Biography
When hatching Oberon was the only hatchling in the hatchery to not have any siblings. He though was not bothered by that feeling like he was somewhat special instead not having hatched as one of many. He didn't like other hatchlings in the hatchery finding them noisy and childish and the other hatchlings didn't like him either saying he was bossy. Oberon didn't believe that he just trying to make others behave better but because no one, not even their caretaker, agreed with that he just spent his time apart from his coevals leaving the hatchery first of them. Upon leaving the hatchery Oberon noticed that he did not get along with older dragons either. Regular residents lived underground while dragons having important jobs lived near their offices Oberon wanting to be one of them. The architects didn't want to make houses for regulars above ground they easily blocking the stars and Oberon left after he noticed he could not turn Rosalin's head. After that he tried to convince the leaders to form a council believing members of that could get fancy offices and thus fancy houses to themselves but both leaders agreed they needed no council. Oberon was disappointed council work having been something he could have considered doing. With that job out of question he decided to try getting another job. Both of clan's leaders were rather old already and Oberon decided to try convince them to retire. Suggesting that to Alfa seemed to give a good laugh to his guardian Obsidius the old mirror saying the young skydancer was not suited to take his mantle. Tinker was not as polite she forcing Oberon to do some chores saying that with just looking for ways to avoid doing those he would never be suited to take her mantle. Morgana pretty much repeated what her charge told but Oberon refusing to do chores again the two ended up arguing. The argument was stopped when Astor, one of Oberon's coevals, arrived to defend the younger dragon. He actually ruined the situation for Oberon he needing to back down to avoid getting crushed by two fighting guardians. After getting out of the situation Oberon tried to get to the Hoard to see if there was anything he could use to decorate his ugly nest he seemingly not getting pretty one for free. While there Astor came to see him Oberon asking what he wanted. He knew they had not been close when in hatchery, not even close. Astor explained something about charges and stuff and explained he had had need to step in to protect Oberon. At first Oberon was annoyed by having a guardian follow him everywhere he understanding what the situation was and attempted to leave the guardian alone. Howeverm after hearing Astor ask not leave him without a charge Oberon changed his mind he potentially finding him useful as servant. After that Astor followed Oberon when he was forced to join gatherings Tinker seemingly bothering to find him to do so. He assumed the reason was that he had annoyed her. When they had tasked to find whatever it was that time Oberon asked Astor to do that for him he just walking after him threatening to leave him alone if he didn't do as asked. He knew that bothered Astor but he didn't care. They joined gatherings every night and though having Astor do all the work for him Oberon hated them and started to wonder if he and Astor could find a way to stop being forced to join them. Overthrowing the leaders could work but even without the guardians getting rid of the leaders would be hard. The Trickmurk Circus had started and Oberon was forced to search for the festival goodies the shadow dragons having been nasty enough to force others to work for them. Like usual Oberon was with Astor taking a different path to rest of the group. They were tasked to find some pinecones and jadevines Oberon just watching as Astor watched under every bramble bush to find what they were asked to. While doing so something caught Oberon's attention he making his way through a nearby bush to the thick undergrowth Astor soon following. After making his way through the prickly plants he saw a small gemstone hiding in there his skydancer senses telling him it was powerful. Astor too saw the gemstone and told Oberon they should not touch it but Oberon didn't care about his opinion. He knew that by possessing the stone he could have his wish granted and reached to grab it. He was about to reach it when a voice nearby asked what he wanted with the stone Oberon seeing a driftwood gem guardian float closer warning taking it as it would not let him take the stone. It would anger the Shadowbinder. The gem guardian reached the stone Oberon not caring about the shadow deity asking what the wisp was going to do to stop him attempting to take the stone with force ignoring Astor's plead to stop. Oberon was not sure if the bush came to life or if the gem guardian turned into the bush but its vines launched towards him Astor pushing him out of the way being stuck to fight them instead. Oberon was not sure what was happening but soon noticed the entire wood looked like trying to get him and scared ran away he somehow managing to avoid the branches as he got to the festival portal it taking him to the arcane domain in where he flied to the lair as fast as possible. In there he tried to not show the residents that something had scared him and walked to his nest like nothing had happened. Oberon saw restless dreams and upon waking up he noticed Astor had not come back he fearing the shadow deity had taken him. After getting out of the nest Oberon saw Tinker organize that night's gathering group he having no intentions to get back to that wood the gem guardian probably attacking him as soon as he flied there. He decided to sneak out of the lair to the Dream Wood to avoid being forced to join he feeling Tinker's cold glance on his back praying she did not know what he tried to do with the gemstone linking to her element. The ridgeback didn't try to follow him and after finding a hide Oberon took a sight of relief. Oberon though was not able to rest for long the wood soon starting to call and mock him. Scared he tried to ran away unaware of who was talking to him and where that something was. He had not gotten far away from the lair but somehow he managed to get lost and when he stopped trying to figure out where he was supposed to go he heard someone call him the gem thief just above him. He turned his head to see who it was seeing a lot of fairies they saying the gem guardian sent its wishes as they dropped a giant crown on him it falling to his shoulders Oberon feeling like crow's teeth bit his neck. Oberon tried to remove the crown the teeth having sank to his neck making it impossible he feeling like his neck and head were melting. As he slowly lost control over himself the largest of the fairies flied down telling the gem guardian had warned him and now he had to pay the price. Once it was all over Oberon did not feel his head yet it seemed to be where it used to be, and he had absolutely no control over himself the largest fairy controlling him like puppet on a string using his mouth to answer to Tahna when they encountered him. He, or rather the fairies, told him that Oberon belonged to them now, and Oberon knew there was nothing he could do. Astor arrived to the wood before sunrise he looking like shadow of himself, literally. He turned more dragon like once the Sun rose but remained silent as if under a spell he doing as the fairies told without a question. As they walked across the wood carrying the fairies with them the leader of the fairies told that they now had a king and a bodyguard Oberon feeling like they knew about his wish of becoming a leader and were making fun of him now that he was their puppet king. During the following afternoon Kupari called them to the lair where Oberon saw that the priestess was with Tinker and Ayla the presence of the clan's only shadow dragons telling him that they knew. No one though mentioned about it as the fairy queen used Oberon to negotiate with the dragons about the state of Oberon and Astor. They ended up not freeing the two young dragons leaving them as puppets to the pixies when Trooper arrived to see the matter he suggesting they got to keep the two dragons if they guarded the road leading from lair to the Observatory in return. Oberon hated the suggestion but being under fairies' control there was nothing he could do and the pixies were not letting the two go after what Oberon had done. The fairies were fine with the suggestion and Oberon was stuck as slave to both the clan he was called home and the fairies controlling him like a puppet.

Traits
Oberon is an arcane skydancer having yellowish green sparkling body like wasps with darker stripes on his hind legs and tail and having purple striped wings with a bit of blue. His mane is dark purple and has slightly paler spines sticking out of it. Oberon has been cursed by fairies and technically has had his head cut off by a crown that has attached itself to Oberon's neck just above his shoulders it being basically part of his body. In place of the head he has pink mass of energy it being fluid on the front and turning hard crystals on the back side and on shoulders his eyes and antennae glowing among that energy. His bluish tail tuft is partly crystallized with same pink crystals as the neck, his hands are transparent pink like being part of magic. Oberon is used as flower breeding ground by fairies and because of that he has lilac roses growing on his legs, arms, tail and wings, on his tail and wings he has black tulips and under his wings he has purple grapes. There is also a lump of grass growing on his waist. Oberon lacks teeth and tongue having his head be pure magic. Oberon is controlled by fairies and they haven't bothered to dress him up that much. They have him wear a black crown as sign of being their "king" and he has purple and silver belt with amethyst on it which is a relic from the time he was still free-minded. Other than that he doesn't wear anything the pixies preferring his as natural as possible. Before being cursed Oberon had dry and uninterested voice with a bit rude tone and strong British accent. After being cursed though it changed a lot it now being echoic sounding like many voices talking at the same time in near perfect synchronization. He can't talk himself and often is just a voice his puppeteers use to talk which is why he talks like being many that are not dragons and if the conversation is about him he calls himself "he" because the ones talking are not him. He no longer has clear accent.
Before being cursed Oberon was proud dragon wanting to have luxury without needing to work for it he even planning to overthrow the leaders to get that. He wanted the luxury just to feel better than others and though not openly mean he was very passive aggressive towards other dragons and didn't care about them at all. After angering fairies and being cursed to act as their puppet Oberon has been mindless servant to them though he has kept his sentience to make the punishment effective. He hates the situation he is in and he hates everyone that have let it happen but feels hopeless unable to do anything to anyone. Oberon was not very social dragon he thinking about his own glory more than he thought about other dragons. He didn't care about having company but took the opportunity to have a servant when he saw that. After being cursed Oberon has grown to hate company having to listen fairies gossip all the time with no escape. He would even pick dragon company over having to listen the fairies over and over again and he rather avoided that before screwing up. Oberon has about ten fairies flying around him the eleventh one, and their leader, being magic nymph Titania. Titania is the one controlling Oberon he being her puppet king she enjoying reminding him about how the situation he is in is all his fault. She is sassy as are her underlings they all liking Oberon as their little toy and steed but seeing him otherwise as bad boy deserving his punishment. Oberon himself hates every single fairy that swarm around him and use him like he had no mind at all.
Oberon had not much time or interest to learn spells before becoming tool to fairies that giving him some powers the fairies have him use. He can become one with the arcane energy in the wood and he can hide within plants. He can also control the plants and animals and even take control over dragons he encounters if he is able to strike fast enough. He can breath magic and he can create and shoot magic spheres along with magical crystal shards. He also kept all of his senses from before the curse except for the taste. |
