A dark colored wildclaw cautiously enters the Grand Hall. It looks like he’s quite fascinated by this ceremony. He listens carefully to the speech of Ramses. While it looks like he has a lot of thoughts about the ordeal, he decides to keep those for himself. One thing is for sure - this competition for the crown… no - for glory - ought to show a dragon's true nature.

Just as he was thinking this, a brilliant colored and cheeky skydancer already questioned a guardian’s authority to own a crown, even though the opponent looked way more seasoned and experienced in combat.
He was wondering, was the skydancer already blinded by pride? Or was it just stupidity? After that he even announced he wants to gather allies and take the Emperor head on.

“Who in their right mind would follow such a fool?”

Day 1: Daylight Sanctum Grand Hall

Marsala clapped politely as the six dragons were summoned to the dais. She understood why she wasn’t selected, she’s basically a commoner so she'll just have to prove her worth!

She decides to take a trip to Mirrorlight Promenade. It's near the Sundial Terrace so with her new Compass, she shouldn't worry about getting lost.
She needs to have a good impression.

She heard it's a peaceful place and home to many dragons, young and old. She’ll take this opportunity to learn about the culture, teach some dragons to take flight, and maybe play a game of hide and seek with any hatchlings!

A Fae of very little words.
She didn’t know how the small Fae became the clan leader and how she continues to stay in that position. While there are only a couple of Guardians, she has seen a large group of Imperials who walk around like they own the place, and there’s that group of Obelisks who desire to move to Dragonhome.

Eis seems to be very hands off and just lets the clan members go whereever they like. But when Marsala thinks back to her time in the clan, she had nothing but fond memories. there was always food and familiars for company. She knows the leader works hard to earn currency for the clan.

Many dragons had left and never came back, but many have returned and have become good friends with one another.

When she approached Eis and told her she had to leave the clan, to find her charge, the Fae just stared at her before nodding her head in agreement.

She’s grateful when Eis suggested she takes Lily with her. She even messaged the Fae recently and asked for advice on how to be a leader. She had received a reply saying to 'just do the fair thing and be kind.'

She knows that's not as easy as it sounds, but she'll do her best.

The First Task

The Imperial stops to listen, watching the display. Such formalities... Useless, in his mind. Those would be better suited for when an heir is known, not guessed upon. How would it look to make such a display, only for all the dragons bearing the title of heir now to lose it on the first day? He sees it as somewhat silly, in his opinion, but he can at least admire the performance. Calling this challenge, and the results, a ruling of fate, however...

He shakes his head, standing as he eyes the current heirs. Some are already facing challenges of their own. Some he can see as a wise decision to challenge now. Others, he isn't sure. Challenge an heir now if they wish, then decide where they should go to earn the favor of the drakes in the territory of the Lightweaver. "Remember, those who lose their crowns will want them back. It is best for those we feel we cannot face to keep their crowns, and those we can to lose them now. Fate won't always smile on those who cannot make do for themselves."

With that, he approaches the pale green and gold skydancer, his sons moving to the side to watch. Not before motioning towards one of the exits with his tail to signal where they would go first. Zerah and his sons have not yet stated where they will go after this challenge, nor whether they'd like to forge allegiances with the other competitors...

Tell us about your clan's leader. If your clan does not have a leader, talk about who would be most fitting to lead your clan and why!

A slowed blink, as a softened smile crossed agross her visage. "Aeonian and her partner, Guardian, are our leaders; whilst they lack the experience, their desire to learn, to do better for others is what holds them in high regard. Aeonian especially, given that she was born to the living deities of ice and water. He admired the decor as Ramses showed him to his seat at the central table, but as he settled down he made sure to check out his competition. After listening to Ramses' introduction, he was deeply disappointed (and offended) not to be one of the six called forward to receive a crown. What 'outstanding potential' did they have that he was lacking? His frills pulled down into a sneer of disgust, no matter how hard he tried to hide his feelings. One of his Seekers hopped from the back of his chair to his shoulder and offered a supportive croak and a squeeze of his claws, and that reassurance allowed Odin to collect himself. They may have been named heirs to begin with, but that wouldn't be the case for long. One of those crowns was his, and he would compete for it until he had one! 'Where do you think we should go, my eyes?' he asked his Seekers in a murmur when the group was released from the table and began to disperse. They hadn't had time to scope out the other dragons in the competition yet, but his familiars knew Sornieth well and he could take their counsel on this. 'So, the Mirrorlight Promenade or the Hewn City,' Odin said, keeping his voice low enough not to be overheard and watching his familiars' reactions. Their bright eyes met with his at the mention of the first location, but the pair looked away at the mention of Light's ruined metropolis: a sure sign. Odin nodded. 'Very well. To the Promenade. So, unlike the Guardians, preparing to fight with their claws, this one wishes to fight with her wit. He settles himself before the smaller Skydancer, dipping his head. "You're wiser than some of the others here, it seems." His sons take a moment to watch, their ears turned towards Silva as they wait for their father's answer. Was he right, or is there a better answer than what he'll come up with? It takes him a few moments longer to find the right words. "A difficult problem, to be certain. Hoard the prosperity, and the lower echelons suffer for it, as well as another kingdom that may someday rise in resentment of your decision. Be too generous, and you'll be unprepared for when the prosperity passes, leaving you vulnerable in the difficult times that will likely follow." He nods his head as he smiles to the Skydancer. "So, the best decision, with the information provided, is to use this fleeting prosperity wisely. Don't become complacent, or worse dependent, on the wealth and abundance from this disaster, but use what you can to be ready for what may follow. Aid the lower echelons so they won't revolt, keep what standards you held before this bubble of prosperity for the rest, and use what you must to aid the refugees so their kingdom won't hold animosity towards you when their time of need passes. The rest can be stowed away for when the next disaster strikes, and fortune isn't as favorable as she was this time." His sons mull over their father's response as he tilts his head. It's hard to read Skydancers sometimes, though he's done his best to be just as difficult. He had underestimated her with his approach, though this iss certainly more entertaining than just exchanging blows with drakes. If he'd wanted that, he'd have stayed at home and asked for a rematch with Khashada. Well, if he didn't mind the risk of somehow creating another battle-born creature in the process. Whether he'd passed her test or not, a part of him actually hopes he'll find her going where he planned to flee to. Perhaps she'd even seen his signal he'd given to his sons earlier. "Keeping the standard of living the same, and making sure aid is given to the lower echelons to bring them back to that standard, would allow for resources to be stocked, right? Without too much fuss, that is." Zerah turns his lead to nod to his firstborn, Eos. That one had a mind for the people. It was something that gave Zerah a touch of pride. Eos was a natural at handling those who'd look up to him. "And aiding the other kingdom might even determine whether they'd survive or not. It'd give leverage to allegiances if needed, and provide an ally if you can't support yourself during a future disaster. Natural or not." Zerah nodded his head again. His second born, a twin to Eos, had a more strategic mind. He may not appear as approachable, but he certainly knew how to handle any future conflicts. Hesperus would make a great ruler himself, if only from the shadows. A tactician, at least. "So, Silva, correct? What about you? What would you do in such a situation? Plentiful resources, a hoard of wealth, yet suffering lower classes and refugees from a neighboring kingdom, all in the wake of a tragic natural disaster... Surely you have your own idea on what must be done." He could only hope he didn't sound too condescending. Apparently being judged for your own kin your entire life can lead you to sound just as judgemental, whether it was meant or not. Seeing the skydancer now for what she was, he knew she'd make a better ally than an enemy. He plans to have them close at hand, after all, if he were to succeed in his endeavor here. He also hopes they catch onto the fact that they should never judge a drake by their appearance. Especially since he'd done just that, and discovered Silva to be more formidable than anticipated. It also appears that Zerah is hoping to encounter Silva again, if only because she's provided such an excellent opportunity to learn to his own kin. He likely isn't aware that encounter will be sooner than he thought... in The Hewn City. (and yes, I submitted my form to go there before your reply, so my mind just went "She totally saw him motion for the route to the Hewn City and went 'Oh what a coincidence.
