Anyway, Alquist had a bit of a different story before the Beastclan retcon stuff (along with what felt like, at the time, half my dragons)... so he’s been a bit of floating in the ether for a while without much of a character or direction. So any lore ideas for this fellow, I’m all ears. You don’t have to be familiar with the source material because, despite reading it for over a year, I can tell you for sure I’m not. But I do know this about him: he’s sticking to his revolutionary roots. Unlike the character, who kind of gets caught up on the wrong side of history. He’s just a builder, an angel on the shoulder. Day 8 - Mistakes Nalbina was an impulse gene project who turned out to be a mistake, in that I just don't like her that much. She's kinda nice, but not worth-a-veilspun-scroll nice. She's part of a wider project of mine to have a set of blood siblings that represent each of the ancient breeds. As such, I feel compelled to keep her until/unless I get a different veilspun, and have regened her a couple times to try and like her better (compounding my mistake by throwing more money at it). I've pretty much settled on replacing her...but only when I get a sibling/scry who I really like, so she might be here a while yet. Hey what a great thread, I'm going to do my darndest to catch up by posting for Jan 1 and 2 before I go to sleep (which should have been 4hrs ago, RIP tomorrow) Jan 1 creations: This is a toss up between a subspecies and one who is suspected of creating, so I'm going to go the more mysterious route in the hope that subspecies can show up again in the next 363 days This is Regal, back in the day Primal eyes were a RNG miracle and not a 'pay to win' feature, or however you want to describe what they are these days. I still miss the tundra art but I'm not changing him back, (I had to use my clanbound changes somehow, and as a relatively new player, wasn't cashed up to afford gening so didn't want to lose the genes from any of my other dragons so my progens got hit!) He was a Skydancer, also. I dunno, I think he’s beautiful. I think I’ve been looking for a dragon to wear this skin since 2020. I’ve seen so many lovely dragons wearing it, but I wanted something different, you know? So here we are four years later. I think it turned out. One of these days, he’s gonna be a Level 25, because I’m pretty sure that’s what priests are in this world. Lore-wise, this one is obviously one of my newer ones, but I’ve had my priestess Aquarius (who I showed yesterday) for a very long time and I always wanted to get her a buddy. A protoge, if you will. I consider it a major part of my lore that time is ongoing, and as dragons get older or move on or retire, they will be replaced by another dragon. One of these days, Aquarius will move to my hibernal den full-time and Leviticus will be in charge. Maybe I’ll even do a whole lineage project with him like I did with Aquarius when the game was new. Also, lore-wise, I’m really not sure how the deities interact with the dragons that serve them. It doesn’t seem to me that “religion” is a word that really applies here in the way we’d use it on Earth, but maybe there’s a way it makes sense in Sornieth. All the same, the dragon deities are a part of the lore somehow, and the dragons that follow them stand on pedestals in order for us to… buy stuff. I assume. It’s a weird world. Especially when you try to get game mechanics involved. There’s definitely a better reason in lore, but that sounded much funnier, so that’s what I’m going with Show me a dragon that is involved in a Religion! Do they follow one of the eleven deities or some other god out there? Do they train dragons for exaltation or do they recruit them? Are they a god themselves seeking dragons to follow them or other gods to fight? Leviticus is one of my newer dragons, and my first guy with Harlequin! He was a Skydancer, also.

There’s definitely a better reason in lore, but that sounded much funnier, so that’s what I’m going with

Show me a dragon that is involved in a Religion! Do they follow one of the eleven deities or some other god out there? Do they train dragons for exaltation or do they recruit them? Are they a god themselves seeking dragons to follow them or other gods to fight?

Tomorrow we celebrate Ideas with Magdalena.

@Almedha it's insanely cool you incorporate time into your lair and lore! I'm not sure I would have ever come up with such a concept. I love the skin on Leviticus! His saturated warm colors with the soft pastel of the skin are surprisingly matchy. @Almedha he's gorgeous! I love that accent too, and it suits him to a tee, and much less spooky than it can be otherwise. His blurb on the right leads me to wonder if he's destined to be your Golem workshop mage? He's the perfect element and it fits his lore to be part of a fodder training team in GW! I guess I'll show my GW mage in return for Jan 11, although I had never thought of him as religious you might just influence his future (lore) who knows? I'm too tired to write much, I'll hunt down a Jan 4 dragon though as part of catching up with the thread! Oh wow Jan 4 is Ancient. I'm tempted to show off my only 5 digit but I'm going to go with someone far more ancient lorewise. As in 'before the Pillar broke ancient'. Like I said I'm far too tired to type so hopefully her WiP lore is legible enough to grasp where I'm heading with her, and you have to scroll down her bio a bit to reach it, but TLDR she's reanimated fossil/marble/riversand into the form of a banescale to re-emerge in this (relatively to her) modern world I lost grip on this multi-flight primal lore epic when eye vials became purchase-able but I'm getting interested in it again now that new Ancients are pushing the pain aside, I will probably replace some of the banes with their Flight ancients I guess - because lair/den space is a game mechanic OMG Jan 5 is birthdays and I started collecting 6 digit birthday dragons so it fits the ancient prompt too to include Australis in this post and catch me up quicker (I'll stop posting three dragons a day as soon as I can i promise) Also... Thylacine is one of the bestest terts, I absolutely love using it to tie a pri/sec together, or just to clash strikingly but fittingly. Its popped up a couple of times already in this thread so I'll be sure to include one of mine at some point too!
