You walk the abandoned garden in the Starwood Strand, marveling at the crumbled ruins about you. The Guardian at the gate may have called it a garden, but it honestly looks like the rubble of a long lost city, if not something even bigger. Archways and steps break off where grand structures once stood, now lucky to even have all four walls intact. However, as you walk, one structure seems to stand out among the marble busts and figures strewn about. This one building seems to have it's walls intact, as well as it's ceiling! Trees have taken over the landscape around it, soaring high above the roof of this place, causing you to fall silent. It even has it's old wooden doors! Perhaps the runes etched into the frame protected it from wear and tear, but the fact that they seem large enough to allow entry for two Imperials at once adds to the impossibility of it all. The trees must rival the Behemoth, at least, to stand so tall, and this building, dwarfed in comparison, seemed to rival it even after all these years.
As you prepare to enter, a voice speaks up from one of the statues.
"You must have wandered far to wind up here, little one."
A massive Imperial seems to almost materialize from one of the pedestals. Was he a statue from before? No, his colors had just been hidden by the foliage sprouting from his hide. He walks to one of the double doors, nudging it open with a paw as he looks back at you.
"Why not come inside and rest? These old walls haven't seen company in quite some time, and I'm certain the old books wouldn't mind if someone took a peek at their pages. Must be boring, having only me to read what's within after... oh, how long has it been again?"
Well, the old drake may be some sort of record keeper? Either way, your feet are killing you after all this walking, and books this old surely must hold quite a bit of interesting information. Perhaps it's priceless, old knowledge lost to time! Or maybe it's just a really old farmer's almanac? Can't hurt to rest a bit and read a book or two, right?
