They’ve adopted their singular goal in life, and deities help the dragon that tries to get between them and their goals. Singularly-ambitious characters make good stories, I think. And I like these two all the more because their story was developed with the help of a friend.
That’s always fun.
Estera’s story is that, once upon a time, she fell in love. Unfortunately, the Pearlcatcher she fell for was a conartist and a thief - and he ran off with her pearl, never to be seen again. The moment that Estera figured out what happened (which didn’t take very long), she set off after the Pearlcatcher that had stolen hers. She’ll get it back or die trying.
There are some intervening shenanigans, and the ending has changed due to the nature of the game being what it is. My friend no longer frequents the site. Not that this is strictly a problem. I could do whatever I want with their story… I’m just not sure what I want to do.
A major part of Estera’s story, despite her life having become a nightmare, is that she is plagued by them. After all, it’s very stressful having the single most important object in one’s life stolen. That’s what her skin represents. The fear that she’ll never succeed, and what will become of her if she does.
Show me a dragon having to do with [b]Nightmares[/b]! Maybe the dragon itself is a nightmare of some kind, causing them or participating in them. Maybe they just have them. Or maybe they fight them!

I don’t know if it was on purpose that I tossed a Light dragon right here in the middle of Shadow week. It’d be cool if it was. I guess we’ll have to find out tomorrow, won’t we?
This is Ruth, the eighth in her series of fandragons that I’m surprised is going as well as it is. Also, she gets a chicken. That’s an apparel item I thought for sure I’d never use. Environmental items like that just aren’t my thing apparently. Other people use them to great effect, but not me.
I actually got Ruth as a baby, in trade for another of my hatchlings: a “pretty for fodder” trade. She came to me [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dgen/preview/dragon?age=1&body=52&bodygene=24&breed=2&element=8&eyetype=2&gender=1&tert=138&tertgene=17&winggene=13&wings=143&auth=c0394fda523d8407408069c86f5db1e90fd0d69a&dummyext=prev.png]a Guardian with Opal[/url] and now… she’s a Tundra with Soap. So much for a free dragon, am I right?
Honestly, though, no regrets. I love Soap with Starmap and these nice browns are some of my favorite colors. But I knew one thing about my Ruth dragon: she had to be a f Tundra. Not just because I find f Tundras challenging to dress. Because I do. You might be able to tell just by looking at her. She’s not really smothered in apparel like the rest of my dragons, and one of those apparels is a chicken.
But I was really happy to find this dragon even though she had to go through a lot of my savings to put her where I wanted. But that’s the joy of dragons.
Show me a [b]Fodder[/b] dragon! Maybe they look the same today as they did when you bought them for 6kt or whatever - plus apparel or not. Or maybe they’ve gotten a whole overhaul, top to bottom, maybe even gem genes like Ruth did.

Octane is fodder! Lore-wise, she's a traveler passing through - a warrior following in the footsteps of her father. Gameplay-wise, she's the heir for my [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/qnc/3313074]Breed Out the Ugly Challenge[/url], and after that will likely be fodder for our next push. But she can still look fancy while she's here.
(Exaltation is non-canon in my lore. I have a lot of minor exalted characters that I don't need in my actual lair, but still canonically exist and add richness to the world.)
