They have the same father, but different mothers, which happen to be sisters.
Horus's mother is named Isis.

Escorts them to the Hall of Two Truths, where they would have their heart weighed against a feather.
The Feather represents Ma'at; the Goddess of Balance and Order.
- Osiris; Anubis's Father, was killed by his own brother Set and dismembered, in which Osiris organs were said to be scathered across all of Egypt.
They were retrieved and brought back to Anubis.
Anubis then invented mummification, in order to preserve his fathers body.
Out of respect, Anubis passed down his position/role in the Underworld of being the Judge of the Hall of Two Truths, after Osiris had passed into the Underworld.
The process was overseen by Anubis and the ceremony was performed infront of Osiris and the Judges of the Underworld.
The Demon named Amit waited by Anubis's side; if the heart weighed heavier than the feather, then they would not be granted passage to the afterlife.
The souls would be given a last chance to convice Osiris and his judges that they lived a fair and balanced life.
If they failed to do this, they would be devoured by Amit and cursed to suffer a second death, while the lighter ones would ascent to a heavently existence.

Goddess of purification and cool in water.
Described as the serpent that purified the pharaoh.
While the souls of the dead waited for the mummification process, Kebechet provided them with water to purify their souls.
