Messenger, Face of the Clan

Biography
Azul had no siblings and no guaranteed friends because of that. That’s why she had to put effort into finding company and was meeting new dragons all the time as she was doing that. Before long she had learned to know almost every dragon in the clan and befriended most of them thanks to her kind and helpful nature. Azul was very liked among her clan mates and usually it was enough to be just herself to get along with different dragons. Because she knew everyone and got along with almost as many she was often asked to deliver messages from one clan member to another. Azul didn’t mind that seeing that great opportunity to check how everyone was doing even when the messages to be delivered were stupid or not nice in which case she made sure to tell who had sent the message. Some dragons asked her to deliver messages because they either had no time to look for the said dragon, which Azul had, or didn’t get along with the receiver and in some cases it was because the receiver was very disliked. Azul was often asked to deliver and receive metallic stuff, be that armor pieces or fixed junk, from Koppar, often called Rusty as a mock name. Azul did not know if Koppar was called that because she acted hostile and was rude or did she act hostile and rude because she was called that but she was challenge to deal with. Along with Alfa she was only one being able to approach the fae without being hit with an axe and had to learn tone down her open nature to not annoy the fae. It wasn’t easy for her but she felt is was worth it, if not to deal with Koppar specifically, but to deal with other less social ones in the future. Time went on and it was obvious to everyone in the clan that if there were messages to be delivered then Azul was the one to be asked and even Azul herself though like that. One evening, during late autumn Parcha asked Azul if she could deliver his message to his original clan at the Shifting Expanse as he was doing some kind of research and wanted to sent his reports to be analyzed in a proper lab. Azul had not flied that long journey alone in such a windy weather but being helpful she accepted the job and started the journey. The cold winds though were strong and not being used to that Azul soon lost control over her flight and was about to crash-land when Storm dived in and softened the impact. As they tried to get untied Storm, who was Azul’s cousin and half-sister, asked if she was alright which she was but she could not deliver the message in that weather. Storm being skilled flyer in stormy weathers promised to deliver it instead and took flight Azul returning to the lair. While she was waiting the older spiral to return Parcha came to see her having heard about her crash. He asked about the message and Azul explained that Storm was delivering it because of the weather. Parcha agreed she might be better dragon for the job taking count that the weather in the lightning domain could be worse than it was at the Isles but was a bit worried if Storm could reach either destination taking count her common accidents. She though returned by her own wings and Azul could stop worrying. Few weeks later Parcha had another message to be delivered to the same place as last time and Azul being doubtful about being able to fly there that time either went straight to Storm getting extra suggestion from Parcha himself. Azul found Storm at the Hoard filling her bag preparing to go storm-hunting. She was willing to help but Azul felt like she might be messing up her plans by asking her to do her job. Once Storm came back to inform that the message had been delivered Azul decided to ask if she had messed up her plans not wanting to do that. Storm said she had no plans acting spontaneously and was fine with becoming clan’s external messenger when Azul asked about that. That was great for Azul as being able to focus internal communication she could be able to avoid tiring herself up too much and she could help her clan mates in process. The clan having gotten used to Azul being the delivery girl always asked her when needing to deliver anything and not really having that much messages to go out-clan it took quite some time before her clan mates learned to give those to Storm to deliver. That though didn’t bother Azul as she was the one to direct new dragons and guests to right dragons anyway and telling others to give the messages to Storm was part of her job even if the others had not learned their specialized jobs. 
Azul’s life was mostly the same delivering messages, staying up to date what her clan mates were doing, helping them when needed and introducing new members to the clan. The clan had received an order from the Observatory to move to the Focal Point and Azul helped with organizing the project by doing what she did regardless. She though noticed that no one wanted to help Koppar who was trying to get her smithy with its many machines to the new lair. Feeling bad for her Azul came to help her out even though she didn’t want her help and she was able to hide the pieces among the other stuff. Azul was not able to help her reassemble the smithy right away needing to do her job but came to help Koppar as soon as she moved to the new lair. The clan was sick of dealing with the hostile fae as their blacksmith and sent some dragons to the Ashfall Waste to get more cooperative one. They brought Tapio with them and Azul took the job to introduce the clan members and customs to the new resident like she had done with Afrodite who had arrived few nights earlier. Her clan mates had asked her to not mention Koppar as that was unneeded but Azul feeling Tapio had right to know Koppar existed told about her to the young bogsneak but kept the things about her bad reputation and mocking secret. After that Azul returned to her normal work as messenger. Afrodite asked her to look after young pearlcatcher Itameri after he had passed out due to a stroke and informed the skydancer once he woke up. Some time after that Witchi came to tell that Tapio tried to get closer to Koppar but was not doing that hot. Azul took the opportunity to deliver Obsidius’ helmet to the blacksmith to get it fixed and told the bogsneak what she knew about Koppar’s past and overall status in the clan. Later Azul heard that Tapio had managed to approach Koppar without losing his head and she was happy for that. She wanted to get up to date about how they were doing not trusting rumors others told but was unable to do that. The clan had started a temple project and Azul had to deliver messages between the project leaders and so on until dragons started to disappear and she had to fly back and fort updating others about the searches. She was very tired once it was all over and was very happy when things started to calm down taking the opportunity to rest. Things were rather peaceful after the few missing incidents had been solved. The clan had gotten few new members for who Azul had introduced the clan, smithy had collapsed killing Koppar, she had had to inform about that to the leaders and she had asked Kyogre about weather when Storm had been too busy to do that herself. The bogsneak was very gifted with predicting weather all around the Sornieth and Storm used his knowledge to find storms in where she could test her skills. One evening Azul noticed that Storm was not in the lair which in itself wasn’t new Storm being rarely in there. Issue was that she had not been in the lair for some time and she usually at least showed her face to make sure everyone knew she was alright. Worried Azul started to ask her clan mates when they had seen her last time and Kyogre was the last dragon having seen her right before she left to the storm he had predicted. He told that it was a very strong storm and with Azul managed to convince their clan mates to organize the search party. They eventually found Storm unconscious and badly hurt. She was given to the healers to be healed while Azul continued her job visiting the healers every night. Things didn’t look great for Storm healers having ran out of herbs and they also spent a lot of time arguing. Azul helped them the best she could telling where certain dragons were and delivered them what they needed if that was needed. Luckily Storm eventually survived but she lost her arms having them be replaced by metallic ones. Storm had to learn how to use her new arms from scratch and Azul seeing how frustrating that was for her came to help. Though not a healer or therapist she was able to come up with practices that felt meaningful for the more impatient dragon. It took a very long for Storm to relearn how to use the arms but they eventually reached that and with Storm working to reach the sky once again Azul refocused on her main job of knowing the clan and being the one to represent it to their visitors.
Azul's nights were mostly the same she visiting her clan mates checking how they were doing, meeting the visitors if she happened to spot them or delivered messages most often either gathering or conference invitations, occasionally also trial invitations. The amount of work she had to do usually increased when something was going on in the lair but she was usually able to deal with those temporary phases. Later, around the time for nature's holiday things in the clan were getting busy with Nova having discovered a new constellation and Rosalin and Pernis preparing to start their lair revamp. Azul in turn was preparing for her work being at least doubled for some time but when the clan was making their name change official news about new kinds of creatures arrived they reaching the lair soon after. At first Azul was excited about new creatures sharing her excitement with Pinkapi but then all of clan's familiars turned hostile for no reason. It all happened very suddenly and Azul was barely able to avoid being bitten by ferberus she was taking care of. Despite of her skill with familiars Pinkapi was not able to tell what had gotten into their non-dragon allies and not even Fen was able to help with his knowledge. Azul mostly delivered angry messages from frustrated residents to the two dragons trying to figure out what had happened. One evening, while delivering message from Saana for at least tenth time for the evening, she noticed an unfamiliar dragon with the leaders and flew closer to see what was going on. As she got closer Alfa asked her to get Tahna there and made sure it was urgent. It turned out that Silence had attacked a random plague clan and the clan was now at the risk of getting into a war. For weeks things were looking very bad for the clan they having no chances against the plague clan if they decided to attack with familiars remaining hostile and all of that. The war threat was eventually taken care of and Azul was able to rest a little until things got even worse when Tinker didn't arrive to organize night's gathering. After turning the entire lair upside down the residents came to the conclusion that the both leaders and their guardians had vanished like star during the day. Like loosing leaders wasn't bad enough already few evenings later an earthquake hit the lair the ground forming a wall around it with trees blocking the sky. The clan had barely recovered from the event when Shadow, Sapny, Glade and Megabrain declared they would sacrifice the clan in few days to summon the Shade causing a lot of fear among the residents. Azul was as scared as everybody else and to avoid thinking about the upcoming end she focused on her job neglecting her rest in progress. The four had too strong magical abilities for them to do anything. Life in the clan got stressful after the announcement and the offer the summoners had made didn't make it any easier. They had told that everyone who worked with them, or revealed the ones who worked against them, would have their wishes granted after the summoning and dragons were abusing the offer like mad Megabrain being the one to take care of the "revealed" by turning them into familiars. It was self-feeding cycle where ones having their close one being turned tried to get revenge on the starter whose close one then tried the same. Azul had to see that too many times and though usually avoiding interfering she decided to stop Aspen when her sister was turned into a lizard by Saana somehow managing to calm down the strong dragon. The atmosphere and lack of sleep from delivering status updates about every dragon's whereabouts were tiring Azul and she was oddly angry towards Storm when she came to ask about what was going on in the lair she having arrived late. Azul could barely stay awake when Storm had forced her to stop and after answering to her questions the older spiral escorted her to her nest promising to take care of her job till she had rested. After some rest Azul joined Storm with delivery business she soon feeling almost more tired than before due to worsening atmosphere. When the day of the summoning arrived Azul was so tired she was sure she couldn't fight back even if she had been give the chance. When the eclipse marking the start of the summoning reached its darkest moment a wyvern emerged from the ground Azul having no strength to fight back back when it took control over her bones and forced her to bow. To Their request to submit to Them Azul just said she just wanted to sleep her claws being forced to hit Storm because of that. Other than one hit from Azul Storm managed to stay unharmed she still having control over her metallic arms yet Azul still felt awful once she got the control back. The dragons around them were rushing to defeat the summoners and seeing some hope Azul got some energy to deliver messages from fighters to healers until the summoners were driven away with the wyvern having vanished. After that the clan held a roll call Azul telling where she had seen dragons not present. After that was done Azul was ordered to rest the reinforcement messengers taking her job for time being while Storm took the job to check the residents having been taken elsewhere to recover. Azul slowly got back to her job as the temporary messengers returned home she taking responsibility to check the dragons resting in the Observatory to have that out of Storm's shoulders. Once the dragons got back to reclaim their jobs the clan life started to return normal Azul wishing never to experience anything like that ever again.

  Name origin: Her tertiary color is "lapis" and while looking for name inspiration from that Finlandia came across lapis lazuli which one name origin was "azul" which is Persian for "blue".

Traits
Azul is an arcane spiral with iridescent blue body and purple butterfly wings with a little bit of green and blue smoke patter decorating both of them especially edges of her horns and wings. She has small ears being slightly skywards and her horns turn slightly inwards and are darker than her main body the smoky pattern giving them a bit of a shiny look. She has small and round tail tip and four spines leading to it. She has common pink eyes. Azul has a very girly look with a lot of silks and jewelry mostly in blue, her favorite color. She has a head fillet with blue gem and blue feathers on its sides, blue silky scarf with similar silks decorating her arms and legs. On them and at the tip of her tail she has pale blue and purple wing decorations and on and under her shoulder wings she has similar wings though she hides them inside the gems attached to the silver jewelry that keeps them on her when flying long distances as they hinder her flight. She also has silver filigree jewelry decorating the edges of her wings and neck being similar to the one holding the wings. She also has lapis tail bracelet and earrings as well as belt in which’s gems she stores her messages if she has more than she can carry with her arms. Being the dragon the visitor usually meet first she tries to look pretty for the image of the clan but also avoids looking too vain not wanting to give wrong image. Azul has kind and encouraging, always optimistic and clear voice with soft tones. She interacts with dragons a lot and because of that she speaks a lot having a great articulation and vocabulary due to a lot of experience. She though always tries to be as easy to understand as possible and often uses body language to get past possible language barriers. She has mild British accent.
Azul is kind, helpful and optimistic dragon always on good mood. She is very modest not really having goals of her own just enjoying her time and helping others. She is always interested in issues others might have and though she listens a lot of rumors and gossips she isn’t really fond of them and makes her best efforts to help everyone even if they are seen as annoying dragons. Though very dedicated to stay within her role as messenger and helper she has kept her right to back down from requests if she finds them harmful for anyone and though seen as very trustworthy when it comes to secrets she may reveal them if she sees that better for everyone. She though usually tries to keep her mouth shut in case of secrets and is very good with that. For Azul there is no wrong sized group. It can have just one dragon or it could have few hundred and she would feel like home. Having grown up without siblings Azul had to learn to interact with different types of dragons to have someone to talk to and she indeed gets along with many kinds of dragons. She is naturally social and is always looking for meeting new dragons leading her to usually be the first dragon the visitors interact with when they arrive to the clan. She has great manners and is overall very polite and open which is why she is considered the best candidate for the face of the clan and she is willing to do the best she can to fulfill that role. Azul didn’t have one familiar with who she had settled with and instead her familiar was ever-changing. Reason for that was that she usually helped the familiar keeper to tame the new familiars or more importantly got them used to dragons and clan life as whole. She still does that and she tends to get attached to them even though she knows she is not going to keep them having too many familiars potentially making training new ones too hard. She though comes to meet them when she has time. However, she accidentally got her own familiar when a spiffy sphinx took a liking of her and decided to start living with her, and being unable to make her leave Azul named her new companion Blu. Blu is pretty much just a cat with wings she not talking and seemingly doesn't understand speech, or she chooses to ignore what is said. She thinks highly of herself without being prideful and usually demands attention or food and takes the warmest places for herself. She stays in Azul's nest to not hinder her servant's other work.
Azul has studied some simple spells focusing in spells that make her job as messenger easier. She can levitate small objects and store them into gems on her belt in which she uses size spells. She can also use spell to hide her decorative wings inside similar gems if they hinder her flight and she can also levitate herself making talking to bigger dragons face to face easier. |
