"Have you ever thought about what can truly be out there? What things are just beyond our comprehension and line of sight?" Alec asked, bent nearly double over the telescope. He would have to be careful when he grew older if he continued standing like that. He adjusted the dials on the contraption, bringing the image of the sky more in focus. He let out a sound of joy under his breath as he called you over to see as well. "Look at it, isn't it beautiful?" He said. The single nebula cluster, green in color and soft looking like fresh flower petals filled your vision. "That," Alec said, "is life or rather, it could be life as we know it." The dragon continued as you peered into the heavens, light reflected back at you from thousands upon millions of years ago to be captured in a moment in that eyepiece on the telescope. "That is where we all come from, all of this, every star and every planet, and it is where we shall return perhaps. If you believe certain theories of the universe, dust to dust and all that." "What of life in the universe other than ourselves?" He looked at you after you posed the question, a glint in his eye and an almost knowing smile on his face. "Perhaps it is ego to think we are alone. But all I know for certain is that I know nothing at all." |
Alec had been obsessed with the stars ever since he was a hatchling. Born under a wandering comet, it was perhaps fate that he would grow up to study the night sky and all its wonders. He eventually ended up teaching, hoping to pass on his passion. However, for all his brilliance and enthusiasm about space, that was unfortunately what got him noticed. He was given the task of investigating the strange an unusual, even though he originally thought it foolish. However, with enough questions unanswered, he found his opinions changing. |

Gigi Gigi is the love of Alec's life. He has no shortage of romantic and loving things to say about her. They met in college and while she worked there as a librarian, she showed just as much interests in the sciences as he did and he was hooked. Now they work together, listening to people's reports and arranging interviews. She also does research while he travels and vice versa. |

Quinn Quinn was the Flight Corps partner that he was assigned when he first took the job exploring the possibility of answers for the unexplainable phenomena. At first, the two didn't really trust each other all that much as their methodology was vastly different. However, after some harrowing experiences, they trust each other with their lives, maybe their love too. |

Chris Chris is Alec's best friend and has been his best friend since college. The two were always getting up to trouble in their youth and they both have the burn scars, scrapes and bumps to prove it. Now, while they both live a few hundred miles away from each other, they meet up every so often to spend the weekend building rockets and star gaze together over a drink of choice. |

Jillian Another close friend from the the college days, Jillian came into the engineering program with a bang and instantly stole Chris' heart. Alec and Jillian have a lot of shared interests and work well together. Unfortunately, Jillian was called away on a secret project and the group of four became a group of three, that all feel like there's still a missing piece. |

Lubbock No ones really sure who this guy actually is. He is strange with odd inflections in his speech and smells vaguely of ozone. Alec was told that he was going to be working with this man from time to time, however he's not exactly sure that this man is completely who he says he is let alone form this galaxy. It makes Alec uncomfortable how much pepper this man consumes. |
