Some beautiful dragons in here! Time to spend hours poking through the thread one dragon at a time. It's fitting given his love of farming, but the sparklies only make the crows wanna steal him even more. Lore wise, he never quite liked being so bright, especially with the coatl obsession for colours. [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/59603599][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/596036/59603599_350.png[/img][/url][/center] Gentaro reminds me of tiger's eye, a gemstone that I always want to put in my mouth without hesitation. Gentaro, however, is safe...for now.

Alright, ya'll, so many gorgeous entries again! There's still a few more hours yet to make submissions but I'm extra tired today so I'm gonna head to bed early.

Since I won't be awake to change things for the next week shortly after roll-over that means there's an extension on this week's theme until after I wake up. Basically, if the static theme post still talks about Gems & Jewels, you're good to post some late entries. However, if that post reads "Temporarily Closed for Winner Selection" that means I'm awake and in the process of actively selecting winners and drafting the winner's post.

I'm thinking this will probably start anywhere between 7am - 10am FR time on Saturday the 26th.

Next week's theme share post is already sitting in a doc ready to go immediately after that.

oop sliding in real quick before next theme, had my post ready just as you sent yours! i was pretty busy this week and nearly forgot, gotta look at all of this week's submissions aaaa i don't have any truly gem-themed dragons anymore (i used to a long time ago, they were gorgeous), but here's some dragons that i think fit! [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/19575751][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/195758/19575751_350.png[/img][/url] i think galaxy is one of the most crystalline dragons i have right now, what with his facet and his apparel? he's one of the first hatchlings of polaris, who i submitted for last week! for a long time he was my busiest dragon, and that could still be true today tbh.. he has a lot going on, but i think it's pretty c: [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/37758274][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/377583/37758274_350.png[/img][/url] spiritglow is another facet dragon i have, with opal instead of glimmer! (im suuuure you could tell galaxy has glimmer, right? ;P) she's one of the few opal dragons i have, but i really love the way it looks here. the darker parts blend in so well with the facet, and the lighter purples match the flowerfall. and the clawtips look so good on the opal-covered hands and feet! [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/67921253][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/679213/67921253_350.png[/img][/url] and this is tourmaline, dressed in pink jewels to match his eyes and a crystal halo to match his crystal capsule! i didn't make him gemstone-themed on purpose, but i think he matches blue, purple, and pink tourmalines pretty well, hence his name. he gives off very arcane and crystalline vibes to me, and he's definitely the closest i think i am to having another gemstone-themed dragon!

This dragon does an [i]excellent[/i] job at getting across craggy rough substrate full of shinies in the wild. His beauty has a calming, approachable simplicity to it that I love. I think I also love the vibe of [i]discovering[/i] treasure that he brings to the table. I set out looking for gems and this one suggests more of an adventure was had in the finding than simply approaching a jewelry counter. I also love the splashes of orange to go with the splashes of brighter purples in his colouring. Gorgeous dragon! The genes, the chosen apparel, and the accent all just [i]belong[/i] together. I had to sit with her and the showcase winner for a good ten minutes going back and forth between the two. I just adore the combination of ivory shades, red, and black/dark brown. I also snuck a peek at the bio and really like the little poem/italicized words in it. I particularly love the line “Be blessed when you choke on her grace.” It’s both intriguing and just packed full of personality with a side of promised, ruthless strength. I’m an absolute sucker for the will o wisp apparel too. All the genes and chosen apparel just go so well together and even though I’m actually not a big fan of gembond, this dragon is one of the exceptions with it - I can see why you wouldn’t want to get rid of it. Moros is just absolutely gorgeous and I do love a good involuntary prophet trope. Overall, this dragon, simply put is a wonderfully gorgeous nightsky gem. [s]You might notice in clicking over to the dragon in my lair, she doesn’t [i]quite[/i] look like this just yet. I’ll be buying her that celestial attendant as soon as Mistral Jamboree goes live and I’m more than halfway done raising the money for the final piece, the Windbound Plumage.[/s] Mistral here promises to be one of my new lair darlings, I just love her so much. She’s costing me an arm and a leg though lol. Still, super proud of her and even though she doesn’t have any lore yet, I think she’s just perfect. She is my Wind badge collector and if you check out that hatch date? Yep, she hatched during the very first Mistral Jamboree. While she is a colour scatter project, her looks won’t be changing much in any visible way. Also she’s unlikely to receive any scatters any time soon (like within the next three years). I have other scatter projects ahead of her (and other just plain expensive gene projects) and those scrolls are expensive for what will be invisible changes. Created by [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&tab=userpage&id=284903]Enriana[/url], they are called [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/2122600/1#post_2122600]Runecatchers[/url]. Zephyra is a variant called the [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/2122600/1#post_25696846]Sea Storycatchers[/url] who are primarily focused on legends and myths of “magic, love, and creatures from the fathomless depths.” I haven’t really pinned down Zephyra’s lore either beyond that, only zir pronouns. Zie seemed like a neo-pronoun kinda dragon. Despite all the nods at water, Zephyra is absolutely a spirit of windswept adventures. I imagine zie has a particular love for stories about sailing and exploring Sornieth’s oceans. Zie probably has a special place in zir heart for the lush, butterfly-dotted grass seas and pond-side vistas of the Windswept Plateau as well. I think zie has yet to invoke zir runes, so who knows what magic they are capable of (runic invocation is a concept Enriana wrote into the subspecies’ lore). -------- [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/52688553][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/526886/52688553_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Osgaldu[/b][/center] This hoopy frood is more of a fandragon for Douglas Adams than anything. I blame the familiar for giving me the idea. Speaking of which, Osgaldu is a scramble of Douglas, and their familiar, Dasma, is a scramble of Adams. They make more Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy references together than anything else, but I like to think Osgaldu's personality is infused with the quirky personality of Dirk Gently, right down to believing whole-heartedly in the interconnectedness of all things. There is no such thing as coincidence. I love how they seem captivated by their own golden deepsea bulb lol. Also, totally knows where their towel is at all times (by virtue of wearing it around their noodle waist).
