Day 5

She had trained till the dead of Night on her skating skills, on the way she had to hold her body, how to balance on the skates when she needed to turn, how to move her legs for optimizing all these together. It was hard, even harder with claws like her and without mechanical help.

The race was about to start, the suit was perfect, the skates tight and she could use her selfmade speedometer for testing, it was build in suit without a display, so were the rules for that agreement.
Pulling down her glasses, walking to the start line and greet her rivals with a quick node, she was ready to be wild, fast and quick on her feet like a wolf on the hunt.

The signal was given, Cessi speeded away, but some other dragons were faster than her, she had to build up more speed!
The first turn came, she might have a chance, going into it with a much tighter bend, trying to get past maybe one or two while forcing her legs and arms top go overdirve, she managed to get a bit more ahead when the racetrack became straight again.
Oh boi, thats harder than finding a lost screw in my workshop!
The race was not over, she still had chances and she is headon on taking them.

Ice Hockey

Aiden wasn't sure how he had gotten himself roped into a game of ice hockey. She was a somewhat burly dragon. Four crests hung suspended from her neck and her skin was peppered with. . . complicated growths. Yes, best to just think of those as skin growths. She wrote with her muscular arm braced against the table. One of her regular arms. The receptionist was trying not to look at the uh, less regular arm. In short order, the dragon pushed the completed form back. The receptionist skimmed it. Something about it made her pause. "Um, ma'am? You are aware ice hockey is a team sport? There's only one name here." Ainikki flexed her rotclaw. Sinew bulged and thick talons curled like scorpion's tails. Then she smiled, like a wolf. "Don't worry about it."

He had nearly forgotten his love for competition. He didn't just enjoy winning, like Sunburst might; he just liked pitting his skills against those of his peers. There was still some time left before he was scheduled to go. Lucas checked the leaderboards and noted the top score. The time to aim for. Already on his skis and ready, he slid up to the starting line and closed his eyes, "seeing" the course with his aura sight and planning his route. The glare off the snow made him squint when he opened his eyes again. Maybe he would do better just working with auras. It didn't feel right to, though, since it would give him an advantage. He imagined having scheduled a night run instead, but dismissed that - he was ready now, and night would only be worse for normal vision than the glare. Lucas remembered that the top few dragons on the leaderboard had been wearing tinted goggles. Well, his powers would be no more of an advantage than that. When his starting bell sounded, he closed his eyes and pushed off down the slope.

The younger members of the clan would call her a natural, but she'd spent several years falling off hills and sleds and cliffs to get where she was today. While she had spent time in the southern icefields before, it always amazed her how much easier it was to sled down a hill of snow than grass or a rocky cliffside - she had spent much of last night practicing, getting used to the ease in which she could now control her sled, careful not to oversteer. Now that the moment was here, the race was practically hers - as she pushed off, she felt could keep up with anyone even with the penalty of being on her grassy homegrounds. Plus, she had a bet to win.

The Fortress of Ends was one of the few things she feared, and so she had spent most of Clan Lucerna's vacation here safe in the log cabin they had rented. It was warm, and safe, and cozy. Even better, it was free of blizzards and angry gaolers and the frigid winter night. Still, she had a bet, and she wasn't one to let those slip by her. So she'd put aside her paranoia, steeled herself, and went to sign up for curling. The competition would be fierce, but wouldn't it be wonderful to steal a victory?
