This accent really shines on Coral’s colours too. Love how the coral crown just looks like extra reefy goodness alongside the accent-coloured imperial’s antlers. Speaking of which, that accent suits this water wildclaw so perfectly that I was surprised to hover over it and see that it was from Trickmurk Circus! It’s just really such a pleasing overall dragon image with beautiful complementary colours in play, a hint of black and white throughout that just really enables the halo and fathomsearch fish to stand out and I’m running out of words for it I just love the way these colours all blend and flow together. Ship. So incredibly cool. The name is wicked cool, and the dragon’s colours, genes, and apparel just really [i]make[/i] that accent. The mask portion of sanddune’s rags over the eerie cyan ghastcrown, as I said before, is simply a perfectly spooky stroke of genius. I am living for this skydancer’s whole pale pirate-ghost-ship goth aesthetic. It might help if I knew anything about One Piece, but it’s been over a decade since I read the first few mangas. Nope, just over two decades now lol. Anyway, not remembering much about it, Corpsetaker makes me think of some legendary figure - a powerful spirit or deity of death on the seas among those who make their lives on it - respected, but hoped never to meet. The creator of ghost ships. The one who claims drowned souls. I won’t be offended though if you do something completely different with the lore. ah thank you for the honorable mention for Kalaziel, glad to know that she caught your eye. She is one of my favorite accidental elemental dragons in my lair :D

Wow! I'm so honored that Coral was featured this week. Congrats to the other winners, your dragons are absolutely gorgeous and I have given them boops as well as all the honorable mentions.

I came back to hand out some more stars to those who posted after I was last here, and I have to just gleefully jump up and down for a minute because I see pirates.

@Ithika, your themed lair made me smile so very much!! Astreale is fabulous - I love the way his Capsule (somehow?!) ties in with his Sunshine secondary, and the map accent on his wings is wonderful. (And he has a ship's cat on his shoulder!) Khaegris looks fabulously piratival in that apparel set. (Excellent choice of colours by the way!) I really like the idea of her accepting the vote to make someone else the leader ... for now ... and biding her time until Aleru messes up. :S I would not want to be in Aleru's shoes! Nor would I ever want to make an enemy of Khaegris, she looks fearsome. <3 Aww, and Zandor is excellent (Zandor Kastell, lord of sandcastle?! I love him.) Great use of that accent and I love his colours shining through under it - I had no idea Amber Poison had those blues running through it! It's perfect for a little pirate.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the bios on all three of the dragons you shared this week. :D I especially liked seeing different sides of Khaegris through Zandor and Astreale's bios ... and reading her bio last of all was no disappointment after the build-up of the other two! What an interesting character. (Also, wow, the snippet about her descending to visit the emperor that used to be her friend gave me genuine shivers!!)

I'm definitely going to have to come back and check out more of your lair and lore later. :D

@Saronai Aww, thank you so much for all the extra likes!! That's very kind of you. I'm so happy you've been enjoying the Nordic theming in my Lair as well! Doing sort of vague retellings of Norse myths and themes is a lot of fun for me, and it's nice to hear that someone else liked it too. :D (Also I'm glad you liked the Friends Not Food thing in Njord's bio, it's probably my favourite thing in there, lol!!)

I really want to take a little extra time today with this one. So rather than cram it in and shove it out there, I'm gonna officially delay the theme by a day.

My apologies to anyone looking forward to this week's theme announcement today. I have been actively working on it (off and on all week even) and really wish I'd had more than a divided week to prepare for this one. There's always next year if we're still doing this to make it extra special. Or maybe a separate event.

Anywho, the good news is, this should probably be the set schedule moving forward: This week's theme will officially close on Sunday rollover into Monday. Winners will be announced on Mondays, new theme will go up on Tuesdays.

This is likely to be the best schedule for my focus as the partner I write and RP with a lot works all day on Mondays and Tuesdays. They can be very distracting (in only the best ways). Not that I'm blaming them at all, but Mondays and Tuesdays are still my best focus days for other activities like this thread.

Thanks for sticking with me as I sort out my schedule around my own limitations. The new theme will be up tomorrow (Tuesday, May 3rd), maybe even just after rollover. If not, then either 'cause I'm asleep, or had some last minute things I wanted to add without rushing myself into a panic attack lol.

I leave you with a hint on why I want this one to be special, for those of you who like to work on the bios and lore for your own shares. Please remember not to post anything though until the theme is officially live.

In hunting for the next theme last week, I realized May is National Mental Health Month in the US (where I live). I feel this is a super important topic and we will be focusing on our comfort dragons, therapist/counselor types, those who bring peace, uplift, and/or help others grow and heal into their favourite selves. For those of you who don't really do lore, dragons with calming aesthetics, who bring you the most joy, or look soft and cuddly will be valid shares.

That's totally fine with me! You should take as much time as you need, anything that you do is loved and appreciated by everyone here and it shouldn't cause stress to you. It's a lot of work! I also totally understand having the best type of partner being your distraction haha, I am in the same boat :)
