Biography

Yannis and his four snapper siblings hatched during the day of love and having colors fitting to its theme they got a lot of attention. Though they were not anything special because of that Yannis found the attention he got and the expectations his birthday created very annoying. Wanting to show that his birthday and colors meant nothing he decided to run away from home when he eventually got old enough changing his breed as soon as possible.

Now a mirror Yannis wandered around the arcane domain he having no funds to get out of it. He had arrived to a small harbor to see if he could sneak into a ship or something when he happened to see wanted posters for poachers the nearby dragons talking about having seen them sneak into the Isles to catch some rare creatures native to the area. Yannis didn't really care about the animals the poachers were after but he was in need of money having used the little he had taken when leaving on the breed change and hunting was much harder than picking up some plants from side of a road. He took the poster and started eavesdropping to get hints of his targets' locations.

Yannis managed to get enough hints to start tracking his targets and made his way to where his hints lead. There he found a hidden boat fitting for a poacher it having rare wild beasts locked in cages but not a single dragon onboard. Guessing the poachers were hunting Yannis decided to hide to ambush them when they got back and released the trapped animals to use their cages as hide. Eventually the poachers returned with their latest catch and prepared to place it in one of the cages behind which Yannis was hiding. That was his cue and he leaped out missing his hit but causing the poacher to drop their price.

Yannis was not yet fully grown and he was unarmed against three poachers with different weapons. He was unable to get upper hand but he also avoided being outmatched he being either too close to be hit or was hiding behind another poacher using them as shields. That though was tiring and Yannis knew losing was just matter of time poachers' latest catch having gotten out of its cage lending its teeth to Yannis. It though was still small the creature being most likely just a cub and it was not enough to turn the tide. The runaway creatures ended up being more useful they having caught attention of travelers and residents of the area who had managed to locate the poacher ship thanks to the noises.

Yannis was paid a bounty for locating the poachers which he used on some cosmetics he having enough for that and to a journey out of the Isles. The little creature having helped him during the poacher battle, a still small rainbowbeast, had seemingly taken liking of Yannis and had kept following him since the poachers were arrested it having been hostile towards the conservationists trying to take it back to its kind. Yannis assumed the poachers had killed its parents and had no issues with adopting the small beast he being sure he could use some company during his journey. The conservationists could not do anything to change the beast's mind and let Yannis take the most likely orphan being giving him instructions to grow it up properly.

Yannis kind of wanted to see other regions but he also wanted to see what was on the west side of the Isles he having feeling he would not get chance to see that after he moved to east. He and the beast made their way to the Focal Point which they started to circle leaving all the biggest towns and landmarks behind as they moved to the less populated area. Upon reaching the westernmost point of the main land of the Focal Point Yannis saw another, smaller land pillar west from there and decided to check the area he having not seen it in any of the maps he had checked. He flied over the small canal between the two landmasses and after getting few steps lower he saw a wood into which he decided to wander.

Yannis and the beast wandered through the wood for a very long time finding some small roads and paths in there Yannis wondering if they could find a village where they could rest that night. It was late afternoon and Yannis really didn't want to rest in the middle of nothing in an area that the Observatory Scouting Squad may not keep in check, and he felt like being watched. The beast was not as scared as Yannis was and walked ahead of the dragon curious about everything it found. Yannis kept his eyes on the beast in case of dangers when his heat eyes noticed something approaching it he leaping to protect the small one.

Yannis had no time to defend himself when the thing ran into him the two falling to the ground both getting to their feet as soon as possible. Yannis turned to face the thing having attacked noticing it to be a black mirror their eyes being still clued to the beast. Yannis leaped to the bigger dragon they dodging without issues turning their attention to Yannis. Yannis found himself pressed against the ground in no time the beast trying to defend him the bigger mirror slamming it away with no intentions to attack.

The older dragon, Silence, seemed disappointed when she noticed having ambushed a traveler with a pet instead of a pair of funny prey. She lifted her hands from Yannis' neck asking what the "not-traveler" was doing in the Dream Wood with his pet monkey Yannis being unable to tell if she was mocking him. Yannis explained he was just exploring asking if the the old mirror knew where the two could rest that night. Silence told them to follow the road and avoid multitude of things before turning around and running to the opposite direction.

Yannis and the beast followed the road it eventually taking them to a small town in where they made their way to the inn. In there the innkeeper Vataja asked where they were from and where they are going telling them where to get lunch before escorting them to their room. After a short sleep Yannis made his way to the cafeteria early in the morning the residents starting to go to sleep. While eating his stew Yannis eavesdropped on the residents hearing them talk about something feeling like being done by someone but the ranger like dragons said they had not seen any hints of the suspects.

Yannis got curious and asked who they assumed was behind whatever it was and if he should try to catch them. He had managed to catch three poachers, sort of, and could probably take on whatever they were talking about. Tahna was fast to say he most certainly should not try to catch the suspects they being powerful mages having been able to hold their stand against group of highly trained mages previous summer when they had ran away after failing to summon the Shade. Pix behind the counter told the current situation was about fairies having taken two of the residents as their prisoners though apparently those dragons had angered a gem guardian in shadow domain.

After finishing the breakfast Yannis made his way to the clan library where Hanako gave him pieces of clan history to read the chronicler having already gone to sleep. The records painted a scary picture of the two mages the residents were talking about, Shadow and Sapny, and Yannis was sure he could not catch them. He though saw another name in there, Glade, ex-nature ambassador who had bounty placed on him by the mages of the Behemoth. Yannis knew he would be paid nicely if he managed to catch the no doubt powerful nature dragon and decided to make that his next big goal taking some smaller bounty hunts too while hunting for the imperial. He decided to make the Ruoigu clan his hub it being outlying enough to keep him safe from criminal revenges that could start happen if and when he started to be known by his targets.

Small pile of pink petals.

Yannis' hunt for Glade was not that successful. He feelt like being close to catching him all the time but when he managed to reach the imperial he had already changed his position. Unsure if the imperial knew he was after him he decided to lay low and focus on some lesser targets hoping that would make the imperial less wary off him. It was not that fun but he did those hoping it would eventually lead him to the big target.

After Yannis had managed to catch some puny jewelry thief he returned to the clan to rest. While there Michelle, a young wildclaw working for international police, came to have word with him. She had seen her daughter sell some artifacts from an excavation site to underground crime circle and had heard where they were heading. Yannis thanked Michelle about the information and left with his rainbowbeast to catch those criminals before they managed to cover their tracks. He managed to locate the subgroup and kept an eye on them planning how to catch most of them the beast starting to be large enough to be massive help. For few weeks Yannis spied them until he saw his chance when they decided to transport their catch. They were not expecting an ambush having assumed the few weeks of no activity had tired of the police forces and Yannis and Berserk the rainbowbeast were able to catch everyone in the area.

It was quite a catch and Yannis was paid nicely he donating some of that to the clan before returning to the underground he having heard some hints of Glade's location and plans while spying the artifact traffickers. Like usual Glade had already managed to vanish when Yannis got to where he had been and he had apparently changed his plans Yannis being unable to find any hints of the imperial from where he was supposed to go. However, he soon started to hear rumors that Michelle and her family had been killed and her partner Max was out there wanting to vengeance them. Yannis felt bad for Michelle and her children but also Max the consensus having that Yannis had been Michelle's partner before Max had made himself known. To make sure the coatl didn't kill himself when dealing with criminals he decided to keep his ears extra sharp to hear if anyone planned something for the dark grey dragon.

Max did pretty well for someone new to crime world though that only made the big names cautions of him and eventually Yannis started to hear about an ambush plan against the coatl. They were the same dragons that had been hired to kill his family and Max would not survive against them alone when Michelle had not survived with her police gear and reinforcements. Yannis and Berserk made their way to where the assassins planned to ambush Max they arriving to scene not a moment too late the assassins being so into having fun with nearly unconscious Max that they were totally caught off guard by Yannis and Berserk storming the room. They managed to catch the assassins, big names with relatively high bounty, and Yannis took them to the police while Berserk was left to guard passed out Max.

Max had yet to wake up when Yannis came back but he had survived the encounter with the assassins and eventually woke up. Yannis had never actually talked with Max but he knew he was from Ruoigu and apologized for the trouble he had caused to the younger dragon. Max did not reply and Yannis moved to ask Max to stop his hunt now that the assassins were captured. Though he had lost a lot there was no need to get killed over that but Max refused to rest. He had set his eyes to the assassins' boss and wouldn't stop until they had been taken care of. Yannis understood that and shared what he knew about the crime boss in hopes of that keeping Max alive he suggesting the coatl to lay low for sometime. It benefited him if his targets thought he was dead. Max thanked for the information and the two went their separate ways Yannis feeling he was close to Glade.

Some time after the encounter with Max Yannis was again eavesdropping in an underground restaurant the news about the death of one specific crime boss spreading like wildfire in Viridian Labyrinth after it had been suffered from drought for weeks. Yannis knew Max had succeeded and with the knowledge of where the boss had met his end he made his way to where he assumed Max woud arrive the tired coatl and his harpy friend eventually showing up at the port. Both of them were broke and Yannis offered to pay their trip back to home with the extra money he had left from catching the assassins that being his way to apologize for Michelle's fate but Max probably didn't see it like that. He returned to home and Yannis returned to track down Glade he having strong feeling he was getting close, again.

Yannis once again lost his lead and he decided to return home to rest and to see if Max had gotten there safely. Upon arriving he soon saw Max in the cafeteria and after getting something eat himself he decided to change how he should try catch the nature imperial who always seemed to get away. The following night he was about to get something to eat before actually starting to rework his hunt strategy when a frantic bone bogsneak caught his eye she looking like wanting to see someone an arrow in their chest. Yannis watched as the bogsneak got her bow and arrows and walked to the Hoard to pick up some poisons he deciding to ask what was the matter. Max had just had his revenge trip and Yannis did not want another one to follow in his footsteps.

Yannis stopped the bogsneak, Soili, to ask what she was up to Berserk blocking her way out of the conversation. Soili clearly was not in mood for chatting but she told that she had encountered a masked nature imperial who had offered to heal her melted face but who had just melted her organs instead and killed her brother as sacrifice. Apparently the imperial had been green and Yannis, recognizing Glade's description, asked if the imperial had told his name. Sadly, he had been smart enough to keep that as secret Yannis being sure that had been Glade.

Silence arriving to the scene was convinced that the imperial Soili described was Glade she knowing Glade in any context. Soili was impatient and asked if she was allowed to leave Silence being strongly against that she saying the two of the, Yannis unsure why she though they were going after the dragon as duo, would just get themselves killed. Not only was he a powerful nature mage but he also had power to take control over Yannis' and Soili's companions they most likely ending up battling three versus two. She knew, she had seen that.

Before they went after the imperial Yannis being hyped to have his target that close they visited clan's shadow ambassador Ayla to get something to protect their companions. Silence was as excited about the imperial hunt as was Yannis she saying she had a personal bone to pick the dragon. She was very open about what they were going to do Ayla being terrified and warned them to not bring Glade back there. Silence was confident that would not happen Yannis seeing her hunger for blood, something he heard their clan mates mention quite often, in her eyes. Once they were ready Soili led the two mirrors to where she had encountered the imperial clan's sailor Mosaic getting them there in no time.

Unsurprisingly Glade was no longer where Soili had encountered him in Dragonhome. Yannis though was able to gather some information and heard the imperial was heading towards the light domain the trio rushing there through the shadow domain. Silence and Soili's hainu scouted ahead and eventually they were able to catch up with the imperial at the Emperor's Wake they hiding to prepare for ambush. Silence criticized Glade for his arrogance he having apparently not changed his look at all since leaving the clan despite having very high bounty on his head. It was night and thanks to his heat eyes Yannis was able to see Glade and his companions stop they all turning to look at their direction Yannis feeling the grass get oddly lively. Silence had told Glade could control the plants and Yannis followed her as she rushed towards the imperial aiming to strike from other side while Soili fired an arrow.

Berserk took on Glade's two companions while Yannis and Silence tried to attack the imperial creating a wall of plants around him other plants trying to attack the two mirrors. Silence had not lied when she had said Glade would be tough opponent neither mirror being able to get anywhere near the masked imperial while they both struggled to not be hit by his nature magic. They had fought for who knew how long Yannis noticing they had moved towards the Hewn City and the Sun was about to rise. Around that time Soili was able to land a successful hit that distracting the imperial long enough for Yannis to get past the wall of rampaging roots and land his first hits Silence on the other side doing the same.

The tide of the battle had turned and Glade had struggled to stand with the long battle having drained his energy along with all the hits he started to get. Yannis was almost hit by an old skull his roots dug up when he tried to turn the tide of the battle back to having him dominate the arcane dragons but neither Silence nor Yannis were letting that happen. Glade getting desperate tried to pull one odd move and separated his soul from his body Yannis not being sure if he tried to create an emperor or if he tried to make himself undead. Before that though happened Glade's soul got sucked into one of the skulls having been dug up during their battle Yannis looking at the turn of events rather confused.

Silence's growl snapped Yannis out of his confusion he seeing her in battle ready position against two very weird looking primal-eyed dragons both looking more like aliens imitating dragons than actual dragons. Yannis had read enough clan history to make connection to Shadow and Sapny who had worked with Glade about a year ago. The two looked scary with their unblinking eyes and the fact that Silence felt threatened by them didn't make Yannis feel any better he preparing to another battle despite being so tired he could barely stand. The two alien dragons though left before battle broke up and there were no traces left of either of them when local clans came to check what the nightly battle had been all about.

Having caught his target Yannis got a bit help from the local clans to get Glade's body and the skull in which his soul was trapped to the Behemoth so he could claim his prize. In the Behemoth Glade's body was burned, to avoid creating more emperors, and the skull was sent to the Fortress of Ends. After getting his reward, and some rest, Yannis and Berserk returned home and took a break from hunting criminals now that their big target was taken care off. After few weeks of doing nothing Yannis and Berserk returned to work they eventually meeting Soili who had become assassin after the encounter with Glade. The two had a short chat Yannis hoping she would not get bounty he not wanting to capture the one who helped him to reach his long-lasting goal.

Small pile of pink petals.

After having caught Glade Yannis and Berserk continued bounty hunting. They had no one big goal but Yannis hoped he could once capture at least one of the big crime bosses while Berserk wanted to get rid of the poachers. Because both were motivated by other thing than money, reputation and revenge respectively, their targets couldn't really buy out their bounty. That caused the duo to have good reputation especially in international police's eyes and some authority types as well.

Once Yannis received an invitation by a high-ranking dragon who asked him to come visit them in their house in Southern Icefield. Upon arriving Yannis saw few other bounty hunters in there too they having all been invited there. When every bounty hunter had arrived, most of them being familiar to Yannis, the client appeared. They told they had once served a prosperous country in the ice domain but it had sadly fallen due to a one particular rebel who had escaped before the total destruction. The dragon in question was called Kalani, a red ice mirror who had worked as warrior and thus owned a name plate carried on the neck. She was last seen escaping to the north wearing a black wolf cape months ago. The client promised five hundred gems to the hunter who brought her to them.

The challenge intrigued Yannis, not because it sounded challenging or the rewards was anything extra ordinary, but because he had feeling he knew were the rebel was. The details were not one to one but there was enough overlap to connect the rebel Kalani to Kalani who had arrived to the clan around the time when the country was said to fall. If the two were the same dragon the order would be a very easy way for Yannis to make some nice cash. He and Berserk visited the ruined country as to look for clues but in truth they let the other bounty hunters to leave first. Risk of them going to the clan and finding Kalani first was very low and Yannis didn't really see point stressing over potentially losing the huge sum of gems. After checking the ruins the two made their way straight to the the clan in order to confront Kalani head on.

Most of the residents, Kalani and Yannis included, lived underground in the tunnel network. That was perfect for Yannis who found Kalani underground cleaning her nest he and Berserk placing themselves to keep the younger mirror in the nest. Yannis started with friendly approach greeting the other mirror glancing to the necklace she had it fitting the description of warrior nameplate the client had said Kalani would have. Yannis asked directly if Kalani was the rebel who had caused the downfall of the country in the south she asking what it mattered if she was. Yannis explained that she had got bounty on her head and asked if she came with them peacefully or if she preferred the harder way.

Yannis knew he had upper hand if they ended up fighting. Kalani had weapons she could use but the cave was not large enough for her to use them effectively, and Berserk was also there. Still, he rather avoided fight as he could get hurt by her weapons and he didn't want to waste time patching himself. Berserk could also get hurt but he was bigger and thus more durable than Yannis.

The situation seemed hard for Kalani she being totally silent even after Yannis demanded reply. As they waited it became clear to Yannis that she was not going to just give herself in. She though seemed to know she was in a bad spot and Yannis took a step towards her as to tell her either to pull her weapons or surrender. The young one though had an ace in her sleeve and before Yannis was able to take another step Kalani turned to sparkles that flew past him and Berserk and into Kolari's billy who had just walked past them. The billy started rushing out of the cave Kalani's robot friend following. Yannis was confused of what exactly happened but he was able to gather that Kalani had somehow jumped into the billy and possessed it. She was about to get away and Yannis rushed to catch the billy.

Once out of the cave Yannis just saw Kalani jump out of the billy and run towards the southern exit. Yannis ran after her having a good idea of what she tried to do. In the south there was a defense sector that housed a lot of wolves. Kalani was able to turn into a wolf with her cape and Yannis guessed she tried to hide in the wolf pack. Yannis followed Kalani's trail her steps turning to wolf paw prints soon enough before turning to the wood. Yannis and Berserk followed the print to the wood the plants making seeing the trail hard. The two scouted the area ignoring the curious eyes tracking them up from the trees Yannis knowing they were the sector's residents.

Suddenly Berserk yelled and started chasing something Yannis joining him. Kalani had either made a bad mistake or she had a plan Yannis noticing she had a clear direction where she was running. He had chased enough criminals to know when they had an escape plan and when they did not. Kalani ran towards the beach Yannis assuming she planned to summon a fish or something. Taking flight would eliminate Berserk from her pursuers but the weapons she had under her wing would hinder her and give Yannis upper hand. The weapons would be issue even if she decided to swim instead.

Kalani managed to reach the coast in where she possessed a gull and flew away while Yannis stayed on the ground. He could have tried to fly after it but catching a flying gull was too much of a trouble. He watched as Kalani flew away towards south Yannis noting that her possessing ability seemed to affect her weapons too. Yannis' analysis was interrupted when Berserk demanded his attention. Not that far was Sharkbite, Mosaic's ship, seeming having just left clan's small port. Yannis took flight and flew to the ship asking if the snapper was in the hurry. He was not, like usual, and Yannis asked if he could get him and Berserk to the ice domain fast. He had nothing else to do and they visited the coast to get Berserk aboard. After that they continued chasing their target.

As they sailed towards the icy wasteland Yannis tried to guess what Kalani tried to do. Coming to the the ice domain gave her the upper hand as ice dragon but Yannis assumed she didn't plan to run and hide. Based on the little he knew about her she seemed like a dragon who would try to solve the issue and she was probably smart enough to realize that eliminating bounty hunters didn't make the bounty go away. Berserk and Yannis both came to same conclusion that the warrior would seek the one having placed the bounty and, judging by her past, kill them. If they ended up being right the two could use their knowledge to ambush their target as they knew where Kalani's target was, but she probably didn't.

Upon reaching the main land of the ice domain Yannis and Berserk started to make their way towards the fallen country. On their way they saw some lone wolf paw prints on the soft spring snow both assuming they were Kalani's. They followed them and they seemed to lead straight to the fallen country Yannis guessing she was trying to find clues. In order to get to his client from the country Kalani would most likely make her way through one specific ruined town and Yannis decided to rush there in order to reach it before Kalani would.

The ruined town was between the country's old capital and the town where the client lived now. Yannis had noticed that when having come to check the ruins and he was quite happy he had done that. Assuming Kalani didn't fly over them as an eagle she should walk through there and Berserk kept an eye on the road that led to the capital he having way better camouflage than Yannis. Eventually the beast came to Yannis telling he had seen Kalani and the two decided to hide on the opposite sides on the main road hoping the younger dragon would walk through them.

After waiting silently for some time the two saw Kalani walk down the main road with her robot and as they walked closer the two prepared to strike. Kalani's robot, however, caused some issues it detecting the two hiding bounty hunters. As Kalani asked what the robot had detected Yannis decided to act early before they were noticed Kalani barely dodging his claws as he leaped forward. On the other side Berserk was ready and actually managed to grab Kalani's crest before letting go in order to avoid her spear. The warrior took a defensive stand standing on her hind legs holding the spear Yannis and Berserk preparing to leap forward if she decided to try escaping.

The three stood there silently waiting someone to move. Despite having weapons Kalani was actually in most trouble. It was two versus one, Berserk alone could beat Kalani even if she had weapons. Escaping was out of question for her. Yannis outrun Kalani if she tried to run on her hind legs and if she tried to put the spear away that would give the bounty hunters enough time to tackle her. She could have tried flying but again with the weapons under her wing Yannis would be able to catch her with ease.

With their target cornered Yannis asked Kalani to surrender. She was basically trapped and Yannis didn't want to get hurt in the cold of the ice domain. Kalani was not going to just give up and in order to buy more time for herself she asked if it had been "the advisor" who had placed the bounty. Yannis was not sure what the rank of the client had been but it was clear they had been some high-ranking in the country Kalani destroyed. Kalani was soon to "correct" that the leaders had ruined the country themselves frustration and anger in Kalani's voice telling Yannis that she didn't make that up, probably.

Yannis stayed silent assuming Kalani would explain more which she eventually did. She told how the towns paid taxes to the capital and how those taxes had just kept rising even though the towns could not pay them or maintain themselves for that matter. Kalani just had not been able to just stand there and watch as they were basically robbed poor. Kalani's robot friend joined the conversation and told how Kalani had lost her home, one of her parents and her familiar when she had tried to stand up that explaining both her wolf cape and the way-too-intelligent robot.

Yannis was able to sense that Berserk had been moved by the story and most likely would turn on Yannis if he decided to keep pushing for surrender. Yannis asked what Kalani's plan was right now. If she planned to kill the advisor, which seemed to be the case, she would most likely cause more harm for herself. Killing someone so high would get international police after her, and she would not want that. Kalani stood there silently for some time before telling she would not give herself in. What she did was justified, in her eyes.

The situation got tricky to all parties Yannis glancing to Berserk asking his opinion but he looked at him to ask the same. Suddenly Kalani asked if Yannis had already been paid which he had not. He had not been hired, he had been challenged with few other bounty hunter, and there were probably even more who had heard about the bounty. After hearing that Yannis had not been paid yet Kalani asked him to help her saying she could pay more than the advisor. Yannis though was not able to tell how the young warrior would get that amount of gems and neither did Kalani. She fell back to silence trying to figure out what to do.

That was when Berserk had an idea he starting to explain it the best he could with the limited amount of sign marks he knew. Knowing that Kalani didn't understand Berserk's signs Yannis read them aloud to both explain to the fellow mirror and to check he had understood right. Berserk had seen the advisor's guards and one of them had had a basilisk. Yannis would take Kalani to the advisor like he had managed to catch her and he would get the payment. After that Kalani could try to possess the basilisk and turn the advisor and the guards to stone and escape after that was done. She didn't need to get her claws red and everyone would assume the basilisk had gone berserk. The plan was risky, especially if there was someone who could revert the petrification, but it was better than the stalemate they were currently in.

Kalani gave Yannis her weapons and the robot and let him cast few binding spells. Turned out they prevented Kalani from possessing or shape-shifting and Yannis had to remember to remove them before he left Kalani with the advisor. Otherwise their little plan would fail and Kalani would be dead. Luckily Yannis' spell was invisible so removing it without being noticed shouldn't be an issue. Yannis escorted Kalani to the advisor who was pleased to have her. They gave Yannis bag full of gems which he counting before leaving, just in case. As one of the servants was escorting Yannis out of advisor's room Yannis removed the binding spells and silently wished luck for the younger mirror.

Yannis or Berserk did not hear battle noises as they walked away from the office and nothing seemed out of ordinary as they walked away from the house. The mirrors had promised to meet at the town's gate and Yannis made his way there waiting Kalani or her robot to arrive. If neither came by midnight Yannis and Berserk would assume the worst and leave. The two waited until Berserk noticed Kalani's robot fly towards them. It told the plan had been a success and now they only had to wait Kalani make her way there.

Only way Kalani had managed to get out of the room was by possessing a cockroach and she needed to find something that stood cold before she could make her way to the meeting place. Nearing the sunset Kalani finally arrived in form of a dove. She returned to her dragon form and the group started to make way back home Yannis wondering how much he should donate to clan's bank. He was not worried about other bounty hunters. Paying attention to rumors was crucial to track down the targets and sooner or later they would hear Kalani was captured or that the advisor was no longer able to pay. Maybe they heard both.

Small pile of pink petals.

What had happened to the advisor was written off as a familiar gone rogue and the poor thing had ended up being a heavy price for that. At least that was what Yannis heard when he got to hunting again after getting the earned money home. He also heard he had been spotted around the area with or without Kalani around that time but no one openly accused him of anything, not even the ones that didn’t particularly like him. Yannis was a bit infamous among bounty hunters, mostly for acting for the thrill and not for the money and because he looked a little silly. Some even called him “flamboyant”. Some didn’t mind that and saw Yannis as a rival who gave them a challenge while others thought he mocked them and gave bounty hunters a bad name.

It was over six months since the advisor had been turned to stone, and not turned back, and Yannis and Berserk had gone hunting again after taking a break. They had stopped on their usual starting place and Yannis had gone to get updated news while Berserk went through the wanted posters on the board. Eventually he called Yannis to check something he had found but instead of sounding confident like usually he sounded worried this time. Yannis came closer and Berserk lifted his finger from the poster. Yannis took a look and was quite surprised when he saw the wanted dragon was Richard.

Yannis wasn’t particularly close with Richard but he knew the spiral well. He was a poet and he had recently published a modestly received poem collection. Berserk was into poems and quite liked Richard because of that, he even had a special copy of the recent collection thanks to living in the same clan as the spiral. Yannis though could not figure out why someone would want the spiral for such a high price, dead or alive. He took a look at who offered the five digit gem price and saw it was Pahatar.

Yannis knew that name as well. She had been a wildclaw from the clan who tried to take over the leadership by manipulating dragon through their dreams. It had failed and she now lived in an old manor near the southern border. Yannis had not been in the clan when the takeover attempt had taken place but he had heard of it and he was happy it had failed. The younger dragon would have probably kicked him out of his haven for “not fitting her ideal image”. Yannis though couldn’t tell why she wanted Richard so badly, he had read his recent collection and nothing there looked like it would upset her.

Yannis also had no idea where she got the money she offered. It was a lot for a dragon who wasn’t that big of a threat, and that was not even the only bounty she offered. She also wanted Finlande, who Yannis could not have named if the name was not in the poster, for the same price as Richard and Marjatta, clan’s mercenary, for much higher price. Then there were bounties for some kind of researcher and a magical mirror between the two other prices, neither of which seemed familiar to Yannis. Yannis turned to look at Berserk who moved his head towards Richard’s poster worried and Yannis understood he wanted to warn the poet. They decided to return back to the lair and let all three know, along with the leaders.

Yannis decided letting leaders know first was the best course of action; the bounties of the three were so high it was only matter of time before bounty hunters decided to catch them, and two of the dragons were quite easy targets. Alfa was hunting by the time Yannis arrived to the lair and he asked Azul where Tinker was. The old spiral told she was at the healing offices seeing Finlande, and both Richard and Marjatta were presumably there too. Yannis rushed to the temple in order to inform all four at once and arrived on time. Tinker was still there talking to the three and Yannis asked for her attention. The ridgeback was dismissive towards Yannis at first, because she was in the middle of something, but turned around once Yannis told his topic affected the three she was talking to. He told about the bounties and Tinker asked him to inform Trooper and help if needed. Yannis left the room and rushed to find the strategist.

Trooper decided to increase the defense and see how the situation started to develop. Yannis and Berserk had helped with informing the border guards about the situation after which the warriors had been made aware so they could lend a hand in case the guards needed that. The rangers and Silence had also been informed but otherwise the situation had been kept vague when it came to majority. Though wanting to go hunt some bounties Yannis decided to stay home both to not be seen as guilty if any of the three went missing and because he could recognize other hunters if any of them managed to sneak in.

Things remained somewhat peaceful for nice amount of time, Yannis assumed the researcher and the mirror lured some of the hunters away from the lair. However, one afternoon he noticed a familiar dragon in the lair who was not one of the residents. Though he was wearing his casual clothes, and a skin to be extra safe, they recognized Yannis and came to have a chat with him. The bounty hunter was older and more experienced than what Yannis was, and though they were not the most hostile to him they were among the more critical ones. As a hunter they were not the most ruthless but instead they were on the more cunning end.

The older hunter greeted Yannis quite warmly and he did his best to hide the fact he felt quite awkward meeting them like that. He couldn’t really shout out a warning and asked what brought them there to keep them occupied. That way they could not ambush any of the three and others saw they were there. The older hunter told they had come to get an autograph to the poem collection they had bought, Yannis assumed that was an excuse to get close to the poet and the other two. The border guards were supposed to stop anyone who looked like a bounty hunter and though the older one was sneaky they should not have gotten past the sectors. Yannis asked how they got in and they told they had used the portal that connected the lair to the previous one. It was quite clever to use it to bypass the security.

Marjatta walked in the background and though their eyes met with the bounty hunter neither did anything. Instead the bounty hunter kept their attention in Yannis and complemented his home before asking why he didn’t seize the opportunity he had right in front of him. Berserk answered to the question but the hunter did not understand the beast. They looked at Yannis and he said he didn’t believe Pahatar had the money she offered to pay. The hunter then asked why he cared when he went in fun first and Yannis couldn’t really figure out the answer.

The hunter, who was bigger than Yannis, lowered their head and whispered he needed to be consistent if he wanted to be seen as a serious bounty hunter; either he followed the money or he quit the game. Kalani had been walking towards the border to check if any of the guards needed help, when she had stopped to see with who Yannis was interacting with. Kalani was not that close but the bounty hunter had time to take a good look at her and no doubt they recognized the fellow mirror as the one the advisor had wanted earlier that year. Finding her in good health in the same clan as Yannis clearly intrigued them.

They knew of the rumor that Yannis had been seen leaving the advisor’s home with Kalani when they had been turned to stone and they seemed to make some assumptions from that. They took the bounty hunter job seriously and for them it was unacceptable to betray the client like Yannis had apparently done. The situation was turning from awkward to dangerous. Berserk clearly saw the fellow bounty hunter as a threat, Kalani had also come to same conclusion and approached weapon in hand, the bounty hunter had pushed their head so low Yannis was standing head pressed down making defending hard and the clan had noticed the unfamiliar and suspicious looking visitor. Whatever the hunter’s plan had originally been it seemed to have fallen apart, and having noticed that they changed their goal to punish Yannis for giving bounty hunters a bad name.

The hunter used their arm to slam Yannis’ head to the ground as they closed it in their palm. Yannis had not been able to dodge but he was soon freed thanks to Berserk who acted fast. Kalani also rushed closer and engaged in battle while Yannis tried to back away. He was not wearing clothes suitable to a battle and him being the target attacking the larger dragon was not the best idea especially when they seemed to be aiming at him. The hunter noticed Yannis’ uncertainty and they mocked him for being a coward. Yannis wasn’t sure if he should engage in battle till the hunter was imprisoned as he was the target or if he should keep his distance. As he was trying to figure out the best course of action the hunter leaped forward despite the two holding them back and Yannis did his best to defend himself. Before the situation got worse a spell hit the hunter and they were turned to a crystal statue.

Yannis turned to see who had fired the spell and saw Max not that far away. Most of the clan had gone hiding once the battle had started. Along with Max the only ones present were the leaders, Trooper, Obsidius, Rubikin and Kronk all of them being ready to act if the situation got any worse. Alfa came closer to check what the end situation was. He ordered the two mirrors and the beast to go see the healers after which the rest came closer to figure out what to do next. Yannis was ordered to the temple and he did not hear what happened next.

Yannis was not badly hurt, none of the three were, and they all joined the trial the following night. The bounty hunter was brought in and tied to the center with magical chackles, something they clearly found degrading. They were accused for attempts of kidnapping, using unwarranted force against residents and an attempt of kill. The hunter was not really in mood for interrogation and tried all kinds of charming tricks to be let go but Karmiini was not that easily persuaded. The bounty hunter was found guilty and the clan started to brainstorm for a punishment the weirdest suggestion being crystallizing the hunter and throwing them into the sea. Karmiini though thought that was not suitable. Yannis didn’t suggest anything but he pointed out things that should be kept in mind, like how the bounty hunter could be a threat if they were kept in the clan or sent to the Observatory. Ultimately the judge landed on wiping the memory and keeping them in clan’s prison until the situation with bounty hunters calmed down.

The bounty hunter had their memory wiped and they were placed in the Crystal Cave as soon as possible. After the close call many hoped the following night would be calmer but Finlande went missing before most of the clan even got up. What the witnesses saw hinted towards someone invisible being behind the capture and Puolanka asked if Yannis knew any bounty hunters capable of turning invisible. He did not but if their method was to act without being seen they would probably keep very low profile. No one else went missing and the investigator started to wonder if the one having captured Finlande wasn’t a bounty hunter but something else. It took over a week before the culprit was found that being clan’s mage Naru who had captured the skydancer for her experiments. She wasn’t giving her back and instead of answering to her crime she decided to escape Yannis being among the dragons trying to catch her. She though was able to rise earth to slow her pursuers down and Yannis spent more time walking past the obstacles than trying to catch the nocturne. That was enough for her to get away with Finlande.

The situation with the bounty hunters was not calming down and the border guards, and everyone involved with protecting the clan, was getting tired. Getting rid of Pahatar would have solved the situation but it was way easier said and done and ultimately the dragons with bounties ended up solving the situation by leaving the clan. They didn’t leave for good, Marjatta moved to live on a boat that belonged to one of the residents and Richard spent some time in clan’s older lair. By the time the poet came back the hunters had heard the targets no longer lived in the lair and had moved on. As the situation calmed down and the amnesiac hunter was let go Yannis and Berserk decided to go do some hunting themselves. Maybe they could figure out how the fourth target was doing as the mirror had, somehow, ended up in the clan and to Naru. She had taken it away as she ran away.

Traits

Yannis is an arcane mirror with red body having metallic sheen and pink shimmering wings. He has white sharp blade like scales around his body he having obtained them as act of rebelling when he changed from snapper to mirror. Having been originally a snapper Yannis is rather broad-shouldered and he has somewhat short snoot. He dislikes his red coloring and has tried to decrease the amount of red he has with a spell he bought with his clothes it making his wings and crests fin like with bright blue edges and adding him some blue dots. He has common pink eyes, large fangs and somewhat dull claws.

Yannis didn't really think for long what he would like to wear he picking the brightest and wildest outfit set he could find without red. He has bright blue and magenta lion headdress, a kilt and banner on his wing they having hint of bright green, boots, arm guard and shoulder guard they having yellow on them and gilded claws on his front legs. He also has piercings on his right crests. After settling to the clan he has enhanced his outfit to let him turn into a bright lion like creature for short period of time he using that to bait poachers and sneak near his targets. When taking a break from work he might be wearing totally different outfit to keep his scales safe from criminals that have seen him in his bright attire. That attire is never the same it was time before.

Yannis has very dry and clear voice and he is known to be both very serious and rebellious when speaking. He is direct with what he wants to say and he isn't afraid to show that he was eavesdropping. He has clear Greece accent.

Yannis was a bit of a rebel dragon he having a clear angst season in his life he running away from home just to act against the expectations placed on him. That phase ended as soon as it started when he was not treated based on his birth conditions. He though isn't keen on living "normally" and wants to do something a bit more risky. He is easily motivated by money, not because of greed but because he finds it useful to both him and others, and combining that with his will to have less predictable life he found himself hunting dragons and beastclan members with bounty on their head. Yannis isn't that cunning but he is smart and does use his head quite a lot when working and when taking a break doing so in places with little traffic. Assassins hired by accomplices of his target are noticed more easily that way.

Yannis isn't that social dragon he mostly spending his time with his plans. He though is often seen with dragons either collecting information about his targets or finding new ones either by eavesdropping or talking face to face. He is well-mannered but also doesn't feel bad for basically spying on others. He feels it is alright because his goal is to catch criminals or otherwise dangerous individuals and he needs that information to do so. If the target notices and is bothered he can pay back with the bounty he gets from catching his target. Yannis is confident with his skills and is expecting to become well-known in underground circles. He knows that when that happens the members of those are going to go after him and he keeps his guard up all the time to be ready for that.

Yannis is accompanied by a rainbowbeast Berserk who he saved when catching his first criminals. Berserk sees Yannis as his parent and is very loyal to him because of that no one hurting the dragon as long as he is near. He got strong as he grew up and though not able to speak Berserk is smart he understanding dragon speech, little bit of centaur too, and he can also read and count he being very into poems about which Yannis doesn't care at all even if he could understand them. He can also use a little bit of sign language. Berserk helps Yannis in his work and is often the ace in the sleeve during the hunts. Berserk hates poachers due to his childhood and may be rather brutal when hunting those but can hold back if Yannis so wants.

Yannis keeps his skills in practical level he being rather weak with magic only knowing binding and levitating spells. When it comes to practical stuff Yannis is good with connecting dots in his head that making him very good tracker. He can also read faces his heat vision helping him to see if someone is lying. He can also read prints his targets might have left and use those to tell where they have gone and how. With the outfit he wears Yannis can also turn into a bright colored lion creature for few minutes he using that to bait poachers and even other criminals.
