Thank you always for tagging me in more Diem lore @/Saronai! I'm definitely still interested. ;) I'll respond more in-depth next week once I hopefully have more spoons to do so. I've recently gone back to work after some time off and I'm admittedly feeling a bit wrung out... I love all your shares, but I have to say that my favorite among them is Kaijonai. Their colors go so incredibly well together, and I especially love that boulder gene on them. The faceted eyes are a lovely detail as well. As a whole they give me "fireflies and fairy lights during warm summer nights" vibes (hey check out those rhymes! lol). Soothing, yet kind of larger than life, somehow? Love all the symbolism for them too. It's so sweet that they hatched on you and your partner's 7th wedding anniversary! Congrats and kudos to you for getting them! I'll only be sharing one dragon this time, but it is one I'm quite proud of. [columns] [nextcol] This is Hoshea, the first of my progens' children that I kept. I've gened him up myself from a triple basic fae. He's the current leader of my clan, as he took over when his mother (my custom progen) stepped down from the position. He's a strange dragon, who often appears very detached from the world around him, but is also somehow observant to the point that it can be slightly unsettling. He's a good leader though, and strives to protect and nurture the clan to the best of his ability. [/columns]

Gonna drop off some very special lair-specific lore subspecies that have been important to the (Light-based) component of my overall clan story over the years. :) Or (He/Him) Hatched on the first day of LvP and wearing an LvP-exclusive accent. Both Or and Eligius are Goldenrod/Maize/Banana Lightgems. ... and then: Emalien (He/Him) My second major lair-specific lore subspecies: Shadeguard. I had his custom skin commissioned before he even hatched. I showed the original concept to a friend and went: 'ha, too bad they'll never exist!' Which is how I ended up with another project. There are a whole series of level-25 dragons out there who were hatched ONLY for major Light Dominance battles. I stopped breeding them when I left Light for Fire Flight and I haven't bred any since (moved from Fire to Earth). But it was overall a fun concept and I don't regret having them around. Two other friends have a Shadeguard in their lairs. Another returned to my lair (as I asked before I gave him away) ... and all the rest have stuck around with me ever since. :) I have a big soft spot for them and their stories.

As always, all of your awesome dragons, from every participant (not just those highlighted in this post) have received a star, as well as those linked in text <3 Some of them already had stars from me, in which case I found a new star to boop in your collections. You really found the perfect match of dragon, skin, and apparel to perfectly match the Lightweaver standard. Or the perfect apparel and dragon to match Xanadu. Mostly I just love how well-matched Xanadu and the standard of the Lightweave look on this dragon, in these genes, beautifully matched with all the other apparel. I mean, now that I’m looking specifically for things to say in compliment, the adornment on the luminous sundrapes is also so perfectly matched with skin and standard. Those pieces look 100% made for each other, perhaps especially on this pretty golden boy. I also enjoyed the lore and that intriguing letter about Anansi in his bio! If I’d gone specifically looking for Light Flight representatives instead of the over-arching theme and aesthetic, this guy would’ve won the showcase with bonus points for also being a Lightweaver species (even if she regrets our lovelies’ emperor-forming side effects). Just an absolutely bright and gorgeous boy all around! That skin alone is simply divine, kicked up a whole other notch by the aura, halo, and runescroll in particular. But also the dragon’s genes and colours. Even then the rest of the apparel is also well-placed, the sandals and claws in particular creating a nice balance for gold on the lower half of the image. I also love the way the leg and armwraps help said claws and sandals stand out even more, “beefing” them up in a way that also helps the image look well-balanced. So many fun details in this one, the longer I look in the interests of solid compliments, the more I find. For example, I adore that ring from the skin on the big claw. Beautiful boy! Definitely one of those dragons where there’s such an overwhelming amount of striking things to love about them that I need several moments right now just to stare while I figure out exactly where to start. I’ll just have to start naming specifics with no order of ranking to them. For starters, coal flaunt/flair is fantastic - until staring at all the lovely details for writing up this compliment, I hadn’t realized their tertiary was firefly (thanks to that absolutely adorable firefly spotlighted on their tail). I thought they had a lovely shade of glimmer and maybe an accent to keep that glimmer from being an overpowering, solid shade of cream. This is also a feature of the dragon which is wonderfully bordered by a well-placed lustrous mantle. I love that apparel piece, but am also so picky about it that I have yet to find my own dragon/outfit combo to use it on. Perfectly executed here! The rest of the glitter effect added by the firefly tert is lovely as well. Every piece of apparel chosen is just perfect with the whole. I’m already a sucker for skydancers in general and the new aura apparel. Love me some well-placed candles too and the absolutely, fiercely royal combo of the rose thorn crown with that pretty-boy mane. I also really love how the extra rose from the crown looks tucked into their braid. Then you go and top it all off with the supernal brightbeast companion. Extra neat that the brighter shades of gold from the lustrous mantle horns and embroidery are a perfect match for the brightbeast’s golds. And though less obvious overall, the halo and glowing eyes are also worth mention. They deserve every single star of their impressive like-count and more [emoji=star size=1] If you ever have a gijinka done of this dragon I would love to be pinged. Last Week’s Winners

( Lighting the Way )

Thank you everyone for your patience on the winner announcements! I have resigned myself to the knowledge they will probably always be “late” at this point. My week got busier than anticipated and a bout of executive dysfunction had throttled my ability to make any kind of organized post whenever I got a moment to do so.

I am still very much enjoying all of you though and your dragons! The only thing I’m really saying is that I love how many of you have thoroughly embraced this thread and happily spread the positive energies around to your fellow participants, my struggles to post on time are never a reflection of that.

As always, all of your awesome dragons, from every participant (not just those highlighted in this post) have received a star, as well as those linked in text <3 Some of them already had stars from me, in which case I found a new star to boop in your collections. I also still intend to tackle compliments this weekend before Sunday’s new theme announcement.

Finally, there were so many beauties this week. I ended up with another HUGE list of tabs open for honorable mentions. That being said, I also decided to make honorable mentions easier on myself by limiting those mentions to about 10 from now on (sometimes more in the case of ties). This week the honorable mentions that made the cut are in no particular order.

Reminder: Double-pings do sometimes happen. If you got a win you might also have an honorable mention (and vice-versa).

Honorable mentions this week:
@Bxy26 for Trophy, @Venasai for Coy, @Lovelock for Beloved, @FossilDust for Shar, @Tuberose for Lyric, @Oriel for Emalien and Or, @RedRevival for Helianthus, @wildewinged for Xirahnah and Shael (just now realized Shael was text linked only/not an official entry, but I already closed all the other HM tabs lol).

They deserve every single star of their impressive like-count and more

If you ever have a gijinka done of this dragon I would love to be pinged. Any additional art, honestly.

I hope now is an appropriate time to hand out a few compliments! Light is such a popular motif and everyone's dragons showed why that is, I think. So bright and shiny. Or not, as it happens. Whichever suits you.

@Bxy26
Spirit really stood out to me in his orange and complimentary teal. I think part of what makes him so pleasing to look at might be the new Water banner, which I feel he compliments really well. But this is a brilliant use of the Aer Phantom accent; I never would have thought to put it on this dragon, but it really works. Nice job with his guy.

@TheGoldDragon
Trundle stood out to me mostly for his Thylacine. This is a gene I feel like I don't see enough, and it always looks great on Skydancers with what it does to the mane. Trundle is certainly no exception. I really like the combination of the highnoon vest and the mage's coat - that's brilliant and I'll have to remember it. The combination of sleeves here is wonderful. I also really appreciate the more... balanced (?) look at Plague culture you have in his bio. It's sad he was pushed beyond his limits (I'm reminded of some of the people I knew doing sports growing up, more intent on winning than on taking care of themselves), but I'm glad he's not bitter about it. It's a refreshing take on a Plague dragon who left his home, to still be proud of his homeland and adapt the values to his life anyway. He seems like a nice guy to hang out and read with. Probably has good book recommendations.

@Ackie
Seeing as I'm mildly obsessed with Christmas dragons, Holly stood out to me immediately. She's an absolutely beautiful dragon, and this is a wonderful use of that skin. Also a really good Glowtail. It seems to be one of those really situational genes that pretty much always works on Christmas dragons. She's a real gem!

@RedRevival
I am here fore a regal m-pose Guardian like Helianthus 100% of the time. I feel a little dense reading her lore though - is Helianthus the sun or some kind of sun deity? Or both? Or neither. Either way, it's real cool and interestingly written. I feel like there's more to this place than meets the eye, and the skin she's wearing fits incredibly well.

@FossilDust
This is a good Ridgeback. Wow. Shar is beautiful. The genes are just beautiful together, with the light and dark and the blues, and then her apparel just seals it. It's such a great accent, too, especially for an oracle, I think. Even though her appearance definitely brings to mind this theme, her lore does even more so. I love the portrayal of a dragon made wise by difficulties; that art in her bio also really captures this side of her, I think.

@wildewinged
I'm not sure how, but I've somehow ended up reading Ezra's lore before. You know what I think does it? I think it's the eyes. He's really pretty, of course, but there are lots of pretty dragons. But the way his eyes match the horns of his Glimmer gets me. I like his association with this theme, always looking for answers and, my favorite, being interested in the way others go about looking for answers to his same question. There's nothing more true in a seeker than knowing where to look. Ezra seems to have something of the answer he's looking for.

But I don't recall having visited Xirahnah before. Her combination of genes and colors is absolutely enviable, and I like the use of the relatively rare healer's items for her. They match amazingly. I like the difference in her quest for knowledge with Ezra's, and I'm intrigued by the bit in her bio about never again missing a thing. Makes me wonder what she missed and when she found it, and what she thinks she can do to make sure she has the knowledge she needs in time in the future. Seems like a rather intense personality, but I'm sure she would be an endless supply of knowledge, if you could persuade her to take a moment to share it.

@Venasai
This mantle was made with Faes in mind, I'm sure. Coy makes a beautiful Fae. It's funny to me she's not interested in setting any of the stories about her origins straight, and it only makes me more curious about where she comes from. Especially since it's not exciting.

@Lundlaeva
What a fitting name for Baldr, the brightest. I like the use of the stained to tone down the lapis, which probably would have otherwise been overpowering. It makes the rest of the apparel and the accent blend very well not only with his secondary (which I would have expected them to anyway), but also with the primary. Blue and gold is such a timeless combination, and he is no exception at all.

@FoggyDownpour
I just had to comment on your lovely Yoania. The purple and gold combination seems to be a little on the rarer side, but she definitely shows it to advantage. Also, that classic accent. I'm used to seeing it on darker dragons, but this with the pinstripe makes such a fun pattern. She's very pretty, indeed.

@Almedha Now is definitely an appropriate time. Before my winner announcements would've been fine too.

I'll be going in order-of-post today and tomorrow to do return compliments like the lovely ones you left for me <3

@Almedha- Laska is wonderful. I love the subtle Christmas aspect he has. :D

@Skycloud- I booped a star on Valzor because I am a sucker for purple and yellow. So beautiful.
@FoggyDownpour- I booped a star on Yoania & asked to be added to the subspecies pinglist because wow, I need one.
