Biography

![]() |
Retsbiert
![]() The Bone Lord |
Form: Unknown
Thread Level: Very High
Personality
Retsbiert appears peaceful and helpful but the friendly visage hides Their true nature. They are manipulative and easily turn any conversation to forward Their own goals while skillfully swiping questions of others under the dirt. They are willing to lie if that will make the other party do what They wish for. Their ultimate goal is not known but it appears to be either absolute control over “lesser beings” or return to a “true form”, possibly both. They appear to think of Themselves as a god of some kind though it is not known if that relates to Their past or is it just megalomania.
History
Very little is known of Retsbiert’s past. They were sealed within Sarvva though there are very few texts mentioning such an event. Either it was wiped out of the past out of shame or as a form of sabotage or it predates written history. Their seal was broken after the summoners tried and failed to summon the Shade within the lair. After being freed Retsbiert approached Their liberators offering to help them contact the Shade as a form of gratitude. They mentioned having been sealed by an evil cult but that statement is most likely false. After forming an alliance with the summoners They formed a plan to gather as many boned creatures within the lair while also directing the moons to eclipse the Sun. As the day of the eclipse approached the summoners closed off the lair and got rid of all the dragons who could prevent their plan from succeeding. When the eclipse reached its deepest phase Retsbiert appeared in the lair where They used the power of the eclipse to take control of every bone in the lair be they in the Hoard or within a living being. They demanded everyone to submit to Them but before anyone gave in Lumi and Ninya rushed into the lair to stop Them. That released everyone from Their control and the clan and the reinforcements started their efforts to defeat the wyvern-like being and the summoners. After a long battle Nemo was able to seal Retsbiert into the ground but fell into coma herself. The summoners were driven out and a memorial was placed to mark the spot where Retsbiert was sealed.
Abilities
Full extend of Retsbiert’s powers is not known but They were able to use telepathy on a very wide area most likely covering entirety of Dream Wood area. They were also able to become one with the ground and move from one place to another that way. During the eclipse They were able to take control over every bone within the lair be they a decorative piece, a meal leftover or a skeleton of a still living being. They were recorded having forced everyone to bow and when they refused to submit They made them battle against each other. Everyone remained conscious of their actions during that. It is not known how the eclipse relates to Their power but it is possible They drew power from either the darkness or the overlapping of the celestial bodies. It is also possible They could have enslaved minds as well if one would have submitted to Them but that is speculative.
Relations
Very little is known of Retsbiert’s relations as They are only known having interacted with the summoners. It is possible they interacted with the fellow creatures of the wood during the lead up to the Summoning Incident but it is also possible they let the summoners do that for Them.
Shadow and Sapny
Shadow and Sapny are the two summoners who released and later worked with Retsbiert. They had promised They would help the two lunatics contact the Shade with which they were obsessed with and instructed them to organize the Summoning Incident. The two later apologized the event and told Retsbiert had lied to them. Though the clan is still skeptical of the two they have made no attempt to release the wyvern-like being from Their prison and it is possible they are in longer in ties.

Contacting
Retsbiert is sealed underneath the Summoning Incident memorial. Trying to contact the being is illegal and any and all attempts are to be punished as dictated by the majority. Answering to Them in case of a telepathic communication is also illegal and such efforts must be reported to authorities immediately.
Old Entry: (Archived Nov. 28th 2024)
Out of all spirits roaming the wood Retsbiert was believed to be one of the few to be truly ancient. They appeared one evening claiming to have been sealed away by a wicked cult long ago before being freed by an magical explosion having had its source in the clan. At first They appeared as peaceful and even helpful but eventually Their true intentions came to light and They were once again sealed away withing the ground of the lair.
Though Retsbiert was easy to approach and talk to next to nothing is known about Them. They were manipulative being able to turn conversations to something that benefited Them easily leaving asked questions unanswered without notice. They drove to gather as many beings with skeletons to have Their power to control every bone, be that a lone meal leftover, buried body or skeleton within a living being, revealed when the Moons covered the Sun. Why They had that power and what it was used for remain as total mystery not even old texts found within the ruins that sealed Them giving answers. It is not even sure if They were originally a banescale and if They originally possessed earth element as it could be result of being sealed to the ground for a very long time. It also wasn't known how old of a being Retsbiert truly was. As They are now sealed withing the ground under the lair it is forbidden to try any summoning spells without an experienced summoner keeping an eye on the process to prevent them accidentally freeing Retsbiert again. Everyone is also obligated to inform if someone unnamed is communicating through telepathy as Retsbiert was known to able to contact anyone they pleased within the wood.
Name origin: Named after a Deity from one of Finlandia's stories. She has yet to decide what the name means and at the moment it has about six different meanings.
