Glacynea and Clarity weren't busy this morning, so they decided to follow Fireclaw an cheer him on during his last the events. There truly is nothing better than having your friends by your side, so Fireclaw felt confident that even if he were to perform poorly due to the fact that he clearly had overworked himself this week, he wouldn't mind to lose, 'cause his friends would always focus on his achievements rather than his failures. It was time for Fireclaw to compete in the Slalom event, a fast descent through the slope awaited him and he would try his very best to not miss a single gate. Once finished, he took a short break to re-energize himself and chit-chat with his friends before tackling the very last event, one of his favourites, and also the second one in which he was crowned the 1st place winner last year, Ski Jumping!

Although Zodonyarith still thought WindSky’s Bar was better, he had to admit this pub they’d found, a bit off the beaten track, had a lot to offer. He’d especially enjoyed a hot drink oddly called “glue vine”: red and spicy, a little fruity, with a pleasant kick. Apparently the others did too, as the volume in the room had been steadily climbing, with increasingly raucous laughter. Tutroith was uncharacteristically arguing with Glacierth over whose speed was more impressive. Ephemerath and Cloudsofth were holding hands. Bolesonth was snatching head gear from anyone wearing any and trying it on his own head, and …. HEY THAT’S MY HAT!! WHY IS BLACKDEATH WEARING MY HAT??! Before he could follow up on that question, there was a commotion as a handful of dragons suddenly started grabbing their gear. “What now?” “Curling!” was the slightly slurred reply, “We didn’t do Curling! We need to do Curling! We. Are. Going. to do Curling!” Dony looked at the smaller dragons in astonishment. None of them had ever practiced it! They didn’t know a thing about the sport! Not to mention every single one was squiffy from the alcohol they’d consumed… His own logic centers were also slightly frizzled so he knew he’d never talk them out of it. So, “Whose brilliant idea is this?” he asked. They pointed to the Spiral who had tended goal during the hockey match. Chillfroth grinned at him maniacally, “I’m an expert at curling!” That was going to be an interesting game. If he missed each strategic moment to inhale, just after landing a leap or in the middle of a spin, he might pass out from exertion. Flying across the rink without flapping a wing. Spinning on one talon for a full 15 seconds. Doing a graceful flip backwards, hoping that his tail doesn't drop against the ice at the wrong second and throw him off even a centimeter. These were all things he had to worry about while in the middle of the action. His head was buzzing and his chest was heaving, but everything was so quiet as well. He almost felt he wasn't even there. Maybe he wasn't even moving. Maybe the spirit of the Icewarden had possessed his feet to move on their own, to glide like this across the ice while he watched, worrying without really being present. The music slowed and he settled in his last position; reaching towards the sky with one arm lightly gripping the other with his wings draped backwards and his tail in a gentle s shape behind him. Silence. He could hear nothing but his own heart hammering away. He was suddenly back to reality again as he saw the judges move to begin whispering among themselves. Oh, why did he do this, why did Atka convince him to-- Oh. There she was, in the audience, a light smile of approval on her face. That was a rare gesture for her.
