Yankee and Brave were separated at birth by a rogue rift that blew open the little unassuming corner of spacetime containing their nest. They don't look alike, don't think alike, but the minute they first met, they recognized each other as blood. Growing up in two very different rough neighborhoods gave them a kinship beyond mere blood, as anyone who's ever tried to come between them has found out the hard way. Both made their living as small-time crooks before realizing the gift they had for Bardic magic. It's always satisfyingly surprising when two ice dragons spit pure rift-fire.

Yankee considers himself a counter-mastermind. He noticed the sociopathy that ran rampant in the upper classes and the strategists, and decided to use his own brain to do something about it. Yankee isn't a paladin. Not exactly. He falls on the pro-social end of the grey morality spectrum. Yankee won't hesitate to take a life if that dragon is willingly hurting others, redemption be damned. He uses his strategic brain to hunt down and kill loyalist strategists for The Organization, and his magic to empower and inspire others to do the same.

Under his and his brother's influence, Organization thralls have a tendency to break their chains and kill their masters. Beautiful revolutionary chaos is where these two thrive. The only thing stronger than their passion for freeing and building up their fellows is their loyalty to each other.

Broadly, in-universe, they are descendants of a dragon named Allison who managed to escape from a sisnister shadow organization run by aliens who can travel through spacetime. You may ask: who can travel through spacetime? The aliens, or Allison's descendants? Answer: Yes!
