I have a lot of breeding pairs, but not many couples with any kind of lore or story to them. One I do have is these two:

Islwyn is one of the granddaughters of Ignis, dragon #666 herself, and I decided that it would be fun to try to breed a bunch of pastel/pink G4 Ignis dragons. So I spent a few days searching until I found this guy:

Phanuel here was the right colors, and so he became the angel who balances out Islwyn's more devilish tendencies. So I leaned into it, dressing them appropriately to match their themes. I like to think that they like each other in an "opposites attract" sort of way, where they're each very aware of how different they are from each other, but they're happier together than they would be with someone else.
So they still nest every 30 days, though experience tells me that their XYZ G4 Ignis babies aren't really in as high demand as I'd hoped, haha.

Honestly, theres no one way about it. Ive got poly groups of ocs that range from three to one thats p much a group of 11 people in various interconnected ways, it all depends on how you as a writer like to approach your ocs/writing and their relationships with partners/friends/acquaintances whatever.
Personally, not to get woo-woo on main, but I do a lot of one on one work with my ocs and sort of treat them as if Im talking to a real person and in the end sometimes they "answer" in a way on what works best for them. Its sort of just letting someone tell you on their own times what they like and dont like and how they react and dont react.
Now that doesnt work for everyone, some people like to just jump full in both feet and even beyond that some people like building what type of relationship they want the characters to have and then build the characters to fit that role like a job interview and that works as well xD
