Frootloop has four days before she's RTB (I forgot you could filter AH by RTB status until after I bought her, and she was too perfect to pass up). Hyped to kick this off in a few days!

Hatchlings are here! We got a two-egg nest, one male & one female:
The boy is surprisingly good. Hickory flaunt has purple accents to match indigo, and the olive gembond gives him a mossy look. If I hatched these colors for, e.g., a birthday g1, I'd probably keep. However, for purposes of this project, mossy/earthy vibe is not quite my thing. Hoping for something more vibrant.

The girl is going for a RGB gamer dragon look. Less aesthetic than her brother, but I think she's a more promising heir (I like red-range). She'll probably be the one to carry on the family line.
I realize I haven't talked at all about my ultimate goal for the project, but I don't have a clear goal besides "something I like." I tend to like vibrant, wide-range XYZs that are surprisingly matchy and/or work well with outfits. idk! I'll know it when I see it!
Short-term goals for the next generation: FIX THE TERT
(1) No gembond
(2) No swampy greens

...he is actually a fairly plain boy under all that green. The ideal gene outcome for next generation is flaunt/toxin/runes. I'd prefer to stick with accented prim/sec as a high risk, high reward strategy: more chance of being weird, but also more chance of being something unexpectedly neat that charms me.

Maojian! Not a keeper, obviously (or the challenge would be over), but he's unexpectedly nice with an outfit that leans into his mossy gembond.
