Biography
Louhi was first to hatch from her litter having two younger sisters, Maisema and Belladonna. Out of the three she was the least interested in other dragons finding them annoying most of the time but she was very close with her two sisters. Though they wouldn't shut about finding their charge Louhi tolerated them and spent her time mostly with them. Both Maisema and Belladonna were very excited to get their charges already and when not annoying other guardians about how they found theirs, if they had found that, they spent their time in the library reading books. The younger guardians believed that they could find hints of their future charges by reading but Louhi didn't believe in that. Instead she asked Hanako to bring some random books she could read while the two did their "research". The books were rarely that interesting but Louhi did not blame Hanako as she was the one to ask random books. One night Hanako though brought Louhi a book about magic and without her sisters she would not have noticed how immersed she got with reading it. The next time her sisters wanted to seek their charges in books Louhi asked Hanako to bring her more books about magic before she managed to get her something random. The facet eyed snapper seemed to be amused by the fact she wanted to read something specific Louhi noticing she having noticed how uninterested she had been about the activity. After her sisters had done for the night Louhi asked to take some books with her her sisters teasing reading having become her charge. After that studying magic became Louhi's number one past time. She noticed really enjoying dark magic and beasts and went to see if clan's familiar keeper had any of them. She showed her displease to Pinkapi seeing how soft she had made most of the "dark and dangerous" beings but at the same time she was happy when she let her take a basilisk with her. Louhi kept studying magic focusing in variant that used plants and body parts, mainly bones and hairs or feathers, and got very good with that while her sisters found their charges, temple for Belladonna and the meadow for Maisema. Louhi herself had basically forgotten the charge thing and just wanted to study magic somewhere where she didn't need to listen all those warnings about her magic being "twisted". She however noticed that her familiar family, which she cared a lot, had grown up to four. After Louhi's familiar pack had reached six members she visited the library with them to see if Hanako had new magic books. The snapper was not in the library when Louhi arrived she assuming she was getting new books and while waiting she decided to go through them herself. While they were going through it all Louhi's basilisk found something and called Louhi to see it. What it had found was an old notebook it having a lot of unknown spells in it. Louhi knew it belonged to Nemo who had bad reputation of using wicked magic but Louhi didn't mind those acts taking the notebook to study the spells the old fae had used. She most likely didn't need it she working now as border guard. As Louhi stepped out of the library her sisters came to tell that clan's scouts had found old ruins in the wood and they decided to go see them. Louhi had learned enough magic to be able to shrink them to enter the ruins of a fae town in where they found more old spells some of them overlapping with spells in Nemo's notebook. Belladonna warned Louhi about using such a magic as it could corrupt her but Louhi didn't listen and copied as many spells as she could. Louhi visited the ruins few more times collecting more spells before Arcanist's scholars opened Forbidden Portal letting its creatures to arrive to the dragon world. Louhi was rather indifferent about the new weird creatures and remained that after all familiars in the lair area turned hostile including her pack. Most of the clan shared blame between the creatures and Nemo Louhi's sisters showing their worry about the reason being her she not buying into the two common theories. She though used her head and the creatures could not have been behind the sudden change if they were also affected and Nemo's notebook had no spell that could cause change that wide and thus Louhi could not have learned it either. Time went on and Louhi spent her time studying spells trying to figure out how to recover the familiars' sanity. While doing that she found a single target mind-control spell and tried it on her basilisk being able to take control over it before being pushed out by what felt like nature magic. Only nature dragons that could have cast such a spell were Vatta and Glade and without knowing either of them Louhi had a strong feeling of which was behind the change. She though found that out too late he having already gotten a promotion to nature ambassador meaning he was not to be touched. Louhi assumed everybody had noticed what she had figured out and didn't bother telling anyone about her find and instead practiced magic to hopefully make Glade pay for his trick somewhere in the future, without being caught off course. She traveled to the Observatory to take part in Runesworn's quick course during the House Cup and upon returning to the lair her sisters informed her that clan's leaders were missing. It was just downhill from there the clan being sealed by earth and trees few nights later Shadow and Sapny approaching to declare their plan to summon the Shade in few days. Though Louhi was interested in the Shade too she didn't like the idea of summoning it and spent her time studying even more to be ready to act when the eclipse was to darken the clan. The Shade mages seemingly noticed her studies and asked her to help them when the summoning was to come but she declined not wanting to stab back her sisters or familiars which Louhi assumed to be sacrificed too when the time was right. Her sisters though seemed to assume she had joined the Shade mages and avoided Louhi the following nights. The day of the summoning arrived and Louhi was ready to hinder the ritual but her sisters still sure she was going to join came to talk with her. They told they did not like how she practiced dark magic and Louhi had to explain them that she was not going to betray them. While they were talking the eclipse hit and a wyvern rose from the ground its magic forcing everyone to bow and Louhi heard it asking them to submit to Them. Louhi denied the offer and thanks to her studies with mind-reading she was able to hear that she was not the only one. The wyvern though did not take "no" for an answer and They forced Louhi to attack Julius while her sisters fought against each other. They were able to stop once a gaoler spirit arrived to free them and after another wyvern freed them from first one's control Belladonna and Maisema rushed towards Shadow Louhi following them. In their attempt of taking down the mage they were joined by a lot of other mages from all around the Sornieth and Louhi found it quite surprising that they had so much trouble hurting the skydancer. Maisema was first one to fall from the sisters Shadow's spell hitting her throat it causing her to fizzle away leaving the remaining sisters shocked. Belladonna didn't take that easily and rushed forward with anger she being unable to reach Shadow before she, after the skydancer mage had dealt with few others, turned her into a rooster followed by being crushed by a ridgeback who fell avoiding Shadow's spells. Louhi knew a lot of spells and was able to keep her distance during the battle allowing her to dodge Shadow's spells better. Still, until Shadow eventually turned her tail and teleported to the wood reinforcements following she had managed to hit Louhi's face with the same spell that killed Maisema but Louhi had had enough time to react. She prevented the spell from doing too much by burning her own skin as the spell spread not letting it get any deeper that way. The spell though had burned Louhi's left middle finger and the bone was painful as she lied down to mourn next to remains of Belladonna Maisena not having even those. After the incident Louhi joined some search parties noticing how others found her unpleasing to look at and she noticed spending her time rather outside the lair instead of in it where both her sisters' charges were as well as where they had died. Along with them Nemo had also died her sector being now open and after talking about it with her pack they having now come back to their senses they decided to take the job to guard them. She talked about that to Trooper he organizing the sectors and he let her take his mother's place. Louhi moved in the wood taking the entire clan as her charge in honor of her sisters who had had parts of it as theirs. 
Louhi made the sector her home making it more to her liking, spooky and foreboding. Her little animal family grew and Louhi was certain they could stop any threat that tried to walk through the wood. However, there was a small problem. Though Louhi and her family guarded the road leading to the air ship dock the traffic was more sparse than forest fires in the water domain. They were a little bored. Louhi decided to spend time by training her family teaching them to use the environment more efficiently as well as training herself with magic. That kept Louhi's family entertained but soon enough Louhi wanted some actual work with actual meaning. She decided to test her skills and started to study how to heal the wounds she had gotten during the summoning incident. If she succeeded she could maybe try to make herself look scary and if she failed her goal would probably be "don't die". She spent nights finding spells that could work trying them on her food until she was at least somewhat positive she had found something that could work. Louhi had explained what she was going to do to her family and she had asked them to keep guarding the area, just in case, while asking the manticore to stay with her. The manticore would keep an eye on the ritual and either help Luohi or get help for her if something was to go wrong. After the short meeting Luohi waited for some time to let the others get away from potential accident zone before she gathered her tools and got to witching. Things seemed to be going decently despite Luohi using void magic mixed with nature like magic. She had started with her skinless middle finger and actually managed to get it healed. It was the easier part and Luohi was expecting things to go less well when she turned to heal her face. Things were going decently the wood mask fusing with her face covering the skull. However, the wood kept affecting Louhi's skin even after she stopped channeling magic it starting to transform the healthy skin at the edges of the face slowly moving towards the neck and beyond. As Louhi lifted her hands from her face to keep them from channeling more magic, unsure if they were even doing that, she noticed that her left hand was being covered by wood bark as well. Unable to stop the process Luohi decided to channel her energy to keeping her organs working as the wood replaced her skin and muscles and eventually she passed out when the bark fusion reached her chest. Only the manticore was present when Luohi woke up where she had passed out meaning her situation had not been that bad, or it was so bad no one in the clan could help. Louhi monitored herself for a moment before getting up. She was breathing and her heart was beating, she was also feeling a bit hungry. She was alive and stood up to take a look at what the spell had done. Her skin was made out of tree bark and she was partly hollow, while her wings and fins felt like they had been before the ritual though they looked different. The ritual had not been a success but it was kind of what she would have done if she had succeeded. Luohi didn't want pity from her clan mates and to them she said she had made the change on purpose to make herself the wood witch she kind of was already.

Traits
Louhi is an arcane guardian who used to have brownish green body with feather markings, grey wings with dots on them and green eye patterns decorating her wings and shoulders. However, after a failed attempt to heal her injuries which she got during the summoning incident she has turned into a half dragon half tree creature with red claws and spines. She is still mostly a dragon but her outer shell has turned into something tree like. Louhi's wings are rather big as are her fins her throat one that being almost like beard and her horns turn strongly upwards near the end. She also has very big claws and had very short whiskers, a heritage from her mother's pearlcatcher origin. The whiskers though were lost when during the summoning incident a magic blast hit Louhi's face she enchanting the skin off to prevent it from reaching her brain. Because of that her skull was partly exposed and so was part of her left middle finger in her main arm. The magic blast also turned her eyes from normal to goat like. The exposed bones have since been covered by her failed healing attempt. Louhi both looks and wants to look intimidating she being a mage specializing in darker magic. She has dark green poncho and wing shrouds both being decorated with animal spines as is her tail. She has similarly dark green pants and on them brighter green kilt which is decorated with lanterns housing fireflies. On her neck she has similar lantern. Her legs and arms are both covered with green leather guards. Louhi's face was badly hurt during the incident and to hide and protect it she wears a helmet that has hair which makes Louhi look like she has pearlcatcher mane. After healing the face she has kept the helmet due to having gotten used to it. She also carries witching plants on her wings. Louhi has rather cold and cynical voice that is notoriously monotone. It has a bit dark and mysterious tone with a little bit of a witty tone once in awhile. She has strong Sami accent.
Louhi is somewhat serious and cynical but not a rude dragon. She prefers being by herself with her magic and familiars instead of looking for dragon company. She was, however, very close with her two sisters and was devastated by their deaths which made her a bit of colder dragon. As they both had an area in the lair as their charge Louhi decided to become a border guard to continue their job and to be far away from other dragons they not looking her or her interests nicely. Usage of dark magic has made Louhi even colder and slightly sadistic in a sense that she likes to see others scared but not in physical pain. Louhi has never been that interested in dragon company and excluding her sisters she didn't like it at all. Her sisters were almost the only reason she bothered to be near other dragons and after they died that reason was taken away. She doesn't hate other dragons but she is a bit undemonstrative towards them due to other dragons being the reason for her sisters' death. She is a bit hesitant to trust or help others but if she finds someone worthy she keeps her words for them. However, if she finds someone wicked she will make sure they cause no harm to others, no matter what she needs to to them to succeed. Louhi likes not-dragon companions and has quite a lot of them she having third most when it comes to quantity. Her little family contains Kokko the basilisk, Pohjola the fungalhoof qiriq, Akka the carrioncorn, Kontio the emeraldback shardspawn, Ikuturso the fanfin noggle, Loviatar the Manticorian provocateur and Hukka the swamp wolf. They all live in the sector they are meant to guard all of them being proud of their job and ruthless if Louhi wants so. They all have a bit of a wicked side to them and are loyal to Louhi who lets them show that side with pride. Only Loviatar can talk naturally but Louhi is able to understand the others through telepathy.
Louhi studies magic and is mainly interested in the darker variant that involves use of body parts, like bones, and plants. As they are mainly plague and nature tools Louhi, as arcane dragon, can't use them as effectively as dragons of the more ideal elements could and uses void magic to harness their power. With arcane magic she is very skilled and can control anything that has enough magic in it, even dragons but that is extremely tiring and she doesn't use that that often, and in arcane domain she can also burn someone's skin and flesh but only partly. She can also use telepathy, read minds and create illusions as long as she is in arcane domain. She can also shape-shift to many animals, mainly creatures that are usually Shade touched. Despite being half tree basically, or rather having tree like cover, she has kept her body functions and breaths, eats and sleeps like a normal dragon. |
