Welcome to what I hope will be a long-running share thread as I attempt to finish over 100 dragons in the next year-ish. To help with motivation, I’m going to show off all my dragons (and hopefully see a lot of yours). At the end of this year, I'll have 366 dragons - one for every day of the year - some of which I do not yet have. It’s gonna be fun. Here’s where the share part comes in - each dragon I share will come with a theme. I really liked the look of these dragons with green primaries and blue secondaries with Paint - they looked like meadows! She came to me as a Nocturne with Shimmer and Gembond (like [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dgen/preview/dragon?age=1&body=32&bodygene=1&breed=11&element=3&eyetype=0&gender=1&tert=45&tertgene=4&winggene=1&wings=22&auth=889556bf9f5773fd558175dd35f4c71929436993&dummyext=prev.png]this[/url]), making her also one of my first gene projects. I even made a [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/fl3/1720599/1#post_1720599]subspecies[/url] out of them… though I evidently don’t have the ability to stick with anything much more than a few months. That changes [i]this year[/i]. She was also one of my first lore dragons, taking care of the grounds of the land called the Estate of Escape. It was really her and Moor that brought everyone together. I knew I wanted a nomadic clan of monster hunters, but I wanted a home base. Genesis played a big part in making that possible. For me, the theme of Creations instantly puts me in mind of Jager. I had written a little lore here and there for other dragons and was having fun with it, but the inspiration was very hit or miss. (That's how it goes, with me and writing.) This boy, however, took the bit in his teeth and charged off down the page, with me yelling and typing frantically to keep up. I'm very fond of this rascal. His colors ended up being rather difficult to gene in a coherent way in the beginning - that Violet was kinda killing me with the odd gold accents. But, fortunately, Poison and Toxin arrived to help with the purple the next year, and the year after that came Skink and Spinner to work out the gold. I love the way he looks now. From the first word of lore, Wander has always been a bit of a fly-by-night. Devil-may-care. Immature and thoughtless and irresponsible in direct contrast with his mate, who I imagined as a protective figure constantly somewhat annoyed by Wander’s shenanigans, but who loves him anyway. As time went on, he fell out of use in my lore for my other dragons - the personality he always had just didn’t seem to go with the lore direction I eventually stuck with. Even though Wander’s become a background character, what seems like a guest character in the grand scheme of my lair, I spent a lot of time planning his genes and working to get him looking the way he does. As an aside, shout-out to @QuackemsGO for the outfit suggestion they gave me all the way back in 2017 - with the exception of mushrooms (which I didn’t include) and an accent (which I added in 2022, I think), this is the outfit they gave me. @Almedha Oh wow, ping much appreciated! I was wondering why your Spiral fellow looked so familiar and then I realized it was one of the first outfits I had in my saved outfits with Wander as the model! Such a cool Spiral with great colors!! My Custom progen is Windyll here, and I chose Soil and Seafoam for the colors. I thought she was cute! But Magenta was rolled as the tert, and back then Spines was the only possible answer. Jan 1 (Creations) & Jan 2 (Custom Progens) Showing off my custom progen Razanei for both of these! Razanei is an OC of mine from another petsite that has pet death. I decided that he got reincarnated here as a dragon. This was hugely influential on my lore. Many people have their progens as clan founders/leaders, but that didn't fit Razanei's style - he's just a party boy living it up in the big city. Nevertheless, I still view him as the "main character" of my lore. He's like a JRPG protagonist, doing quests and building faction rep, and if an apocalyptic threat arose, he and his party would be the ones to save the world. Design-wise, I didn't go for matching the original Razanei's colors; I just picked a nice blue and a nice green (my favorite colors). Then I went for gem genes because they looked cool. It took me a few months to save up (and trying not to be distracted by every single shiny thing on AH) but was totally worth it. In retrospect, denim/jade/lemon have a lot of untapped matching potential with treasure genes that I didn't consider at the time...but that's fine. He is who he is. I recently found him a close-range girlfriend, and if any of their kids turn out to be his exact colors, I'll make them into projects. I blame her entirely for my dislike of Jade - I felt like Azure and Rose looked great together, but that Jade just kept messing everything up. I think it’s also worth noting that the skin she’s wearing is the first skin I ever got on the site from my first festival ever. And she’s been wearing it since the day I got it. Eventually I scattered her, once, to this beautiful result. To my extreme happiness and absolutely no one’s surprise, the accent looks even better. Empyrea is the yin to [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/3304054/1#post_55873164]Wander[/url]’s yang, to corrupt a phrase. He is never serious, and she always is. She’s responsible to a fault, and he doesn’t know what that means. As a Guardian, her Charge is hatchlings - all hatchlings, which is how she met the two dragons I now consider the founders and actual “progens” of my lore, [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/7482931]Lightning[/url] and [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/7343533]Hydra[/url]. If she’s a mom, then she’s the tough mom. But, come on. She wears bones for armor. What do you expect? I still breed her and Wander almost every time they’re off cooldown (when they’re not chilling in the den like they are right now) - I kinda like the dragons that turn out, with eyes that always at least sorta match their secondaries. They aren’t big sellers, for obvious reasons, but that’s alright. Rolling the dice on their hatchlings is still one of my favorite things to do. Show me your [b]Random Progen[/b]! Chibundu is my random progen. She's teal/maroon/thistle, and I consider myself quite lucky with her colors (almost a shame to cover up with apparel/skin...but I really like the apparel/skin, so). She's got a platonic relationship with benefits with my custom progen. I like rolling the dice on their hatchlings; they're a wild bunch, but I've ended up keeping several of them. Until recently, I've been nesting them every other nest (alternating with my custom progen's g1 girlfriend), but over NotN, my custom progen got a second g1 girlfriend (he's kind of a player) so Chibundu is going on nesting hiatus for a while. She's chill about it. We're all very chill over here.
