Pernis. While doing that Azul arrived to see if he needed anything she telling Pernis was not in the lair at the moment but Kolari should be somewhere underground Pascal not understanding what an arcane clan would need from there. He though managed to find the ridgeback by calling for her in front of one of the tunnels under the lair she being happy to see he make it to home Pascal being likewise happy. During the following weeks Pascal learned to know his new clan mates as well as got used to their nocturnal lifestyle that explaining why Kolari and Pernis had been doing night shift months ago in the earth domain. He met with all of the clan’s ambassadors except for the wind one which Pascal was most excited to meet. According to Azul they had never had a wind ambassador which saddened Pascal but then a spark of excitement was alighted within him. He had been with Kaiku when the two had ended up in the library at the same time. Pascal had talked with his dog about the unfortunate situation of the clan having no wind ambassador when Kaiku had said that if it bothered him he could take that position. She had gotten her light ambassador status by asking for it and so had their plague ambassador Tahna, and their ex-nature ambassador who Kaiku refused to name. Pascal was not sure if he should ask for the job. It would give him a perfect reason to visit Cloudsong regularly but it could hinder the exploration which he planned on doing. He thought it through and through and after talking about with Kolari he decided to take the job. The clan had only two wind dragons. Pascal should be able to make sure they were not mistreated and still have time to explore the world. With that resolution Pascal flew back to the Cloudsong and declared he wanted to take the job as his clan’s wind ambassador. He was granted the status and after Pernis got him his own office Pascal decided to go do some exploring he feeling he still had yet a lot to see when it came to the world. Pascal explored the world and occasionally visited both the Cloudsong and the clan to check everything was alright. Most of the time they were. Soon after the Night of the Nocturne Pascal lost two of his sons and his daughter got badly hurt. Pascal had not been home when that happened and when he got there things had already turned back to normal. There was nothing Pascal could do so he just kept on traveling the regions with his dog checking the empty areas on the map enjoying finding something unexpected in most of them. After the shadow holiday Pascal had arrived back home. It was mere weeks before his first Mistral Jamboree and knowing he needed to make sure the clan had a good holiday he had decided to stay home. Instead of exploring the outside regions he decided to turn his attention to the wood the clan lived in. There were some areas that had not been explored in detail and Pascal decided to do that in the meantime. One night he suddenly found himself back in the lair with no memory of how he got there. He though had managed to mark something on the map and when he talked about that with the rangers they suggested he encountered Nagabaro. The spirit specialized in mind altering be that memory wiping or mind control. That did make sense and Pascal made a mental note to be more careful next time. He though was curious about the area he had marked on the map and asked if rangers had explored it. Apparently they had not even known about it and after some back and forth they decided to go explore the area which Pascal's map said was wild and very dense. They couldn’t go right away since Tahna, one of the rangers, was still tied with dealing with plague students that had arrived to the clan for their exchange period. After that was over, and Tahna had gotten some rest, the rangers got ready and started to make their way towards the overgrown part of the wood. With them they took Vatta the druid, Fen the egologist and his young zoologist student Lemmikki and Pascal himself. The group arrived to the place Pascal had managed to mark on the map. It was rather far from the lair and the rangers had not thought about exploring the area. The marked place though interested them mostly because of how forbidding it felt. Fen flew inside the dense part of the wood worrying his familiar in process. He came back soon saying the trees and the ground were so wild it was like an underground tunnel system. He flew on Vatta who took the lead in the group as he was able to make plants make way for them. Pascal walked in last following Julius who had readied his bow. If something was to attack from behind, he had best chances at surviving he being largest in the group. The group walked slowly through the dense vegetation Fen and Lemmikki occasionally stopping to observe things they found while Vatta and Tahna walked ahead. Everyone their companions included had an uneasy feeling and eventually Vatta asked everyone to stop. After being silent for a moment the druid opened the tree wall in front of him and the dragons in front of Pascal went to see what was in there. Pascal let the smaller dragons go first and came to see what was behind the trees after they had found their place. He was able to see inside over Lemmikki. Hidden behind the wall of trees was an ancient looking thing Pascal not being sure what it was though it looked broken. After some back and forth Tahna went in hand on his cleaver while Julius was ready to fire his bow if need to be. Nothing seemed to happen when Tahna went in and after some time everyone else stepped in as well. They examined the thing no one being sure what exactly it was. Pascal took a long look at it and for him it looked a bit like a seal. He had seen similar things in places he had visited. Fen agreed with Pascal he having found some footsteps leading away from the seal. Whatever had been sealed in there had escaped, and not that long ago. Lemmikki asked if it had been the wyvern that had since been sealed in the lair. The rangers though were sure it was not. The trail didn’t match and it was too fresh to be Retsbiert’s considering it was well over a year since it had been sealed away. The group decided to follow the trail in hopes of finding out what it was. It had been sealed away, seemingly, and the rangers wanted to make sure it possessed no danger to the clan. The group walked as queue Pascal taking the last spot again while Fen took the first. They followed the trail it eventually leading out of the dense vegetation Pascal’s compass telling they were now on the opposite side of it. Knowing that the whatever had gotten out of the dense wood made the rangers a bit worried and they suggested they tracked down it. They were sure it had been sealed away for a reason. The group followed the trail no longer in queue until it suddenly ended. The two rangers scouted the trees around them while Pascal looked up to the sky assuming the thing had taken flight. He didn’t see anything but he had a feeling something was looking at them and his dog seemed to sense the same. That was when Lemmikki’s scream scared everyone and as Pascal turned to look at her she had been attacked by a dragon looking thing. It kind of looked like the newly discovered aberration dragon but that one had total of five heads two of them holding Lemmikki while the rest three were ready for anyone coming closer. Julius fired an arrow it hitting one of the thing's eyes. The head pulled back but others were unbothered by that and one of them fired an earth spell back at Julius. The spell missed and another head breath fire more so to warn than to attack. The group backed down to avoid being burnt while Pascal decided to leap forward. He targeted the head holding Lemmikki’s neck and tried to force it open using his wings to protect him from other heads. The head that had been biting Lemmikki’s arm changed its target and sank its teeth to Pascal’s side. Pascal didn’t let that to distract him and after managing to open the jaws he used his size to push the thing away. One of the heads tried to pull Pascal’s wing out of the way but before it was able to do so Vatta joined the battle using the plants to close the fire breathing mouth and push the thing away from Pascal. Tahna came closer with cleaver in hand and draw attention to himself while Julius fired arrows at it. Pascal himself kept few of the head busy until the thing pulled itself free from the plants and took flight. The group followed it as it circled them until attempting to attack Vatta from above. Pascal was large enough to counter that and jumped to push the thing away from the druid. The thing stopped to calculate the situation and after hearing someone approaching from the wood, Pascal claiming that was reinforcements, the thing said it was not yet time and it would try again later calling itself Demoni. After that if flew away while the group hid as Monsoon arrived to the scene. After the virulent spirit left everyone came back out Tahna being fast to ask if everyone was alright. Pascal was but Lemmikki was not she having died on the spot. Fen had tried to help her but judging by the wound not even the healer could have done anything if he had been there. Pascal offered to carry pearlcatcher’s body to the lair while Vatta took her pearl. In the lair the group split Tahna walking with Pascal to Kupari. Before they reached the priestess the plague ambassador said he could deal with explaining the incident and told Pascal to go get himself checked. His first Jamboree was approaching and he should not risk attending it hurt. Pascal thanked the older ambassador and after leaving Lemmikki’s body in sanctuary he made his way to the healing offices. Pascal’s first Mistral Jamboree came and went and after that the clan decided to take exhance students from wind that keeping Pascal busy. After the wind students left and Pascal got some rest he started to plan where he should wander next. He was in the clan’s cafeteria when Parcha arrived there. He had not come to eat but instead asked if anyone wanted to try one of their newer machines. Lief, who was enjoying his lunch next to Pascal, asked what kind of machine it was the snapper saying it was a time machine. Pascal was rather surprised by how few in the cafeteria seemed interested, actually, most of them looked scared after hearing what the machine was. Pascal had time, and interest, to check the machine out and volunteered. Parcha escorted Pascal to the underground lab also acting as clan’s lightning embassy. There his coworkers were waiting looking a bit down until they noticed Pascal. Virgil asked if his adopted father had actually found someone willing to help them Pascal assuming they had too been looking for test subjects and found none. Pascal saw Parcha nod to the other scientists and they started to make their way towards the machine it being a cylinder looking thing large enough to fit an imperial in it. It had some kind of clock on it Pascal assuming it showed current time. On the control panel there was a similar looking clock Pascal guessing it determined the time to travel to. Parcha and Tempest went to check the panel while Virgil checked that the cylinder was clean. Alma found herself a place to see what was going to happen along with the groups familiars. Pascal stared the cylinder and asked if the machine actually worked. Tempest was positive it did as they had already tested things out. With the machine they were able to send things to the future and from future to the past but they were unable to go to time before the machine was built. As proof they showed a picture of a future festival item which they had sent back to the future to avoid time paradoxes. The picture certainly was not a painting and Alma showed with a fancy machine how it had been taken. The machine printed the image it had taken mere seconds later Pascal being at awe. Alma placed the machine back from where she had taken it while explaining that they had been trying to replicate the experiment but then one of Alma’s experiments, released by something called Doug, had jumped on the control panel and set the coordinates to far into the future. Their test subject had successfully returned from closer future but they had yet to come back from wherever the previous test sent him and Pascal was going to go check if everything was right. Pascal didn’t remember volunteering for that and asked others if that was actually what was going to happen. Tempest assured he would be fine Virgil, stepping out of the cylinder, saying the worst that could happen was clan losing their wind ambassador. In his mind Pascal added death was also possible. The scientist seemed to be ready to operate the machine Pascal asking why none of them went to check. They at least knew how to operate the machine. Parcha explained that in order for the time travel to be possible the machine needed to be operational and by keeping all four in the present they made sure there was someone who could make sure the machine would not break before the destination. Pascal asked how far to the future he would be going but none of the scientists had yet to figure out how the clock’s time translated to years. All they could say was "far". Pascal prepared to step to the cylinder and before doing so he left his dog behind asking Parcha to get him to Pinkapi if he didn’t come back. Parcha promised to do that and after explaining how to come back from the future Pascal stepped into the cylinder. The scientists wished him luck and activated the machine Pascal watching through the cylinder’s glass walls. The time hop in itself was not bad, Pascal didn’t even notice it physically. He was just surrounded by light column and then he was in the future, in a very eerie future. The lab was dark and clearly abandoned, only light sources, along with Pascal’s ambassador symbols emblem and halo, were random crystals that had grown through lab's wall, floor and ceiling panels. Pascal stepped out of the cylinder carefully asking if anyone was still there the lab answering with chilling silence. Somewhere in the lab someone sounded like having tripped on something and though scared Pascal decided to go check what it was. He had been sent little bit farther than the previous test subject, a mith, and Pascal hoped the sound had been caused by the said mith. Pascal followed the sound and found himself in some kind of generator room his symbols being the only things alighting it. Pascal didn’t see anyone and called the mith by name he asking who Pascal was from his hide. Pascal explained that he had been sent to check why the mith had not come back the mith asking how long he had been gone. Pascal did not know and guessed day or two. The mith stepped out of his hide telling there was no power and the machine could not send them back without that. Pascal saw there was no power and asked how they could get it. The mith studied the generator explaining how it made the power moving to check the other generator. Pascal took a better look at the room and saw there were multiple generators all generating power different ways or they powered different things. According to the mith they were all broken or had lost their way to generate electricity. Pascal asked if the mith was able to fix any of the generators the mith guessing he could but it meant nothing if they had nothing to fuel them. Pascal asked what was best kind of fuel and the mith said crystals were probably the best at the moment. Water and wind ones would be more reliable but the turbines seemed to have broken. Pascal told he could try dig up one of the crystals on the floor but the mith said they didn’t hold enough power. They would need to be charged with arcane magic specially because the generators were built to transform that magic in particular. Pascal promised to go outside to see if he could find someone to charge a crystal while the mith worked to fix the generator. Mith agreed with the plan but asked Pascal to leave his ambassador symbols for him. He needed some light to work. Pascal left his emblem. Pascal left the generator room and started to make his way outside the lab. Sadly, the elevators were out of service even if there had been power. With that way blocked Pascal went to look for another way out and found one behind some wall panels. There were some tunnels and Pascal followed them out of the labs ignoring the skeleton he saw on his way to the surface. The surface didn’t look much better than the lab below, it almost looked worse. The tunnel had led to near an old rocked launch pad where the ground had given in and as Pascal got out he was greeted with eerie silence and not a single dragon anywhere. All Pascal saw was ruins of the clan that had grown even bigger than what it had been when he had hopped through time. Pascal walked carefully the place having very scary atmosphere, and he saw all kinds of traps laid all over the place. From the temple he heard distant speech and relieved to hear someone was still there Pascal started to make his way towards the boarded up temple. He though didn’t get to take many steps when something scary rushed to attack him behind. Pascal turned around to see what it was and barely avoided the creature attacking him. He turned to see what it was but he could not be sure the thing being heavily fused with crystal looking growth it not only covering the head but also replaced it. Still, it looked dragon like and with more creatures like it approaching Pascal he deciding to run. He didn’t know what they were and he didn’t want to know what they were. The crystal infused dragon things ran after Pascal it becoming clear they were blind and used either smell or hearing to locate their target. Pascal ran towards the temple entrance and under a huge boulder that had been lifted with a robe and winch. After reaching the winch Pascal stopped and seeing how the crystal things were about to run under the boulder he released the lock on the winch the boulder dropping on them crushing the head. They stopped moving and carefully Pascal lifted the boulder back up putting the lock back in place. After staring at the creatures for some time and seeing few move far away he came to conclusion that the traps were meant for the creatures. Pascal continued towards the entrance carefully glancing over his back every other step. Eventually he encountered more crystal creatures there being more dragon looking ones but also some looking like beastclan members and other familiars. They managed to surround Pascal and he struggled to not be hit by any of them as they jumped blindly towards him. His escape attempt ended with he falling to a pit from where he managed to fly out before the pit was set ablaze. Pascal stared down to the fiery pit in disbelief when he heard something coming from the front. He turned to see another crystal creature but before it managed to hit Pascal a skeleton followed it pushing it past Pascal and to the pit with other creatures. Pascal watched the tundra skeleton as it screamed her agony scream to the burning crystal things his heart warming up as he realized it was Skeleton. Pascal didn’t normally like her, she scared him, but seeing someone he knew was beyond joyful to him after having only seen these crystal zombie things. Skeleton turned her red eyes to Pascal who nodded as thanks. He was about to ask what had happened in the clan when a voice called his attention. A gaoler who Pascal did not know but who still called Pascal “brother” asked him to come closer Pascal asking who the gaoler was. The gaoler, slightly older than what Pascal what at the moment, said he was Grigori with title of “father”. He then proceeded to introduce the “Skelly Girl” and her corpse hounds, Skeleton’s familiars, they all looking Pascal with curious eyes. Pascal was about to ask what was going on but Grigori said they should not talk there and started to make his way to the temple pushing attacking crystal things away with his spear. Once the dragons, the skeleton and the hounds reached the temple and Grigori locked the door with a plank Pascal finally asked what the crystal things were. Grigori said they were his “children” Pascal thinking that could not be true. Skeleton pretended to be a zombie for a moment as to tell Pascal what the crystal creatures actually were. Pascal then proceed to ask where they had come from Grigori telling something about gods’ trick or punishment, maybe something about demons or monsters, Skeleton signed she had no idea. Question about the current year yielded even less clarity. Grigori gave Pascal a spear to use to defend himself telling him to hit the crystal head. He kept calling Pascal “brother” and Pascal came to conclusion it was just habit of his. After having been handed a weapon Pascal told Grigori that he was looking for a way to power up the lab underground. Grigori said the labs had been dormant for a very long time and would not power up but Pascal told what the mith had told him. Grigori thought what Pascal said and Skeleton demanded attention pointing her head towards south-west. Grigori watched the “Skelly Girl” and agreed the “Night Sister” might be able to help. Pascal’s question about who that was was totally ignored when the group made their way to temple’s sanctuary where Grigori prayed the five guardians to protect them while they escorted their “brother” out of the clan. While Grigori was reading his prayers Skeleton and her dogs demanded to know what he did in there that young, at least that was how he understood her demands for attention. Pascal told he came from future with the scientists’ time machine. Grigori having finished said it mattered not from where the “brother” had come, they would help him out of the ruins. Grigori, Skeleton and the dogs protected Pascal as they made their way to the southern gate. Grigori hoped the five protected the obelisk as they departed Pascal making his way towards the dark and quiet wood. He tried to figure out who was the “Night Sister” Grigori had mentioned. In the present the southern area was protected by Blacksnake who would not tolerate nickname “sister”, and Pascal found it hard to believe he would even be alive anymore. The western section on the other hand was guarded by Skeleton but she had been in the ruins. As Pascal walked forward in his thoughts occasionally glancing behind an unfamiliar voice asked what the servant of Windsinger was doing in there. Pascal tried to see who had talked but saw no one. The voice talked again guiding Pascal’s eyes to a dark fae looking down to Pascal. Pascal asked if the fae was the “Night Sister” Grigori had mentioned. The fae told the priest called her that and continued her real name was Nemo. Pascal knew of Nemo, she was clan’s founder and its leader Alfa’s mate. She had sealed Retsbiert during the summoning incident year before the obelisks were created and had been in stasis ever since due to the feat having drained her power. The fae asked if the two had met before noting that Pascal looked familiar. Pascal couldn’t answer where Nemo could have seen him and when so he just said he had come from the past using Tempest’s time machine. That seemed to make sense for the old fae and she didn’t ask more questions. Pascal in turn asked if the fae could help him make a crystal to power up the time machine so he could get back and Nemo said she would help. All Pascal had to do was dig her a crystal. Finding a crystal was not that hard and thanks to what Kolari had taught to Pascal on their free time he knew how to dig them up. After getting the crystal Nemo cast a spell on the crystal it starting to glow brightly as it was filled with magic. Nemo warned the magic in crystal would attract spirits and it would run out sooner or later. She suggested Pascal to hurry, no one wanted to be there more than they had to. Pascal thanked the founder and asked if she knew easy way to get back to the lab. He did not want to go back to the town again. Nemo said Louhi might be able to help him. She guarded the northern side of the clan and Pascal could find her by going through the western wood. East wasn’t much of an option the fairies having made it too lush to walk through. The fact that fairies still guarded the east meant Oberon and Astor were still alive, though Pascal had always thought their fate had been worse than death so that wasn’t much of a surprise. Still, he was rather surprised to hear that Louhi was still alive and Pascal was nervous to go meet her. The clan had been her charge in a sense and it now in ruin there was no telling what the guardian’s mental state was. Nemo though assured the fellow mage would help and Pascal started to make his way across the western wood. As Pascal was making his way towards the north he realized he should go visit the Garden of Statues. It was still relatively new area in the present but it was used to memorialize deceased and Pascal thought about using it to figure out what year he was in. The garden was in where it was in the present and unlike the town area, it was quiet and looked peaceful. Upon entering Pascal was shocked by the number of statues in there and he started to read through who had died and when before the clan had fallen to ruin. He saw many familiar and unfamiliar names and he kind of feared to find his own statue somewhere among the statues. He stopped to stand before Lokakuu’s statue, the first statue in the entire garden it depicting one of Pascal’s sons who had died soon after the Night of the Nocturne before Pascal’s first wind holiday. Old voice asked who was walking among the statues the two old obelisks stepping out of a cave. A silt wolf ran to greet Pascal as the two old dragons walked closer Tadaborgite recognizing their father after getting close enough. Next to him was Zera, the one who had made most of the statues in the garden. Pascal was about to cry when he saw two of his children still alive and fought the urge to rush to hug them. Tadaborgite asked how he was there and how he looked so young Pascal telling he had come from the past before asking what had happened in the clan. Tadaborgite played his harp to see if he could see what Pascal was talking about while Zera told that they did not know for sure. There had been that sudden sickness that had turned the residents to those mindless crystal creatures and those who didn’t get sick escaped. Tadaborgite had gotten his verification and added that few decide to stay behind to make sure no one walked into the infected lair or if they got there they got out safely. Pascal couldn’t fight his curiosity and asked what happened to him both children staying completely silent. Zera turned her head towards the part of the garden Pascal had not checked yet he seeing few obelisks statues in there. Tadaborgite told what had happened to each of their siblings and Pascal asked him to tell what happened to the two who had brought him out of the birth cavern. Zera told what had happened to each of them. Tadaborgite, noticing the crystal Pascal was carrying, asked what it was for. Pascal told he was trying to return to the past both children thinking that was for the best. They escorted their father out of the garden and as they were saying goodbyes Tadaborgite asked Pascal to try prevent the infection if possible. Pascal couldn’t promise anything other than that he would try. Louhi found Pascal soon after he had stepped to her wood the old guardian being very cranky asking what he was doing in there. The wood had been eerie in the past and it was worse in the future Skeleton having seemingly donated her weapon bones for the guardian. Pascal told he was trying to reach the labs and not wanting to deal with her visitor longer than needed Louhi told one of her familiars to dig route for Pascal. After the tunnel was ready the guardian asked Pascal to go disregarding Pascal’s “thank you”. Pascal entered the lab from different direction than what he had left and after walking back and forth for a moment he managed to locate the generator room where the mith was already waiting. Pascal dropped the crystal to the ground and after verifying it had enough energy the mith connected the crystal to the generator. It powered the machines and the two made their way to the time machine. Pascal set up the coordinates he was given and after that the two stepped into the cylinder before the machine warmed up and sent them back. In the past the scientists were waiting for their return and they were all happy to see both time travelers safe. They asked why the mith had not come back the mith telling the lab had had no power and all the generators were broken. He had to fix them while Pascal had gotten the energy source. Hearing about the abandoned lab confused all the scientists and they asked what the rest of the clan had looked like. Pascal was feeling tired and most definitely was not going to explain what he had seen. He just said he didn’t want to talk about it and asked to be let to go rest. Tempest offered her bed, which Pascal declined, while everyone else watched Pascal leave in total silence with his dog. What Pascal had seen had been horrifying but at the very least it seemed to be decades away. Before Pascal exited the building he asked the scientists to not go to that time, ever. |

Traits
Pascal is a water obelisk with yellowish orange spotted body, red wings with python pattern and glittering grayish green underbelly, horns and lower jaw. He has bushy red mane, tail and leg furs they having darker red spots. He has somewhat large horns and long tail while being physically rather chunky and small when compared to other obelisks. His ears point slightly upwards and he has slightly darker eyes to more common water eyes. Pascal wears the clothes he obtained when going to visit the ice domain they having been enchanted to keep him comfy in any kind of weather. He has warm coat, boots, gloves and tail warmer as well as goggles to protect his eyes he having preferred more yellowish clothes but unable to find that color he settled with more greenish ones to go with his underbelly. Around his neck he has a scarf to protect his throat he having not found green and yellow so he picked red and yellow to go with his main colors. On his waist he carries a map of Sornieth which he uses when travelling across the continent he using it to plan his journey and mark down any interesting places. After getting job as clan’s wind ambassador he has been carrying the ambassador symbols emblem on his forehead and tome on his waist as well as the halo behind his head once he obtained that thanks to his enthusiasm towards his job. His coat also has a small pocket inside just below the neck hole where Pascal’s pet dog tends to travel. Pascal has energetic and clear voice and he has generally very encouraging tone. He isn’t the most talky dragon around but can keep up a conversation with no problems he being able to understand many dialects and can imitate few thanks to regularly coming in contact with different ones. Naturally he has mild Chinese accent. Pascal is curious dragon who enjoys travelling and exploring new places. The pull to travel was so strong it has basically drowned the sense of needing to protect with which he had born yet he still has that need too. He is generally optimistic dragon who wants to support others and he is especially ready to protect anyone he doesn’t hate be those his family members or random travelers he met just a moment ago. Though very kind and polite dragon Pascal is fierce when protecting someone he refusing to be beaten if that could risk someone but he also has no will to kill anyone for any reason. He is a travelling protector, not a travelling beast. Pascal is a social dragon and is always happy to meet new dragons. He gets easily attached and he remembers every encounter he has fondly were they with other dragons or beastclan members. He though isn’t clingy and leaving others behind is never that hard for him he being sure they can take care of themselves and he is going to meet lovely dragons and other creatures. As company Pascal is generally supporting and encouraging and lending a hand is no big deal for him he enjoying helping others. It is very hard to anger Pascal and it needs very awful behavior before he sees anyone as bad person. He generally believes everyone is good deep down and every awful person is just misguided he preferring helping them over punishing them if they did something terrible. He though has his morals and won’t help anyone do crime even if they asked for whatever reason. Pascal has two companions both from wind region. Shin the Yorkshire terrier was his first company the terrier being gifted him as puppy by a kind family after Pascal stayed with them for some time. Shin has traveled with Pascal its entire life and is very used to hanging out inside his coat when they travel from one place to another. It enjoys travelling and is generally nice to others but it has habit of barking a lot either because it is afraid due to its small size or it is excited. It can’t speak but it has been present in enough interactions to understand words, though not perfectly it often misunderstanding situations. Freedom the spirit of wind joined Pascal after he became a wind ambassador it being his ambassador familiar. Freedom is chill and often silent it usually just minding its own business being able to use telepathy if need to be. It and Pascal have good relationship even though the two barely interact Freedom flying somewhere when Pascal is in his office and while he is somewhere else be that due to exploration or ambassador job it looks after the embassy they generally changing few words when they change places. Pascal as a water dragon is naturally a skillful swimmer and diver though he is nothing out of ordinary when it comes to other water dragons. He hasn’t been interested in practicing water magic nor does he has vision skills. He can though spit water he specializing in thin high-pressure stream that can cut wood if he tries that and he can also spit water in more gentle watering can way. Water temperature can range from cold to boiling hot. Like most obelisks Pascal can turn to stone statue he gaining yellowy limestone cover when doing so. When in statue form he is like in deep sleep not really hearing or seeing what is going on around him but he can still wake up like any other dragon to a loud sound or being watered. Unlike real limestone Pascal is resistant to erosion and can't be hurt badly in his stone form. The cover protects him from harm and hitting him while in stone may not cause harm to him at all. Pascal travels a lot and due to that he is good with navigating with or without a map. On his spare time he has practices navigating with stars just in case but he generally prefers maps and compass. He is good with maps knowing most of the marks by heart and he is decent with drawing them too though he would not give his maps to anyone. Due to flying a lot, mainly to reach the Cloudsong, Pascal is very good and durable flyer for someone who is not a wind dragon. He is also durable walker. |
