Formerly a gifted Light mage until her ambition pushed her to find lost relics that were said to increase magical capability. With the help of a trustworthy Earth archaelogist, she located the artifacts, but instead of more magic, she was tainted by a fragment of the Shade that was trapped in the ancient relic. She has managed to get it mostly under control through the use of enchanted jewelry, among other things, but every once in a while her magic will act - or not act - of its own accord.
