Biography

Lifeblood and her two older siblings Cynder and Chrome hatched as a competition between nature and plague flights started. All three had obtained their pearls by the time some plague hatchlings came to live in the hatchery but Lifeblood had no time to play with her coevals. She and her siblings had come to be through an odd event and they were sent to the Observatory to be studied.

Lifeblood and her siblings’ mother was a normal pearlcatcher but their father was not a normal dragon. Apparently, he was a familiar that had been turned into a dragon by their mother Elena through alchemy and science. That was not the first time the familiar-dragon thing had had dragon hatchlings with a natural dragon, Lemmikki had come to be when the not-true-dragon had encountered Hattara and the mutual fear had caused the egg to manifest.

Why Lifeblood and her siblings got so much attention when compared to their older sister was because of their genes. Lemmikki and Lifeblood were both genetic copies of their mothers but both Cynder and Chrome had genes that their mother did not have. Chrome had two overlapping genes while Cynder had none and the dragons wanted to figure out how that had happened. The older siblings got more attention than Lifeblood did due to their odd genes and she mostly spent her time with Lenny, a scholar who was from the same clan than Lifeblood and her siblings were.

The two mostly talked as playing and teaching of useful things were done by other dragons in the Observatory. The wildclaw asked how things had been in the clan, if the leaders were still the same, if his siblings were alright and if Malvadust was still clan’s only healer. Lifeblood answered the best she could with having had to leave so soon and in return the wildclaw helped her to deal with getting less attention and feeling like having something wrong with her. She felt like her body was somehow wrong, it didn’t feel like presenting her. At first Lenny thought it might be because of her heritage but Lifeblood’s older siblings didn’t mention feeling “wrong” and the scholar started to wonder if it was something else entirely.

Lifeblood lived in the Observatory with her siblings being taught all kinds of stuff while not being studied. Lifeblood herself was very gifted with healing stuff almost feeling like it was because of her name, Cynder in turn was gifted with void magic and Chrome had knack for mechanical work. They all felt at home in the massive building except for Lifeblood who just was not comfortable with herself no matter what. She wasn’t that close with her siblings, none of them were due to their different gifts, but Lifeblood tried to approach them wanting to figure out what was wrong with her. Neither Cynder or Chrome felt like Lifeblood did, and never had. Unsure of what was wrong with their little sister the two suggested her to try studying in another domain in case the arcane magic was making her feel like she was. Lifeblood wasn’t really fond of the idea feeling at home in arcane but promised to consider the change if things didn’t turn better.

The odd origin didn’t really connect the siblings and they drifted apart. Lifeblood lived mostly by herself having barely any friends due to how she felt in her body that reflecting to how she felt with others. Despite of how she felt in her body she had finished her base studies of healing and was recovering from the course test. She was napping in her room and had a terrible nightmare. She was in the wood in where her hatching clan lived. There were few dead bodies Lifeblood recognizing Lemmikki’s body and a monstrous figure burning herbs around it. The nightmare repeated every night until Lifeblood decided to go see what the dreams were trying to tell. Lenny and few other dragons from the clan said the clan was supposedly fine but Lifeblood had a feeling she would not be seeing those nightmares if it was going to remain like that.

The way back home should have been easy the road connecting the clan and the Observatory being the safest out of the roads in the wood. Lifeblood just happened to be unlucky and before she reached the western defense sector she encountered a veilspun spirit. She was not sure what happened but she then found herself somewhere that was not the road she was supposed to be on. It was smaller and way less used. Unsure of where she was Lifeblood turned her eyes to the nightsky asking Eahket, one of wood's guardians, for guidance. The spirit showed her the way and Lifeblood started to walk towards the destination.

Lifeblood had not gotten that far when she got a feeling something was stalking her. She stopped to see what it was being sure it was not one of the spirits. After scouting the surrounding area she was able to see what looked like glowing horns, five pairs by the looks of it. They were hard to spot due to them blending in with the crystals but the longer Lifeblood looked at them the surer she was they were not crystals. Upon seeing being noticed the thing, a five headed dragon like thing, stepped out of its hide and attacked Lifeblood. She tried to escape but the earth blast on the back followed by wind and fire blast caused her to stumble and she soon felt sharp claws biting her tail, neck and wings.

Lifeblood was lying on the ground, beaten. She had no power to move, the thing had broken her capsule belly and the liquid was pouring out, her pearl had been lost in the middle of the battle and her senses were blurry. Lifeblood was sure she was not going to make it and just remained there, silently, waiting the end to come. She felt something close and opened her eyes. Her vision was too blurry to make out what it exactly was, but the thing just in front of her face looked like a muzzle of a unicorn. The maybe-unicorn just looked Lifeblood and she soon passed out, maybe for the second time.

As Lifeblood lied between life and death she had time to reflect on herself. As she did that she noticed why her body had felt wrong. She had never really felt like a female, maybe not even a pearlcatcher. As she analyzed the situation she noticed she felt more “he” than she felt “she”, and maybe that had always been the case. He had been a male in female body, as a breed with noticeable gender difference none the less. That realization made him feel peaceful and he drifted back into unconsciousness, ready to move on.

Lifeblood was not sure how long it had been but he was still alive when he woke up feeling somehow quite alive. His capsule had seemingly been absorbed to his skin, or someone had changed his genes while he had been out. His skin now sparkled with cyan stars while no marks of his cyan capsule were seen on his belly. It was all the same color as the rest of his body. Behind his back Lifeblood noticed a small dark unicorn, he didn’t know animals well enough to tell if it was a foal or just of a smaller breed. It didn’t seem to fear Lifeblood it just watching him with curious eyes. It didn’t answer when Lifeblood asked if it had brought him back to life indicating it couldn’t speak though something told Lifeblood that it understood the question.

After trying to figure out what exactly had happened Lifeblood came to conclusion that Ealga, one of wood’s guardians, had saved him. Whether or not the small unicorn was the spirit itself was not clear but Lifeblood decided it was spirit’s envoy. It didn’t make sense for the spirit to have become physical like that. Lifeblood wondered if the spirit wanted him to act as clan’s second healer, as the current one was both old and limited with what he could do. As he got up the little unicorn started to lead the way towards the clan Lifeblood taking that as confirmation to his assumptions. The two walked through the wood Lifeblood randomly finding a nocturne scroll, possibly having been dropped by a nocturne during the previous Mimic night. He used it to change his breed to something with smaller gender difference, and to stop feeling uneasy about the lost pearl. After that he and the unicorn kept on walking Lifeblood eventually recognizing the defense sector before them.

Upon reaching the lair itself Lifeblood got some curious looks everyone seemingly thinking he was a visitor. Azul arrived to ask if “the visitor“ needed any help Lifeblood being very honest with her. He didn’t blame her for not recognizing him considering how long it had been since he had been in there and how much he had changed just recently. The spiral believed him when he said he was locals and told Malvadust to be in the healing offices when Lifeblood asked about that. Lifeblood thanked the spiral and went to see the tundra.

Malvadust didn’t remember Lifeblood as well as Azul did but he was eventually convinced when Lifeblood proved he knew some of the locals. After introducing himself to the older healer Lifeblood told what he had experienced in the Observatory and in the wood. He had a feeling Ealga had called him there to act as clan’s second, more magically oriented healer and asked if the tundra was alright with having him there. The tundra watched both Lifeblood and his small unicorn silently for some time Lifeblood being sure he sensed some worry from the older dragon. The tundra took the two in and Lifeblood started to broaden his knowledge of magic healing with help of Malvadust. The unicorn stayed with them the two healers agreeing it was the envoy of the unicorn guardian.

Small pile of pink petals.

Lifeblood settled into the clan easily, the residents were welcoming and didn’t linger long in either fact that he had once been identified as a female or that he might have experience rebirth with the help of Ealga. As a hatchling he had not had chance to really get to know his clan mates and fixing that was his main priority after he had gotten himself his own nest. Fauna was among the first residents he got to know well the deaf gardener often visiting the healing offices to deliver herbs. Through her he also learned of Tilia, an imperial who had had her personality split by Lifeblood’s predecessor. Malvadust was not sure what had caused the split, no one knew, and Lifeblood decided to try solve the mystery.

Fauna and Malvadust told the little they knew about Tilia and the other three personalities after which Lifeblood went to meet the imperial himself. He visited her about four times and managed to time them so that he got to meet all the personalities. It was even harden than what it sounded like as the personalities changed at random though never when someone was present. Lifeblood went through some medical books to see if something similar had happened before and he found one condition. There just was few things that didn’t quite match, biggest being that none of the personalities could talk. Before the split Tilia had been able to speak without problems and even after the split the personalities had had that ability but for some reason it had vanished. No matter where Lifeblood looked losing speech was never mentioned as potential symptom of the condition he had found, and unsure he decided to not go any further.

It was few months since Lifeblood had stopped investigating Tilia. He was alone in the healing offices as Malvadust had decided to spent that night relaxing when Pascal rushed in with a badly injured nocturne. He told he had saved him from hostile Harpies back in wind domain and Lifeblood did his best to save the fellow nocturne. He managed to stop bleeding after which he cleaned the wounds. He had managed to stable his state after which all he could do was wait. He waited for two nights before the other nocturne decided to wake up.

Lifeblood thanked Ealga as he saw the other nocturne wake up. He asked how he was feeling and the other nocturne asked where he was. Lifeblood told he was in a place known as Ruoigu and he had been saved by a dragon called Pascal. The other nocturne asked if he could meet his savior and Lifeblood told he would come to see him sooner or later, he was the wind ambassador and the nocturne was a wind dragon. He asked the injured dragon to rest and soon enough he fell back to sleep.

Once the other nocturne woke up again he was clearly feeling a lot better. Lifeblood asked Azul to get Pascal there and as they waited the obelisk to arrive the two nocturnes introduces each other the other one being Undreg. Pascal had seemingly been nearby and he arrived soon. Lifeblood let the two talk in peace after which he came to take care of the ragged nocturne. While Undreg recovered the two nocturnes shared their life stories Lifeblood telling how he had been called by one of clan’s guardians who had given him a second chance in life while Undreg told he had been part of a mercenary group whose base had been raided by a hostile mixed species group. Now he was unsure what he should do with his life and Lifeblood suggested him to follow his heart. He also suggested him to visit few dragons that could help him once the nocturne had healed enough.

Undreg eventually found his calling that being summoning and exorcism. Lifeblood and Undreg had ended up taking a liking to each other during the time Undreg had been in the healing offices and the younger nocturne came to visit Lifeblood every now and then. He told how his studies were going and how they eventually started to feel a bit monotonous. Malvadust happened to hear that and he suggested Undreg tried to solve Tilia’s case. Neither healer had been able to do so but maybe the summoner had better luck, if anything he should have a fresh perspective.

Undreg got farther than what Lifeblood had done and few nights later he came to talk about his finds with the two healers. His current hypothesis was that either a wasp sting or the medicine that had been used to treat the sting had caused the split and both healers agreed the medicine was the more likely cause. Lifeblood though thought the cause could have also been the combined effect of the two. Undreg asked Malvadust if he knew what had been used in the medicine but all he could say was that it was very experimental and that Merisara, Fauna’s late mother, had gotten different mixture. Lifeblood knew Malvadust didn’t like talking about his previous coworker and that became even clearer during the conversation. He refused to give the name or even gender of them, he just referred them as “it”. It was clear the two had not been in good terms and all Malvadust was able to tell was that he did not know what had been used in the medicine.

Malvadust left to continue his work and the two nocturnes had decided to continue their conversation. While they had been talking about the medicine Lifeblood had started to wonder where the other personalities had come. It was very random idea but he asked if the summoner thought the mixture had had souls used in it. Undreg wasn’t sure and asked if Lifeblood believed it was possible. He did not know either as healing with souls was unethical and could not be tested without serious ramifications. Undreg promised to ask what any of Tilia’s personalities thought about the possibility and the two nocturnes got back to their works.

The following evening Undreg had come to give a little update on his research. He had only asked Flora’s, one of the personalities, opinion thus far and she had given no as an answer. However, he had tested out one thing and that was how the change happened. After leaving the imperial alone he had hidden behind the door to see if that would prevent the change from happening. It did not which meant the thing that prevented the personality change was not dragon magic but a social interaction with a dragon. Lifeblood found that fascinating, and Undreg decided to go see if other personalities had given their takes on his initial question.

Undreg didn’t get far when Rose, one of Tilia’s personalities, came to meet the nocturne instead. The situation got awkward fast the imperial having seemingly been a bit offended by what Undreg had suggested, at least that was what Lifeblood guessed. Rose seemed sacred and demanded something from Undreg although no one understood what exactly. The mix of emotions with the vicinity of the nesting ground eventually caused three eggs to manifest and that did little to make Rose calm down. Fauna arrived to bring some herbs and Lifeblood explained the situation the best he could. The imperial gave the herbs to the healer and went to hold her aunt back as the only large enough dragon in the room. Undreg left as soon as he was let go and Fauna escorted Rose out leaving the three eggs there. After placing the herbs to the storage Lifeblood helped the hatchery staff Pilkku and Kaamos place them in a proper nest.

Because of the condition their mother had all three hatchlings were sent to the Observatory to be observed, like how Lifeblood had been, and Undreg went with them. He eventually came back with the middle hatchling Naru who, like the other two, didn’t seem to have other personalities. The young nocturne followed her father everywhere and Lifeblood got to know the enthusiastic if a little cocky girl quite well because of that. She didn’t have clear goal just yet but she loved learning and Lifeblood had a feeling she would become quite skilled with magic.

Later Lifeblood had been maintaining the healing offices while Malvadust was out eating dinner when Undreg dragged Finlande there. The skydancer was in weak condition and the summoner explained she had been prisoner of two spirits for few nights now. They placed the older dragon on the bed and took the clothes off after which Lifeblood checked how bad the situation was. The skydancer seemed to be both hungry and thirsty as well as dazed and Lifeblood gave her some sleep-inducing plants and water. Undreg was still in the room when Finlande fell asleep and Lifeblood was able to tell something bothered him.

Undreg checked if anyone was nearby before asking what was Lifeblood’s opinion on fate. That was a rather weird question to ask at that moment and Undreg explained what he had heard while getting the sleeping dragon back from the spirits. Apparently she was able to contact local fate with the sword of hers the weapon being the key between dimensions. Lifeblood had not expected that and he found it a bit difficult to believe, yet he couldn’t deny there was something odd in the sword the skydancer carried, mainly that she was never seen using it. Lifeblood was processing the information he was given, he tried to swung the sword to see if it did anything, it didn’t, yet he was able to tell it was not a combat sword. He turned to look at his unicorn wondering if Ealga had sent it or was the spirit just an old story. Not wanting to think about it he ultimately said it was none of their business. Undreg seemed to notice Lifeblood’s worry and he suggested the five could be fate’s servants. Lifeblood agreed that was possible.

Like Lifeblood Undreg ended up dropping Tilia's case though not before he had tried to change the personality by summoning. It had not worked but the summoner told he thought he felt someone having responded to that. Barely a night after that update the leaders decided to increase clan’s defense, and they warned about bounty hunters, before Finlande left the healing offices and though no reason was given Lifeblood feared it related to the skydancer’s power. Some time after that Undreg arrived to the healing offices as a patient himself. He and Naru had activated an old magic mirror and that had caused one of his eyes to change to primal one. Lifeblood checked his friend for anything weird but beyond the eye everything seemed fine. Even the eye itself wasn’t that badly injured, it had regular sight but Undreg said that eye seemed to see a bit more than usually possible. Both nocturnes assumed it had something to do with the eye type, and Malvadust seemed to be a bit nervous about that.

Naru had likewise experienced an eye mutation but unlike her father she seemed unbothered by it. She was excited about the mirror the two had activated and Lifeblood was able to see what it did. It was not clear what it was supposed to show but he saw some blue substance while Naru saw something Centaur-like and Undreg saw nothing out of ordinary. Malvadust was a bit nervous about Naru’s research but thus far it had not caused any harm. Only thing the two healers had to worry about was two injured mirrors and one rainbowbeast that had fought with a bounty hunter that had sneaked in.

Thing turned bad fast after the bounty hunter was sentenced. Finlande went missing during the day that followed and Puolanka’s research led him to the healing offices. According to his sources the skydancer had probably been drugged and the nocturne had come to check if the herbs had come from the healing offices. Malvadust was the one mainly dealing with herbs, as the herbalist, and he led the three to the storage where both healers noticed some of the stronger sleep herbs were missing. Neither healer knew where they had gone and Lifeblood noticed Malvadust give him untrusting glances. He was not sure why and that made him a little nervous which then made him nervous about looking suspicious. The investigator though didn’t make assumptions, yet.

The longer the case remained unsolved the more nervous Lifeblood got, not only because the older healer seemed to accuse him based on the past experience but also because of the power Finlande had. It had been almost two weeks since the skydancer had gone missing when the tension was finally broken. The clan had an important conference without a topic and both healers had joined to hear what the situation was. Unlike in normal conferences this time Karmiini started by asking attention of all five guardians, instead of only Ruoigu’s. As highly spiritual dragon Lifeblood got both curious and scared upon hearing that and both emotions grew stronger as Kupari told what the five wanted; exile of one dragon. That dragon was Naru and the reason was that she tried to contact the fate by using Finlande’s power.

Lifeblood listened the conversation ears sharp. Naru wanted to contact the fate, possibly even control it, and the five guardians deemed that so big of a threat they directly demanded actions from the clan. That meant Undreg had been right that the five were servants of the fate, that Lifeblood’s faith was not based on mere old legends. Naru didn’t seem to respect the clear and divine order to stop and instead of stopping and freeing the skydancer she, after having revealed the power to the entire clan, ran away and took the skydancer with her. Lifeblood was disappointed in her, and he was slightly disappointed in Undreg as well. He had known of what Naru had been up to but he had not spoken up until the judge had demanded answers. Lifeblood though could not be that angry to his friend, he probably had wanted his daughter to do the right thing eventually, which she had not.

Small pile of pink petals.

The clan life was peaceful following the trial of Naru, though its impact was felt long after the situation had ended. No matter where Lifeblood went someone was talking about it and the spiral sisters Aspen and June even organized a festival to the five spirits because the incident had inspired them so. Lifeblood felt a bit weird receiving gifts during the night that was dedicated to Ealga but what he heard everyone who had received gifts during the nights had felt weird. The life continued on peaceful after the festival and sometime after that Lifeblood and Undreg had four eggs waiting to hatch.

All four of the nocturnes’ children were males but they still needed a mother figure, and someone to take care of them, as both Lifeblood and Undreg were males and busy with their jobs. Luckily Dogoda, an elderly wind spiral who likewise had had eggs around the same time was willing to take that role and Lifeblood was very grateful for that. The two didn’t interact much but from the few interactions the two had had the spiral seemed very nice even though their interactions were often rather awkward. Reason for that was Lifeblood’s familiar who was always focused on the spiral, and she seemed to feel uneasy because of that.

All of Lifeblood and Undreg’s sons ended up moving to the Observatory after they grew old enough though Starfall returned quite fast. Something seemed to bother him and his dads asked what was the matter. He told he found it hard to be himself due to his strong mimicking instinct and Lifeblood told his son that breed change was always an option if his current breed didn’t feel fitting, he had changed his breed in the past as well after all. Undreg agreed with Lifeblood and Starfall thanked his dads for the support. He left after the conversation and later Lifeblood heard he had started to do some research in different breeds. The healer was happy that his son was taking time to evaluate his options before making decisions and wished him luck.

There had been total of four couples nesting when the nocturne boys had nested and about half of the nests were doing great after leaving the hatchery. The other half not so much. Hougen and Genba, Hattara’s sons and Lifeblood’s half-brothers, killed their brother and attempted to kidnap Richard which led to them being exiled. Meanwhile Dogoda’s son ended up being killed by a beast in the wood and during the day that followed the memorial ceremony Hougen and Genba attempted to re-enter the lair through starwood lair injuring the resident that lived in the old lair.

As a thank you for having taken care of his sons Lifeblood decided to treat Dogoda while Malvadust took care of the ever-grumpy Abele. The wind spiral was not that badly hurt but the life was not being nice for her as soon enough news about her second son’s death reached her. Sleight was seemingly encountered a woodwhisper, a weird alien lifeform, which had changed his appearance a bit and he was then been killed by a new spirit in the wood. Lifeblood told Dogoda that if she needed some support she could always turn to him but the spiral told she rather went through her emotions alone. Lifeblood respected the decision and left the spiral sleep all by herself.

Lifeblood and Malvadust were woken up around early afternoon when Lief rushed to their office. The gemologist was carrying some crystals which indicated that he had arrived in hurry, though Lifeblood didn’t make that connection until much later after waking up properly. The earth pearlcatcher said something about Sleight being brough back to life and Lifeblood’s familiar attacking him relentlessly at the sanctuary. Both healers were confused by what the pearlcatcher was saying and things didn’t get much clearer once they reached the site.

What Lief had said was true, the healers found Lifeblood’s unicorn attacking revived Sleight and Kupari tried to solve the situation. The priestess was as confused as the healers, and because Sleight was injured by the unicorn they decided to take the spiral to the healing offices and worry about necromancy later. Getting the spiral to the healing offices was challenging as he was blinded and clearly very confused and the unicorn’s attacks didn’t make it any easier. Lifeblood tried to make his companion to calm down but it refused to listen and even bit the dragon. Lifeblood was not sure what was going on but he was sure that the guardian spirit was angry.

The unicorn refused to cease its attacks and eventually Lifeblood suggested them to take Sleight out of lair in case the unicorn wanted him out. The healers took the spiral just out of the lair and that seemed to stop the attacks, though they started again when Sleight attempted to re-enter the lair. The spiral was confused and scared and acted hostile because of that. The healers had hard time treating him but luckily Dogoda was able to calm her son down. The healers helped the wind dragon to treat her wounded son as more and more residents arrived to see what had happened. They took Lifeblood’s unicorn’s anger as a sign that Ealga was angry and they demanded to know who had displeased the spirit. Lifeblood stayed out of the conversation.

The clan was not sure what exactly had happened or why though many seemed to blame Shadow and Sapny due to their past and potent magic, although no one was able to guess what their motives could have been. As to what the clan decided to do with Sleight, Lifeblood’s unicorn absolutely didn’t let the spiral in the lair and as such he was left to wander the surrounding wood, no one had heart to take him out of misery he seemed to be experiencing.

After what had happened Lifeblood felt weirded out by his unicorn. For a long time some residents Lifeblood included had believed the unicorn had been the envoy of Ealga and after the incident that felt more than proven. Lifeblood though was not sure how to feel about it; should he feel proud or should he be scared and should he not interact with Dogoda because the unicorn didn’t like her. He asked both Kupari and Undreg for help but they both said the same thing; he should make his own decision. He tries to ask the unicorn if it demanded anything from him but got no clear answer. It didn’t openly sign that he should be afraid or that he should not interact with Dogoda and eventually Lifeblood decided to continue his life like it had been before. Still, he felt it hard to feel relaxed when the unicorn kept staring at him, even when it just looked curious.

Traits

Lifeblood is an arcane nocturne with dark purple body with swirls and hint of blue it having glowing stars and dimmer lines forming constellation like patterns on his body while his wings and neck frill are black and like bee wings. His entire body is sparkling with bright pale blue stars. Originally a pearlcatcher with blue hued pearl, transparent belly with cyan liquid and common pink eyes Lifeblood’s eyes gained black sclera after his near-death experience during which his belly capsule was broken and the liquid poured out. Upon getting back up he changed his breed due to losing his pearl and because the body was too feminine. There are barely any hints of his previous breed excluding his fingers and toes that are more pearlcatcher like being thinner and more plentiful.

As magically oriented healer Lifeblood wears magical looking clothes to stand out from his herb using colleague. He has purple cloak with dimly flaming tips, ribbons of similar color decorating his wings, tail and horned headdress which has some magical blue grapes hanging from them. He has similar grapes hanging from under his wings and among then and hanging from his horns he has glowing pale blue plants. They and the shrooms growing on his shoulder are used to perform healing tricks. He has added some starwood twigs to his headdress and branches under his wings to hopefully help with connection with stars and arcane magic and have their glow and sparkles make him look even more magical. He has dark greenish blue sandals, vine like bracelet and tail decoration and pearl white amulet around his neck for the look.

Lifeblood has clean, polite and easy to understand voice with a little bit of feminine flair from the time he was still she. He is rarely heard using jargon and he isn’t that fond of using nicknames either but he isn’t against of using them. He has melodic Irish accent.

Small pile of pink petals.

Lifeblood is generally a kind dragon who is dedicated to his profession and the one who asked him to do it. He is somewhat proud of his position seeing himself as almost like a chosen one and is usually offended if someone dismisses his job or importance in the clan. Still, he isn’t a jerk and doesn’t really walk around telling everyone that he might have seen one of the guardian spirits. He keeps that inside as he does with most of his emotions be they negative or positive. If he lets his emotions out, it is a clear sign that he was pushed to his limits which is generally seen as very hard task. He generally ignores how he feels in order to focus on his job which both keeps the emotions from piling up and causes him to be confused with his feelings.

Lifeblood generally prefers solitude due to having poor social skills and putting his work above having friends. When needing to interact with others, which happens often due to his job, he is generally well-mannered but makes his best to avoid emotional attachments due to his poor skills with dealing with them. He generally prefers the interactions as neutral as possible fearing close connections might cause him to mimic the other to the point of it becoming problematic. Lifeblood is generally hard to offend even if his skin is rather thin. Even if someone manages to hurt Lifeblood to the point to make he speaks out he doesn’t shout but instead he is more likely to cry. His mimicking needs are minimal and when he ends up mimicking something it is usually very minimal like scratching one’s nose or ear or stretching wings.

Lifeblood isn’t really a familiar dragon but he is accompanied by a black dwarf unicorn he named after Ealga. The unicorn appeared next to Lifeblood when he was lying in the wood wounded and its exact origin is unknown. Lifeblood and many others though believe it came from Ealge itself being its envoy which is why they treat it with a lot of respect. The dwarf Ealga is generally passive little being barely ever heard making sounds or seen playing, it doesn’t seem to be able to talk but it is clear it understands what is being said and it understands situations despite feeling like being just a foal. It follows Lifeblood everywhere looking him with curious eyes but never interact with its chosen dragon. It though might answer with nondescript neigh when it is asked something. Rarely it might even help one way or another, but it needs to be asked first.

Small pile of pink petals.

Having studied in the Observatory Lifeblood knows wide variety of spell although he never bothered with advanced studies. He can levitate items like most arcane dragons he being able to lift items twice his weight. He can change sizes of items and he is skilled enough to both shrink and enlarger items at the same time by using the left hand to do the other and the right hand to do the other. He can write without holding the quill and he can remove ink from paper if needed. He can also create small pink light ball if needed.

Lifeblood’s studies focused on healing when he was in the Observatory and that is where his skills mainly lie. He knows the herbs, how to use them and where to find them. He can also make wraps pass through wing membrane and he knows how to make plaster. His main method of healing though is channeling magic into the wound and using form of time magic to speed up the healing. It is extremely tiring for how little it can do and it is mostly just used to make sure the wound is not lethal. For diseases he uses similar method filling the body with magic and killing the germs by giving them no room to keep thriving. Viruses are a bit trickier and with them he usually locks them in time not allowing them to keep growing and spreading. The methods are working with arcane dragons especially but they are also extremely tiring for the user which is why they are not used as insta-heal. Lifeblood would pass out if he tried that.
