@gn0me @Jeevas (LOL at the image, I think it’s JoJo? Amazing.)

Despite their inexperience in battling, Marsala along with Incarnate and Murasaki were able to work together to help the other stronger dragons knock down the Light Emperor.

Thankfully the Wind one had already fell, making the rest of the fight easier. The Fire Head was persistent but with enough force, the Emperor finally collapsed.

Marsala had given out all her Health Potions, but it was worth it seeing no one was terribly injured. She smiled at her companions, those around that fought for everyone’s safety. Many must have been terrified so she’s grateful for their bravery. Any one of them would have her support should they be crowned.

She had lost her crown at some point, a quick scan shows it does not seem to be around. Marsala doesn’t mind being crown-less for the time being, though she hopes she'll find out where it is. Lest she gets in trouble for losing such an object.

She won hers the day the Emperor attacked and lost it the day they defeated them.
Perhaps that’s a sign.
More importantly, she saw Lily running towards her, carrying a Fae hatchling by the scruff. “Oh thank goodness, you’re both okay!” With the Emperor down, injured and trapped dragons started calling for help. Other hatchlings popped up from their hiding spots. Marsala went around, scooping up any dragons, young and old, that she can carry. Those hurt were soon healed by mages.

She had prepared to make a long trek back to where the worried civilians were gathered, when instead they arrived here.

She’s just been searching for so long.

She doesn’t know what to do.

Marsala’s having a little internal conflict, might think she’s cursed.
No biggie.

Got free time, so I’ll be catching up on my reading!
So many wonderful dragons here!

Day 6 - Daily Questions: Friday
Do you think leaders are born or made?

She’s glad to see General Napoleon again!

“Made.” Marsala answers. “There are natural leaders and those who have been raised from birth to lead. However, anyone can be a leader so long as they have the desire to do so. They have to put in a lot of work and listen to those around them.

You have to learn how to lead. Learn to respect the opinions of others, have integrity, wisdom, compassion and charisma.”

Upon finishing their counterattack, Anubis noticed an Aberration wearing a crown within their reach. Anubis sighed at the sight but continued to stay in place.

Anubis and the other crown bearers were soon approached by a Fae wearing a heirs crown. Anubis caught the Faes movement and moved to speak with them. 'You must be missing, if I am not mistaken.', Anubis started. 'It was an exceptional battle. Your Rally and Regeneration made a great difference to the already exhausted fighters. Day Five: Exhuastion dragged at Odin as he poured much of his remaining strength into his latest attack - and was relieved to see that the joint Disorient, combined with the others' attacks, was successful! Or perhaps it was simply luck, because in the same moment, the Emperor's Wind head flopped to the side and dragged the body down with it. Either way: the Fire head turned upon its fellows, hissing with rage, and the fighters had a moment to breathe. Odin's frills twitched as he caught a sound coming from behind him. He whirled around, wary of attack -- and saw a batallion of reinforcements emerging from the smoke that shrouded the battlefield. 'Thank the stars,' Odin sighed as ranks of ally dragons surged forwards. They filled the gaps between the tired and injured warriors already on the field, and in doing so lifted their spirits. With Luminax distracted, now was their chance. Odin roared in unison with the rest as they descended upon the Emperor for one final push, dredging his reserves for every scrap of Breath and throwing all of it into whirling Wind attacks. His bolts slashed at the Fire head's eyes and ears, and diverted the gouts of flame that spewed from its mouth away from the other warriors. He was flagging, his magic truly depleted, but he pushed himself onwards until -- at last -- the great Emperor fell. Odin pushed forwards through the crowds of warriors to hear what the Light leaders had to say, and was shocked to hear the Wildclaw General advocating mercy. 'No,' he hissed, glaring at the still form of the Emperor. Its rotten corpse looked dead enough, but it would rise again, he was sure of it. However, before he could raise his voice to object, there was a commotion as the rest of the crown contestants returned along with some of the evacuees - and the moment was lost when Odin was grabbed by a frantic parent searching for a missing hatchling. They were desperate for news of ther offsping. He looked up, searching the skies, and spotted Huginn and Muninn circling some way off. He pointed the parent towards them, guessing that they were still watching over the youngsters he had seen earlier, and hoping it would lead to a reunion. He looked around for th Wildclaw General, hoping again to make some sort of protest about leaving Luminax to potentially rise again, but once again was thwarted as an Imperial was pushed forward. His explanation sent Odin into a towering rage. How could this dragon have been so foolish? He was so angry he almost didn't hear the General's decree. Almost. So, the successor would choose the Imperial's fate -- and the competition was not quite over yet, one way or another. Odin smiled grimly to himself. He might win a crown yet. And if not, maybe there was a way to come out of this with some kind of reward? All he needed was a crown to return. He glanced around. He couldn't in conscience try to take the crown from the Fae he had allied with and fought beside in battle. In fact, it seemed wrong to attempt to take from any of those battle-worn crown-bearers who had stood against the Emperor. However ... a couple of crowned dragons had arrived with the evacuees. Perhaps they were no less brave and noble, but to Odin, their crowns were fair game. ----- He was shocked to find, as he filed towards Lanternlea Port, that the General was offering personal thanks to those who fought the Emperor. Odin considered bringing up his thoughts on defeating Luminax once and for all -- but getting into a very public argument over a well-respected General's decision seemed like it could work against him in the vote, so he said nothing. They shook claws, and then the Wildclaw asked the Daily Question: Do you think leaders are born or made? 'Leaders are made, without a doubt,' Odin answered immediately. 'It is not an accident of birth and genetics, or even a decree of Fate that makes someone capable and worthy of leading others -- but rather their actions, and the lessons they have learned from their life. Anyone can learn to be a good leader, anyone. Even if they have come from nothing.' He trailed off thoughtfully, and paised with his frills waving before he added: 'I think I myself am some proof of that.' ----- [s]Odin is nothing if not arrogant, haha.[/s] I wish I had time to work in some of the other lore pieces from today - I wanted to at least have him introduce himself to missing @shoydragon!! - but it's pretty late here and I wrote it in such a way that they kind of got separated, so I'll have to leave it at this. Day Five:
534875_350.png

Exhuastion dragged at Odin as he poured much of his remaining strength into his latest attack - and was relieved to see that the joint Disorient, combined with the others' attacks, was successful!

He was shocked to find, as he filed towards Lanternlea Port, that the General was offering personal thanks to those who fought the Emperor.

Even if they have come from nothing.' He trailed off thoughtfully, and paised with his frills waving before he added: 'I think I myself am some proof of that.'

Odin is nothing if not arrogant, haha. I wish I had time to work in some of the other lore pieces from today - I wanted to at least have him introduce himself to missing @shoydragon!! - but it's pretty late here and I wrote it in such a way that they kind of got separated, so I'll have to leave it at this. I can't think any more, haha! Hopefully there'll be time for more tomorrow.

@Askurasaki Yeah, it's definitely okay that you borrowed them, I'm delighted you did! :) I hope you don't mind that I took inspiration from your post about the parent maybe not immediately finding their child in 'our' version of the story - and pointed them in what Odin assumes is Zicatela's direction. :)

With the great Beast fallen unconscious, Incarnate was pleased to see the attacks abate. The Emperor too was one of Light's children, indeed their masterpiece - if truth be told the initial form of Lightweaver's creation (Imperial) could be likened to a caterpillar, its death the pupating stage, and the reawakening as an Emperor, the butterfly stage.

It wasn't the Emperor's fault it had been interrupted from its slumber and who doesn't wake up grumpy when their beauty sleep is interrupted after all?!

From her position high in the air above the battlefield she could not hear any of the announcements but with the adrenaline abating from her veins her calmness shifted into sadness as she saw the bickering over the crowns return once more.
She looked at the fallen Emperor, she looked at the bickering dragons - moments ago they had all worked together as one, now they seemed once again hellbent on destroying the reality they had just been creating together.
They were the same, this Emperor and the whole of dragonkind. Both children in the eyes of the gods, and if the gods could not fix their bickering what chance did these mortals have?!?

This crown competition was a mockery, not one of these dragons was fit to rule, and any kingdom that found themselves in the unfortunate situation of having any of them as leader would be bound to witness what we were witnessing now only on a grander scale.
She had never made a grab for a crown, truly if she had any compulsion to it would only be to destroy each one by one - but these dragons were young, they were here to be tested, she would just be delaying their lesson.
...Although, shaking herself out of her reverie, there was that one fae who really took control on the battlefield and coordinated the others - that was an impressive show of fortitude under duress, maybe, just maybe, there was a chance in this lifetime - she shouldn't give up hope, this was just the post-adrenaline dive grabbing ahold of her, these mortal forms could be so challenging with their hormone rushes!

To clear herself, she flew as high as she could, as close to the Sun, the Source of all Truth, as the atmosphere would hold her and meditated there until the last of the adrenaline had faded and purity of mind had returned.

The day had grown old.

From her vantage point, the glistening surface of the eastern sea beckoned, and nearby a port. Next on the list? Go wash her pearl and its mortal form in that sea of electrolytes, and then replenish her mortal form's energy requirements.
She had seen enough here, and unaware the event had been cancelled and she was unintentionally headed for a rendezvous with those she thought she was departing from, she relaxed into a glide towards the cliff edge in the distance, anticipating the purifying immersion below it.
