Biography
CERLITH
occupation: Advisor of the Royal Guard, Trainer
Thankfully this was one of the many patrols Cerlith convinced Daichi to join; being shade-touched himself, he was at no risk. She joined the patrol that rushed out to help, and they managed to take out the enemy with only minor injuries. Nobody else was infected by the Shade.
When Cerlith returned with the rest of the patrol, she was immediately confronted by Agion, Pathera, and Argentum. They wanted to know if this is what she had predicted. She admitted to her visions. Silence followed, until Argentum spoke up, asking why she hadn't explained her vision. Cerlith explained her hope that the visions were false, or misread. Despite Agion's and Pathera's fury, Argentum ordered them to allow Cerlith to stay in her position as another clan advisor. Very reluctantly, Agion agreed, deciding that although Cerlith refused to share her visions, they were still true. She was still demoted in the clan military, however. Once a high-ranked general beside Agion and Pathera, Cerlith became a simple trainer. She wasn't even given the honor of training adults; she was tasked with teaching hatchlings the basic battle skills every hatching in the Crystalline Shadows clan is taught. Thoroughly humiliated, Cerlith made sure to always confer with Argentum about her visions, regardless of how small or insignificant they seemed.
Cerlith was brought to the clan as a young hatchling, finding an annoyed-looking nocturne and a hyperactive wildclaw there to greet her. The nocturne introduced herself with such confidence that Cerlith couldn't help but trust her. Even from the start, Chromite always seemed to know her place; she knew where she would be in the future as well. Cerlith never had that level of confidence, and admired it in her new friend. Chromite was slightly aggressive, though never in a mean way; she was simply passionate in whatever she was doing. One of Cerlith's favorite activities as a hatchling was to sit on the sidelines while Chromite trained, usually with a book or a sketchpad. When she first started training, Chromite was always the one pushing her onward, pushing her farther than she thought possible.
Nyddrar, on the other hand, was silent. Cerlith liked the silence that came with him. Though he was a bit obnoxious as a hatchling, he quickly grew out of it and became her closest friend. She hated excluding Chromite on her and Nyddrar's nighttime adventures, but the nocturne simply could not understand that what the two quieter dragons wanted was some peace. Nyddrar was always happy to share his hiding places with Cerlith, teaching her the quickest unused trails around their territory. Soon enough, they would accidentally run into each other at these places. They both wanted alone time at the same time and ended up in the same spot, though neither ever left. They found that more often than not, being alone with someone in silence is better than being alone on your own. Of course, with their close bond, everyone expected the two to become mates, but they knew it could never happen. Regardless of the rules, however, Cerlith always found it hard to push away those feelings for Nyddrar. She did her best to convince everyone that she looked to him more as a brother than a romantic partner, but he was honestly her everything. It was thanks to him and their nighttime escapades that she learned the night skies as well as she had. It's thanks to him that she found her place in the clan as a prophetic warrior. Without him, she believes she'd still be quietly sitting in a corner, watching her clanmates exchange tales of their adventures without anyone to talk to herself.
These three dragons are inseperable. You will hardly ever see one without the other two; even less often, seeing two without the last one. Chromite, the strength; Nyddrar, the brains; and Cerlith, the clairvoyant.
Huge thank-you to Mondschatten for supplying clothing for all three!

Cerlith is a prophetic warrior. As swift as the breezes from which her ancestors came, she was quicker than any other. Strong as the twisters that refuse to stay still, only a few could stop her. Those few came in the forms of her best friends, Chromite and Nyddrar. The three trained together, claw-in-claw, refusing the help of their fellow warriors. Cerlith is the shy one in the group. She hardly ever speaks to anyone besides her best friends. If she needs to talk to someone, she drags Chromite along to speak for her. Despite her shyness and anxiety, she's still a formidable warrior. Although the weakest of the trio, she can still handle herself in the midst of battle; assuming Chromite and Nyddrar are there to back her up, anyway. She formed a much closer bond with Nyddrar, however, simply because neither of them ever feel the need to talk. They can simply sit together in silence, birdwatching or stargazing, or whatever they've decided to do. Cerlith spends an immense amount of time with Nyddrar, often going out on nighttime walks with him. Thanks to him, she learned to read the stars and - thanks to her own intuition - what the stars predict. She has warned the clan of many troubles, including an attack of shade-touched creatures. She warned the clan to be on high alert, encouragingDaichi to join as many patrols as he could. She wouldn't explain herself though, silently hoping she was wrong, that she had misread something. As she had feared, however, one day Ceylon, a fellow Night Warrior, charged into camp with news that her patrol had been ambushed. |
