Biography

Skeleton’s egg was stolen when arcane and plague were investigating weird things happening near the border. During that time few dragons from the clan volunteered to join the forces of the Observatory and some of them, afraid of what their neighbor could do, took the opportunity and raided nests hiding one egg in their home clan. The clan took care of the enemy egg and after the situation was solved they decided to hatch it.

Skeleton was very happy and curious hatchling but at the same time she was disobedient and incautious. She knew the clan was not her real family and didn’t feel obligated to obey most of the residents and most of the time did exactly what she was told not to do. She was told many times to not even approach Glade but Skeleton couldn’t resist especially after noticing how the imperial hated it. She liked to run away from him and try to escape once he managed to catch her, and sneaking into his lab to see his stuff was great way to start that. That was fun but rest of the clan tried to prevent her from doing that and eventually Glade started to keep lab locked leaving Skeleton with nothing to do.

Bored Skeleton tried to sneak into others’ private places and dig up their secrets and though they didn’t like it either their reactions were too dull to be actually funny. After being scared by Halloween she tried the same but was a bit too impatient to pull it off successfully. However, when she was trying to strike Glade she heard him talking with her elemental father Tahna about how dragons of their element used other dragons as their toys.

Tahna disagreed with the imperial but Skeleton wondered if that would be fun. She left the males alone and looked for small dragons who were all faes for her. She found one fae and after catching it played with her finding it fun. She would have continued that for longer but the fae's familiar came to save her and before Skeleton could start a chase Tahna came to stop her. He was angry with her and told her to never do that ever again even when Skeleton told being bored and having had fun by doing what he was against. He didn’t listen and swore her life could turn a lot more boring if she didn’t behave.

Skeleton wasn’t concerned about what Tahna had said and caught another fae the next night to have some fun before Tahna came to stop that. He repeated what he had said last time but Skeleton didn’t care and was upset about how the faes started to hide from her after that. She didn’t mind looking for them and was happy to have reason to explore places. Catching them though became harder as they usually either saw her bright fur or heard her large steps before she saw them and flew away leaving her into dust.

One night Skeleton managed to find an elderly fae she had not seen before and smelling an easy prey she started a chase. The dragon though was fast for someone so old and Skeleton ran after it for a long time before it turned around far from the lair. Skeleton, believing it had given up, charged forward but stopped as soon as strong magic started to rip her apart. She later woke up being surrounded by her clan mates Tahna looking the most worried. They asked her all kinds of questions but she could not answer with words. Her fur and flesh were gone with only bones remaining and she could only scream like she was in pain even though she didn’t feel anything.

She was brought to clan’s healers but they could not help her and not being able to communicate with them she couldn’t tell who had done this and just watched as everyone blamed Glade. She soon noticed that ability to speak was not the only thing that she had lost as she did no longer feel hunger nor did she need to sleep and running was near impossible. Not having anything to do Skeleton just walked around the lair listening others talk what to do with her she slowly getting used to the sound of her bones clattering.

Eventually one night the clan held a conference in where all agreed Skeleton could not live in the lair as she scared their visitors and residents alike. She was forced to live in the wood surrounding the lair and driven back there if she tried to get back in the lair. Feeling left out she walked back and forth the wood and its caves pouring her frustration to everything that moved. It took weeks for Tahna to come meet her and Skeleton not having had a company in ages was more than happy to see him again despite his clear disappointment. He was sorry about what had happened and reminded it could have been avoided. He gave her a cloak to protect her bones from sunlight and left promising to come see her later.

Living in the wood with nothing to do made Skeleton a bit apathetic. The longer she stayed in there the more she just lied on the ground trying catch anything that came close enough. Tahna visited her every now and then and those meetings were the highlights of Skeleton’s otherwise boring life. They were nothing special, he just checked if she was alright, if the cover was still a cover and updated what was going on in the clan. That wasn’t much but when compared to nothing it felt a lot.

One night Skeleton heard Tahna approaching and happy to have some company she walked to meet him. She was quite surprised when she noticed he was not alone but was with an unfamiliar dragon who, like Tahna, carried symbol of the Plaguebringer and Skeleton knew she could trust them. Tahna introduced Skeleton to them and explained he had asked them to maybe teach her some skills which made Skeleton somewhat excited.

At first they tested how Skeleton was able to move followed by test to see what would happen if they picked her bones. Ever since having been turned into a skeleton Skeleton had been able to keep herself whole without much effort through some kind of magic and she was able to pull her bones back without issues. After that the guest suggested her to try to disembody herself which was a lot harder. After trying for hours without feeling tired she finally managed to make herself collapse and putting herself back together was a lot easier. The servants of the Plaguebringer told her to practice that and left saying they’d try new tricks once they had taken a rest.

During the next visit the guest asked Skeleton to try throw her bones forward. She didn’t quite understand what that meant and they told to try to get outside herself and control her own bones with her mind like an arcane dragon using telekinesis. That was very hard and after many failed attempts Tahna suggested her to disembody herself first but even after that it was hard. Eventually she managed to throw her leg forward though it returned back as soon as it left. Some hours later the guest picked Skeleton’s head and threw it away asking her to not attach it back to the body but bring it to Tahna. That was hard but it turned out to be easier than trying to throw bones still part of the body and they were able to stop after half an hour.

During the next few visits the plague dragons kept practicing controlling bones and eventually Skeleton was able to move her bones independent of others and even learned to use that to defend herself. After that they practiced to move bones not her own similar way and after all the practice it was very easy. Upon learning that the guest told Tahna that it was all they could teach to her and Skeleton was sad to have the lessons end. Tahna though told Skeleton to keep practicing the skills just in case they became useful and Skeleton promised to do that.

Later Skeleton was walking through the wood when she heard sound of battling and upon hearing Tahna’s voice she rushed there by throwing her bones towards the sound. When she arrived she found Glade battling with tired Tahna and not wanting the imperial to hurt him she joined the battle. She had no more bones with her and tried to hold the imperial with the bones she had. She couldn't do much but at least she could protect Tahna from imperial’s hits she not being affected by them the same way as Tahna was. They were losing when a bold of magic hit Glade and turned him into crystal. Once that was completed a small dragon fell from a tree and upon noticing it to be the same that had turned her into a skeleton Skeleton panicked and ran away leaving Tahna behind.

Skeleton didn’t saw Tahna until nights later when he came to inform what had been going on in the lair. What mattered the most was what Tahna had been talking with clan’s security officers. They had been thinking about making defense sectors around the lair and every sector would have a dragon to take care of it. Tahna had suggested that Skeleton, not having anything else to do, could be one of those and Skeleton liked the idea.

Skeleton’s role had already been decided and all she had to do was to move to the area learning ins and outs of it by scouting it and decorating it with leftover bones to be used as weapons in case of an attack. Tahna helped her with making the terrain more suited for her and promised to try get the clan’s spare skeletons of possible dead dragons and enemies for her to use. Skeleton was happy to have a purpose and took her new job seriously with a bit of pride. She even got two hounds to serve her.

Skeleton took her job as border guard with pride enjoying it fully despite not really having anyone to drive away. Tahna came to see her every now and then which was always the highlight for Skeleton but rest of the clan avoided the area she guarded most likely fearing either her or her hounds. Because of that she mostly just drove away wildlife that got too close to the lair.

Skeleton did the job for months until Tahna often coming to inform her about events in the clan told that Nemo, who had taken Skeleton's fur and flesh, had gotten border guard job as her neighbor. Though she had saved them from Glade Skeleton still feared her Tahna needing to reassure her that the fae would not threat her. She though was sure that avoiding the border of their sectors was best for her and her hounds.

Nothing changed after the mage moved in and for weeks it was peaceful everywhere. However, when approaching Brightshine Jubilee Skeleton's hounds started to act very hostile even towards her and Tahna towards who they were usually more docile. They attacked everything not listening anything Skeleton tried to say with her limited vocabulary. However, when two mages came to see Skeleton they all of sudden were acting calm but somehow being still hostile towards her.

Skeleton was not sure why Shadow and Sapny would come to see her but she felt it was not for good reason they having some horrendous pets with them. Some kind of octopus frog hybrid with many eyes grabbed her while the hounds picked up the bones she was able to release from herself. She tried to escape at first but eventually she stopped and the mages left as soon as they had arrived.

Skeleton wasn't sure what had happened she not feeling any different. Still, she had weirdly strong need to attack every beastclan member and dragon she saw except for few exceptions one of them being oddly enough Glade. For some reason she had weird need to do as he said and even if it included attacking Vatta, Tahna's friend, or Tahna himself she did not feel like doing anything wrong. Tahna visited her often trying to figure out what was wrong with her and Skeleton not being able to resist attacked him. After Glade asked her to drive Tahna to certain direction she did not see either the wildclaw or the imperial until being asked to join the rest of the clan by Glade.

In the lair the clan experienced a solar eclipse and when the world was swallowed by darkness a weird wyvern took control over every bone Skeleton had and forced her to attack nearby dragons. Eventually Skeleton was able to get control back when the clan fell to chaos and when trying to figure out what was going on she noticed looking for Tahna in the crowd but not finding him. Eventually pieces started to fall to places and she realized she had been put under a spell and Glade had done something to Tahna when he had asked her to drive him to wherever that was.

Glade had a lot of dragon attacking him trying to disarm the imperial and Skeleton gave him few hits before he was eventually beaten. She didn't care about the aftermath and after hearing some random dragons asking if everyone was alright she realized she should go look for Tahna. Her hounds had seemingly freed from a spell as well and were again willing to listen to her. She took her hounds and made her way to the wood to the place to where she saw Tahna run the last time she saw him.

The hounds traced Tahna's scent but they eventually lost it when the amount of flora in the area started to get crazy plans' scent drowning Tahna's smell. They checked the bushes and sprouts and trees on the area eventually finding both Tahna and Vatta being tied into tree trunks. They were both silent and motionless Skeleton fearing Glade had killed them. They were not able to set them free from the binding and after trying that for some time Skeleton started screaming towards the lair her hounds joining with their howls.

They kept making noise until the hounds heard someone approaching and group or dragons arrived. Skeleton wasn't sure how long it had been the group having Wyrmwound residents who she had not seen when leaving the lair. The Behemoth residents among them, all clearly being a bit tense, straightened the trees freeing the dragons. They took a closer look at the motionless dragons saying they were both alive but had their magic drained almost fully. They suggested they got both of them to the centers of their elemental domains plague dragons asking the residents what had happened to Skeleton as they made their way to the lair. The original residents explained what they knew and Skeleton was left in the lair as Tahna was taken to the Wyrmwound.

Skeleton was worried about Tahna but having heard that Glade and the mages had left the lair alive Skeleton guarded her sector keeping an eye on everything slightly out of place. Kupari brought her some new skeletons to use to decorate the area the clan having lost few members in the chaos those including Nemo whose area was given to Louhi to guard. During the following weeks the clan tried to recover from what had happened Tahna getting eventually strong enough to return back home. Skeleton was happy to see him alright and would have cried tears of joy if that was possible. He seemed to know what had happened and was likewise happy to see Skeleton alright she promising him to guard the area the best she could to avoid anything similar from happening ever again.

Traits

Skeleton is outstanding plague tundra being just a walking skeleton. She used to have white amber spotted fur and wings with black skeleton pattern on them being the origin of her name. Now all that is left of that is burnt on her bare bones giving her a smell of burnt fur. Her horns are small, pale and rough. Skeleton has no actual eyes as she lost them while being transformed. Instead she has small red floating irises where they used to be and though they are not really attached to her, excluding the fact they can’t leave the eye holes, they let Skeleton to see and have working pupils though she has no eyelids.

Skeleton doesn’t really wear clothes finding them mostly useless or harmful taking count her living environment. She only wears a full black guise that she uses to protect both her bones and her eyes from sunlight and is rarely seen wearing it during nights when she prefers wearing nothing.

Skeleton lost her ability to speak when being turned into a skeleton though she can scream with the voice that was absorbed by her bones during the transformation. It though isn’t nice to the ears as it sounds like someone screaming in pain with only speed and volume changing. Other than that only noise Skeleton can produce is the clattering of her bones. To communicate with others she often relies in body language and pictures she draws to the ground.

Small pile of red and yellow petals.

Skeleton used to be curious and activity seeking but above everything else she was disobedient and incautious. She didn’t care about warnings or other dragons in general and always prioritized having fun herself. That eventually led to her downfall when she, despite all the prohibitions, continued harming others in order to have fun and was turned into a skeleton as punishment. Not being able to do almost anything she became somewhat apathetic but she still enjoyed doing something if someone gave her that. She was a bit afraid of doing stuff by her own will after what it caused to her but after getting job as border guard she feels obliged to act by her own order and is ready to that.

Skeleton is not the most sympathetic dragon and used to, in fact, enjoy suffering of others. She though isn’t full monster and doesn’t want to see someone in pain especially after experiencing that herself. She though is still a bit selfish dragon and doesn’t care about other dragons that much. Only dragon she cares about is her adoptive father Tahna who is the only one who seems to care about her and she is ready to protect him with her bones. She still has her sadistic side left and if you are a friend but not Tahna, she doesn’t react but if you are an enemy she is more than happy to make you suffer. Tahna is the one who makes her happy.

To help Skeleton to protect the sector she is meant to guard she has been given two pets to help her. Nerve the wraith hound and Muscle the infestation hound are both large and vicious beasts rarely seen together or with Skeleton as they scout different areas avoiding to end up in same place if no extra teeth are needed. Nerve is faster of the two while Muscle is stronger but they both should be avoided as they attack if no other orders are given and Skeleton can’t give those. They though obey her and are able to understand orders ”don’t attack”, ”attack” and ”inform” but they don’t understand actual words nor can they speak and Skeleton enjoys the sense of specialty that gives.

Small pile of red and yellow petals.

Despite being just a walking pile of bones Skeleton’s senses, excluding touch and taste, are working fine though they are weaker than what they were when she was a full dragon. That though doesn’t bother her much as she is very sturdy as bone-only creature. She can’t be stunned and can reassemble herself easily and being able to levitate her own bones fractures don’t matter to her. Being just bones she doesn’t need to sleep nor eat, she doesn’t get sick and she often sees herself near immortal though she doesn’t care about that.

Skeleton has learned an ability to control bones as long as they are not attached to flesh. She can move them freely be them her own or someone else’s and she can even control other’s skeleton as long as there is no soul in it. She can make bones defy gravity and either throw them or use them as weapons or extra battle companions and even make those at the same time. She can also break herself apart and have all her bones move to different direction at different speed. Taking bones from her does not prevent her from reforming herself after having her bones scattered and as long as she has more than half of her bones left she can reform herself. She could also replace her bones with someone else’s if need to be as long as that is not her skull which stores her elemental powers.
