Biography

Fiona and her two siblings hatched not long before earth's annual holiday. She was the middle child and wasn't that close with her siblings and they grew even more apart when Fiona started to prefer diurnal lifestyle while the other two remained nocturnal. Fiona didn't have a massive reason to prefer daytime. She just didn't care for stars that much and instead enjoyed sunlight wanting to experience it more than just the few hours before the Sun set.

The clan was entirely nocturnal beyond fully diurnal Megan though there were few dragon who woke up early afternoon instead of early evening. Fiona did enjoy the silence of daytime clan and spent that time reading some novels but she soon noticed she wanted to do something else than just read all day until everyone woke up. Due to clan's nocturnal lifestyle there though was not much that could be done during days, except cleaning which Megan already did and which Fiona hated.

Near the end of the Rockbreaker's Lief arrived to the clan. He was a diurnal dragon but he had known about clan's nocturnal lifestyle and had arrived at the evening because of that. However, he had been tired after his journey and he had gone to sleep soon after arriving waking up near midday instead of before sunrise like he had planned. The cafeteria door was open, because it was also the nature embassy and dragons needed to reach the ambassador if there was an emergency, but the cafeteria owner was asleep. Pix had a sign that said that others could wake her up if they wanted food during daytime but both Fiona and Lief agreed the cafeteria owner deserved to sleep due to all the work she did every night.

To give Lief his breakfast, and to get something to eat herself, Fiona decided to take Pix's place and got them something to eat. Luckily Pix had habit of making food ready for those who arrived early or during day and Fiona didn't need to cook herself. She had no experience and burnt food would no doubt wake the ambassador up. While they ate the two passed time by chatting. Lief was an old dragon already he having studied in the Pillar and worked now as gemologist. Meanwhile Fiona was young and had nothing that could be called "work". As Fiona explained how the clan rolled every night Lief suggested she could try work as daylight substitute for Pix and Vataja who ran the inn next door. They were nocturnal but the dragons visiting the clan were often diurnal and it would be nice for the two dragon to sleep. Fiona promised to consider the work though she was not sure if she could handle the fuss.

Lief got used to clan's nocturnal lifestyle and Fiona spent her days wondering if she should give his suggestion a shot. About a week after the earth's holiday ended Hillo returned to the clan. Apparently he was a resident who had left a bit over half a year ago in order to follow the holidays and perform during them and during that time he had gotten used to diurnal lifestyle. Fiona served him something to eat while Pix was sleeping the two chatting to get to know each other. After Fiona told what she did, which was nothing, and what Lief had suggested Hillo agreed she should try that job and so did Pix who had woken up because of one of Hillo's familiars.

Fiona felt a bit weird standing behind cafeteria's counter where Pix usually stood and as a reaction said she didn't fit the job as she could not cook. To Pix that was a weak reason as she could learn some simple recipes, and Vataja could teach her how to run inn while he was awake. Pix explained he definitely needed someone to run the inn during days while Hillo made sure she didn't diminish her own need. Beside, need for daytime help was pretty much seasonal. Fiona had plenty of time to learn before next season and plenty of time to recover from the next one once it would be over, unlike Pix who had to run the cafeteria for both the visitors and the residents.

Fiona decided to give the daylight substitute job a try for to have at least something to do. She started by learning to run the cafeteria so she could serve Megan and her familiars. After getting some kind of hang of that Vataja, who had also been happy to have someone help around the inn, taught her basics of how to run the inn. Fiona knew the ridgeback knew some spells that could make the inn bigger if needed but Fiona didn't want to learn them and Vataja didn't see that necessary. He taught how to keep track of what rooms were booked and what were free, how to keep keys in order and how to deal with visitors. After that was all done Fiona went to wait for daylight visitors hoping they wouldn't be that common.

Life was peaceful for Fiona; she stayed out of clan dramas and politics and the residents knew better than to bother her with them. The daytime visitors were also rare enough that they didn’t bother her with the boring topics either that much. For months life was good but as Fiona listened the occasional daylight visitors a nagging feeling started to develop inside her until it got too much nearing an excavation of a magic library during late autumn. All the visitors and most of the residents had some events they had been part of in the past and there were events they were hoping to be part of in the future. Fiona is turn had no such events in the past nor in the future and that realization had started to make her feel empty and incomplete. If one really thought about it she wasn’t really anyone, she was just a prop that appeared when needed.

Few residents were fine with being basically nobodies, some even lacked any clear role in the clan, but all of Fiona’s relatives had roles in the clan, some were even very important, and she didn’t want to be the outlier. Technically she had a role though it was so insignificant that she was just one of the roleless residents. She didn’t really know how to fix the empty feeling inside herself. She could have asked her relatives help but she didn’t want to meet her mother due to her low spirituality, her father Pascal was not home at the moment and neither was her older brother Borgite, Tadaborgite freaked her out and her nest brother Lenny no longer lived in the clan and neither did Marjatta even if the two had gotten along in the first place. That left her nest sister Zera and though the two had opposing views in many things, spirituality especially, Fiona decided to pay her a visit.

Fiona felt a bit uneasy as she walked towards the Garden of Statues. The path to the memorial grounds was quite dark and during the shortest and darkest days of the year it was even darker. To add to that Megan and Farkku had recently mentioned having been approached by a mysterious entity which neither Kupari or Undreg had been able to contact which then had prompted them to ask the residents to be wary. Fiona was a bit skeptical when it came to ghosts, undeads and other mystery beings but after what had happened with Naru and later Sleight she couldn’t really treat them as mere stories and she was not quite sure what she should do exactly during a supernatural encounter. Luckily she had no such encounter on her way to the Garden and she took a sigh of relief before she walked through the gate.

Once in the Garden Fiona started to make her way towards Zera’s nest but on her way she stopped in front of Lokakuu’s statue. Their olden brother had wanted to become a healer but he had lost his life while gathering herbs and Fiona wondered if it was better to remain as an unsignificant resident, at lest her chance of dying would be smaller. Zera had noticed Fiona in the Garden and she came to see what her sister did in there, she had never visited the place before. The memorial maker had lost her sight in the same incident where Lokakuu lost his life and Fiona wondered if remaining as a normal resident would protect her from permanent injuries as well.

Zera asked what Fiona was doing in the Garden and the second-guesses made the diurnal obelisk stumble with her words. The blind obelisk didn’t believe that her sister had come to see her and eventually the diurnal dragon managed to say that she was feeling a little lost in her life. Zera suggested Fiona to visit Tadaborgite as she considered the past seer a better help than her but his many eyes made Fiona feel uncomfortable. The future seers were also out of question; Astral didn’t like Fiona, Fiona didn’t like Tarantula, Itameri was scary and Midnight was way too cryptic. Zera took that as Fiona being difficult and she told her sister to figure out her needs herself and then start working from there. That was more tips than what Fiona had expected to get and she decided to return to the lair, it was getting late for her standards.

Fiona thought of what Zera had said about figuring out her needs first, though she might have also meant wishes as well. The daylight substitute didn’t really have either, or if she did she didn’t know what they were. Then a whisper nearby caused her to stop on her tracks. Fiona’s eyes glanced over the surroundings to see who asked for her attention and soon enough a weird dragon emerged from a shadow, it looked a bit like an auraboa. Fiona asked who the dragon was and they told they were Tardow before asking if they had heard Fiona’s name right. Apparently they had eavesdropped on the sisters while they had been talking though they insisted that they meant no harm. Fiona was not quite sure about that one; Tardow had way too many legs for her liking and their whispering tone felt uncanny.

The uncanny dragon was either unbothered by Fiona’s unease or they did not notice it. They just asked if they had understood the obelisk’s problem right, that she was feeling lost in her life. Fiona wasn’t sure what she should have done and just answered affirmatively. Tardow then asked if she was related to the priestess. Fiona looked nothing like her parents, except for sharing the red wings and mane with her father, though naturally she shared genes with both of them. She had inherited two of her three genes from Kupari and being the only two dragons with filigree in the clan the guess made sense. The smart idea would have been to deny the connection but Fiona was too confused and tired to realize that and she answered affirmatively yet again.

Tardow seemed amused by Fiona’s low spirituality when taking into consideration her mother and the obelisk snapped back asking what the visitor wanted exactly. They told they just wanted to help her. Fiona wasn’t entirely buying what Tardow was saying but asked what they were suggesting her to do. They asked if she was wanting to start a new life of sorts, to become someone new. They said that the best start would be a makeover of sorts to signify she was in process of reborning. Her outfit looked already great, like she was a royalty of sorts which apparently wasn’t that far of for a daughter of a priestess, her genes though could use some tweaking. Tardow suggested Fiona to change her genes to cut ties to her past and though Fiona thought that would be an expensive thing to do she agreed fresh look would not be a bad start. She asked if Tardow had any ideas for new look and all they said was “something a bit more royal”. Fiona thanked Tardow and attempted to leave though before she got far the visitor asked her to keep the meeting as a secret. After that they dived into a shadow like it was water and vanished there.

Fiona was rather sure Tardow was the mystery entity that had approached Megan and Farkku and while those two had mentioned about the encounter to the priestess and the exorcist Fiona decided to remain silent. She could not even imagine what kind of drama would be ignited if the clan found out that a daughter of the priestess had been approached by the mystery entity and she absolutely didn’t want to find out how bad it could get. In the lair Fiona checked how much money she had cumulated with her work. She earned least from the cafeteria staff because she worked the least but she had enough money for a makeover. She explored the options and eventually she refreshed her look with quite expensive genes. Valenca was fast to ask what had gotten into her coworker and Fiona just told she had just wanted some change in her life. It was clear the nocturne wanted to know more but she knew that Fiona would not give her more.

Fiona met with Tardow again few days later. She had been walking towards the library around midday when the worm had emerged from a shadow of a nearby tree saying Fiona looked like a royalty now. The makeover had made her feel a bit better about herself and she thanked Tardow for the suggestion. They were happy to hear that and asked if she needed more help with figuring herself out. Fiona thanked them for the offer but said she wanted to try do it by herself first. Tardow understood and said they’d be happy to help if she ever needed more help. Fiona promised to keep that in mind and the two went their separate ways.

Traits

Fiona is an arcane obelisk with brownish green body that has dark purple spots with dark yellowish green borders and red wings with black diamond pattern and hint of blue. She has lush mane that has black and red stripes and blue tips, her leg furs are red and likewise have blue tips but lack black markings while her tail tuft is blue on the base and turns red towards the tips. Her jaw, underbelly, horns and eyelids are glimmering green. She has large goblin like ears and slightly larger than average horns that turn clearly outwards. She has slightly darker eyes than most arcane dragons and they have turned even darker after she met with Tardow.

Fiona does mainly service job and wears fancy clothes that still signal her slightly prickly personality. She wears murky green crown and large collar it having big murky yellow gem hanging from it. From the collar hangs murky green rose banners similar decorating her tail as well it being held by a purple cover. She has similar covers on her arms and legs they protecting her from the thorns of the black roses that decorate her arms, legs, waist, wings and longer horns. Under her side banners she has bright green shroud that protects her from both the waist roses as well as roses on wings when they are on resting position. On her arms she has a dark ring on each of the fingers the middle ones having a murky yellow gem.

Fiona is direct but overall polite speaker but she tends to be a bit indifferent about most topics. "Something like that" and "whatever" phrases are common in her speech but beyond that she is easy dragon to chat with she being clear and respectful even when the topic doesn't interest her. She has clear German accent.

Fiona is a chill dragon who doesn't care about drama no matter what it is about. She likes working for the clan and helping others but she does that with her own terms. She does help if asked but if she is busy, tired or not in the mood she will make it very clear that she is not going to do what was asked. Asking her to take sides in dramas or other debates is a sure way to get a "no" answer from her followed by a short lecture about dealing with the issue with themselves. She usually has some kind of opinion about situation but she shares it only if she feels like it and usually she just doesn't. She is rarely part of the topics and prefers to deal with her work and rest instead of looking for entertainment from others' drama.

Fiona is one of the few diurnal dragons in the clan and it benefits her to not be too dependent on social interactions. She does like to chat when given a chance but she can totally go days without talking to anyone if need to be. She prefers peace over fuss which was a big reason why she prefers diurnal lifestyle along with just preferring sunlight over starlight. She doesn't like drama or arguing and avoids big groups and events because they feel like being rather common in those situations. If she hangs out with someone it is usually in cafeteria during quiet hours and usually with one or two, maximum three, dragons. Any larger groups is just an argument waiting to happen and she leaves before it gets to her nerves.

Fiona is often accompanied by two special individuals. Merida the condorwing champion is a good friend of Fiona and the two often work together. Both share the love for simple work and peace as well as daytime and generally like to share opinions with one another without getting involved with any kind of drama. Merida is more pacifist than what her original home clan was and she left it in order to avoid conflict which she didn't want to experience. Despite Merida's origin Fiona trusts her and Merida trusts Fiona is able to keep her safe from hostile dragons. Along with Merida Fiona is also accompanied by Drake the harlequin feathercroak. It is like a pet to both Fiona and Merida and despite being the only one out of them unable to talk Dragonian it is still smart enough to make itself understood other ways. Both Fiona and Merida are aware of how Drake is smarter than a simple pet and treat the little one as their equal. It is often allowed to help them with their work and it has got knack for making food and cleaning dishes as well as organizing them.

Fiona isn't that into magic and has bothered to learn the bare minimum. She can levitate items and change their sizes to make them more usable for both herself and her coworkers. Beyond that she doesn't really use magic and prefers to do things with as little magic as possible. She doesn't have any standout skills but she can cook a little bit and she can use little bit of sign language. She can also speak few words or Harpy language but not enough to have a full on conversation.

Like most of the obelisk dragons Fiona can turn to stone she taking a deep green chrysoprase form when doing so. When in statue her state doesn't differ much from a deep sleep except for the fact that she doesn't have touch and that her senses are much weaker. She likes to sleep in her statue form as that way others have harder time bothering her rest.
