Description:
The loving husband of Herkimer and father of Howell, Pirouline works in Florabrisa's kitchen, honing his craft of baking intricate cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats. His intimidating, scarred appearance is offset by his relaxed and joyful nature. He loves bringing smiles to others, and takes his work very seriously.

Background:
Pirouline was a young drifter in Dragonhome when he met Herkimer, a hunky seasonal logger. The two quickly fell in love and married each other, and soon after adopted Howell, an orphaned tundra hatchling who they loved as much as each other. They wanted nothing more than to have a stable home for their new daughter, but they struggled to find steady work that paid enough, so Pirouline enlisted himself as a soldier for the Earthshaker's Army, thinking there weren't any better alternatives to supporting his family given his general lack of skills. It seemed like a good deal - it paid very well, and though Herkimer raised Howell alone for some periods of time, Pirouline still got to see his family intermittently.

Pirouline didn't expect to be involved in the army for more than a few years, but he proved to be as strong and hardy a soldier as they come, absolutely thriving in combat. He earned a reputation for his fearsomeness, a large Banescale who could intimidate even the biggest and bravest of Guardians. He loved being a part of the army for long while. Even though he missed Herkimer and Howell, he felt this was still the best way to support them living a comfortable life.

He also missed sweets quite a bit. With the army, their living situations changed often, and they ate questionable rations or wild game more often than not. He didn't mind it too much, but one time when they were stationed in a small town, he found a dessert book and wanted to try out some recipes. He was able to procure the right ingredients and with a working oven, he baked some treats for himself and some of his fellow soldiers. And it felt great, for reasons very different to his work as a soldier. He always received lots of praise from higher ups for his strength and scariness, but now with just some simple (and not especially well-made) cookies he single-handedly made a whole room of dragons light-up in joy. It was a positive impact he hadn't felt himself make anywhere in a very long time, and he felt great about it. He took whatever few opportunities he could to bake more for his fellow soldiers, and he fairly quickly realized this was where he felt his calling was. He didn't want to be intimidating and ruthless, and for what, territorial disputes? Surely being a baker would be a better use of his time on Sornieth, bringing happiness and delight to others through food. He deserted the army and never looked back.

Reunited with his family for good, Pirouline took his new direction in life seriously, and continued working on his baking so he could be a truly good dessert chef. He enjoyed working with increasingly intricate recipes. Of course, the Earthshaker's Army was not pleased about Pirouline's desertion. While Pirouline wasn't necessarily in danger, he wasn't sure he could have a comfortable future in Earth. Herkimer's childhood best friend Chappaqua had recently relocated to wind and suggested the family to join her in Florabrisa and they gladly accepted the offer.

In Florabrisa, Pirouline quickly went to work under Moraine with the kitchen staff, doing his best to make impressive desserts for the clan.

Favorites:
Pirouline loves working with sweets, making others happy through food. He's fond of making complex (and tasty!) dessert arrangements to show off to others. He is good at quickly taking orders, working fast and precise.

In his off time, Pirouline's very easygoing and can often be found relaxing in the sun, though he never has trouble getting up at a moment's notice if he's needed elsewhere. He enjoys bonding with his daughter by helping her find quality gemstones and making unique arrangements with them.

Appearance:
Pirouline is a fairly tall middle-aged Banescale with considerable bulk, still fairly muscular under his large belly. He has quite a few scars around his body and face, most notably ones across his left eye, over his nostrils, and across his lip. He has a soft round face, and big hook-like horns.

He likes to wear dark colored armor-like clothing covered in spikes, and almost always has his spiked collar on. He can come across as fairly intimidating when first meeting him, but he has a very sweet smile that helps his good nature shine through.
