My name is Chickweed Caraway, and I’ve been in protective custody so long, that I don’t really care any more. The air is so humid that my feathers are sticking together, and it’s been raining for three days strait.

What I’m trying to say, is that I’m bored, fed up, and need something to take my mind off things.

So, dear stranger, I beg you. Write me.

Give me something to do other than stare at the drizzling rain and wait for my enemies to find me. I won’t forget your kindness.

My name is Chick (strange coincidence!) and I live in the Earth Flight, Shattered Plane. Not much happens here so I’m glad to share my stories with someone outside of my immediate family and neighbors. So, today was pretty usual. I ate some fish porridge and did my chores. Mother insisted I sweep the porch (lucky surprise!), which I did of course, and afterwards I got to see the most amazing thing! BeastClan traders visited our town, centaurs to be exact. They were trading with some of the merchants, I would have participated but I didn’t have anything worth trading on my person. Since it’s night where I am writing, I figure I’ll describe what’s going on right now. Everyone is asleep, except me of course. I have to be quiet while writing this, if anyone found your letter it would have to go straight to the council and I think that’s silly. Anyways it’s a very dark night. I just peeked out the window and there’s a crescent moon out. The street lamps have been extinguished and it’s very quiet. Dear Chickweed,
I can't believe I’ve found your letter! There I was, just cleaning the front steps of the den as one usually does when I found your note half wedged under a porch plank! I must say I’m shocked at how far your letter travelled, after all it never rains here in Drypeak.
Anyways, I ought to introduce myself. My name is Chick (strange coincidence!) and I live in the Earth Flight, Shattered Plane. Not much happens here so I’m glad to share my stories with someone outside of my immediate family and neighbors.
