WELCOME TO THE BORDER
Hi there! I deliver messages and parcels between clanmates, so I know my way around here. It's kinda dangerous, but if you really want to explore, I would be happy to give you a tour! Totally unrelated, but... do you have any valuables on you? Just wondering.Flight territories are always shifting, their boundaries loosely defined by the elemental magic that ebbs and flows across the land. One particularly contested location is the border of the Scarred Wasteland and the Tangled Wood. Here, the Contagion wanders, enveloping trees and swallowing rivers. Towering curls of bramble constrict around fleshy tendrils to hold them back, and acidic, bubbling ponds form from the wounds left by thorns. Invasive strains of mushrooms and algae crowd out the native flora, leeching the land of resources. To face the Plague is to face compounding threats; each living thing killed by sickness is a new biome for parasitic incursion. Dragons know this area as the Sourglade, home of the Forgotten.
The Forgotten clan themselves are reclusive, hiding underground and striking vulnerable locations before slinking back into the mists. They are opportunists, helping themselves to the bounty of the Tangled Wood's unsecured borders, poaching anything that moves and dragging it back to the barren Wasteland they call home. Shadow dragons dare not follow them, for fear of contracting any of the thousands of diseases that flourish in the blighted territory. Perhaps if the dragon's ambitions stayed small, they would have remained forgotten. But the Matriarch has her eyes set on conquest, and the natives of the shadows will not go down without a fight.
Of course, this is all to say nothing of the strange creatures that lurk along the border. Some say they always lived here, obscured by the mists. Others theorize that the chaotic clash of elemental magic has had a strange effect not just on the land, but on its inhabitants. Dragons who are not careful may find themselves suffering from undiscovered viral strains, or fall prey to the shadows themselves...
