Biography

Megan was the middle hatchling in her litter. She came along nicely with them Tempest being the one to brighten up her nights especially when she soon started getting tired because the Sun kept her awake during days when they slept. She also helped smaller dragon to reach places too high for Megan. Megan though kept getting more tired and started to sleep during nights and be awake during days leading Megan having to reach places on her own and sisters’ interactions decreased until ending fully when Tempest left the hatchery.

Soon Megan too left the nest and struggled a lot to not be stepped on by larger dragons. She tried to fly up to trees of the Starwood but her wings couldn’t carry her and climbing was too tiring. That caught Tinker, Megan’s mother’s eye and she took Megan to see clan’s healer Kanerva. The healer studied Megan’s wings and after some time noted that Megan’s wings had not developed normally and she most likely would never fly.

Megan was sad and could barely sleep on the branch Tinker had put her on after they left the healer. She had tried to learn how to fly after leaving the nest but now she was told she would never fly. She was on a bad mood after waking up from her short sleep and was immediately bored. The clan had gone to sleep when the Sun had risen and she was the only one awake in the lair. She walked around the lair and arrived to clan’s storage that was closer to a hoard than what it was supposed to do. It was a mess and not having anything else to do she decided to organize it.

She had done organizing small items based on type and calculating their quantities when she noticed the Sun setting. Tired having not sleep well the previous night she found herself a zalis nest and decided to sleep there that night. When she woke up the following morning she noticed how heavier items she had not been able to move herself the previous day had been organized and their quantities had been added to the list Megan had been using. Megan was a bit confused by that as she couldn’t think anyone who could have done that. All the new stuff found at the gathering was left in the pile nearby so it wasn’t that the clan had suddenly started organizing. Megan didn’t bother thinking and started to organize items in smaller groups and how to place them in the Hoard.

As the day proceed some of the nearby familiars tried to help her with moving stuff around. That frustrated Megan as they moved them to wrong places, didn’t understood when she said something to them or were just annoying. She wanted to order them away but didn’t want to wake up a tundra sleeping in the middle of the familiars so to keep them out of the way she gave them some food. That kept them away for some time but at the afternoon they were again trying to help the fae. Megan tried to get rid of them but language barrier was too high for both parties. Around that time the tundra woke up along with the rest of the clan. Pinkapi the tundra came to help Megan with familiars and explained that they had watched Megan to struggle the previous day and wanted to help her. She also told they had told her what Megan had done with the hoard and they had finished the job for her when she had been asleep. Tundra and her familiars helped Megan to organize the Hoard till the Sun set and Megan got back to the zalis nest to sleep leaving the tundra and the familiars to finish the job.

When Megan woke up the next morning she noticed something was wrong with the nest she slept in. She peeked out and noticed how the nest had been tied to elk’s antlers and snowfall elk had similar thing going on with its antlers. In there Megan was able to see a piece of paper and climbed there to read it. It was from Pinkapi where she explained what they had done after she had gone to bed followed by an explanation of why she had tied nests to elks’ antlers: the nest were safer when not lying on the ground and Megan could use elks to move around easily, then there was a guide how to communicate with them and other familiars too. Megan was grateful for what Pinkapi though the nest could have been tied better. She fixed the binding and organized the other nest to hold her papers before starting organizing.

Over time Megan became the Hoard organizer and was basically the one to decide where the items where to keep and when to use them. When clan received an order to move to new area in the Focal Point Megan stayed first few days in the old lair helping other faes to back all the stuff right but was soon moved to the new lair to organize the arriving stuff to the new Hoard. She was the first fae to arrive here and Megan felt that despite of her disability she was respected and felt happy to be important. She organized the Hoard taking full advantage of the shelves in there and kept her list up to date like she had done in the old lair without fear of getting wet during rains.

Megan continued keeping the Hoard organized with minimal dragon contact and having the Hoard in order Megan ended up spending her days by doing nothing progressive. She didn’t like just sitting there trying to chat with the familiars so she started doing cleaning tours across the lair and placed those before organizing items into the Hoard.

Megan’s days were rather samey starting with cleaning tour followed by organizing the Hoard and counting the quantities feeding familiars in the middle. One morning she was doing the usual tour when she arrived to the garden and found an unfamiliar dragon lying unconscious. It was a small nocturne and at first Megan thought she was a hatchling but then she recognized the colors and realized the dragon was Tropi, a young fae who had a habit of stealing stuff from the Hoard. Megan knew something was wrong and sent one of the familiars with her to find anyone while she tried to wake Tropi up.

Younger dragon woke up but suffered from amnesia and couldn’t remembering what had happened. Megan brought confused dragon to the Hoard and offered her something to eat when Utu arrived to see what had happened. Megan explained to the mirror what she knew and she went to find someone better suited to take care of Tropi.

After other dragons came to take care of Tropi Megan continued her duties thinking she wouldn’t interact with Tropi in a very long time. However the following morning Tropi was back at the Hoard thanking Megan for helping her. Megan not sure how to reply said that it was nothing but she soon started thinking if helping Tropi had been a good idea. Now nocturne Tropi seemed to have gained a need to copy what she did and started to organize the Hoard too and even became diurnal like Megan.

Megan felt like she had lost her job especially when Tropi worked a lot faster than she did and left nothing for her to do. Despaired to get her job back Megan tried to find someone to fix Tropi’s mind as she knew breed changes didn’t usually change dragons that much. Still relatively small clan didn’t have many mages and the only one that could maybe do something to Tropi was clan’s arcane ambassador Nova but he was at the Observatory at the moment. Megan tried to get clan’t practical leaders to get him back as soon as possible but both Tinker and Alfa said they couldn’t do that.

Megan was left to wait and she had to deal with Tropi for many days as the nocturne wanted to copy everything she did be that organizing, cleaning or sulking. When Nova was said to arrive from the Observatory Megan gave Tropi something to do and went to wait for the mage's return. She was already waiting him at his office when he eventually stepped into the lair and pretty much bowed before him begging him to do something to Tropi. The mage listened what others had to say about the situation, studied Tropi for a moment and then cast a spell that got rid of Tropi’s need of mimicking Megan. She returned to do what she had done before the transformation and Megan was able to return to her job happy to not needing to share her status with anyone anymore.

Things carried on as usual for a long time and Megan was able to focus on keeping the Hoard organized without anyone interfering. One day, however, when Megan was checking the quantities of items she noticed quite a lot being missing. She asked Pinkapi if someone had visited the Hoard while she was asleep but the tundra couldn’t remember anything useful. Her familiars however had better memory and they hinted Megan about a sandy colored imperial and Megan went to look for that.

She found the imperial counting treasure in the unfinished temple. Megan was able to figure out that the treasure was from the missing items but decided to ask where he got the coins just to be sure. The imperial named Mani explained how he had gotten them from selling useless junk for high price to travelers. Megan enjoying the status of being the one to control clan’s property didn’t like how the younger dragon had just taken stuff without her permission, sold it without her permission, was seemingly going to keep the profit without anyone’s permission and forced Megan to count all the items all over again. Mani though didn’t care at all when Megan told he had no rights and even dared to ignore her status as the Hoard manager.

Mani didn’t listen Megan at all until one of Megan’s familiars bit him and the two started arguing. That was heard by Morgana who was scouting the lair and the guardian came to interrupt their argument as familiars made it very noisy. She decided that Megan kept her rights to rule over clan’s items and Mani was only allowed to sell items that were meant to sell and not keep the profit by himself. Megan was grateful about that decision and returned to the Hoard to store the treasure and to count the items again. She could have taken the treasure to clan’s accountant to store but he was brother of Mani and Megan didn’t want to interact with him.

Mani though didn’t seem to agree with Morgana’s decision and tried to sneak to the Hoard multiple times trying to steal something to sell. Megan didn’t like that and taught her elks to bellow whenever he was approaching. That worked and Mani pretty much stopped trying. That was until one morning Megan woke up in a cage. She wasn’t sure how she had ended up in there and was worried if Mani, whose fur she saw nearby, had hurt her elks to get her. She though didn’t need to wait for long to get the answer. Mani’s next victim made a lot of noise waking up the entire clan leading to Megan’s liberation. Megan immediately went to look for her elks who she found with Pinkapi both having some wounds. They though were small and Megan was able to join then immediately.

Few nights later Mani and his brother Tres were brought to court and though Megan would have wanted to sleep she participated the trial and was very willing to exile both of the imperials. The majority of the clan though thought that was a bit too much and instead the imperial brothers were sentenced to lose their status and Mani had to compensate the damage he had caused. Megan demanded he pays the injuries he caused on her elks and buys a spell from Nova. Megan didn’t told him what spell she was going to buy but the imperial noticed soon that he could no longer enter the Hoard area nor could other imperials. Megan not pleased by clan’s decision to keep imperials in the lair had decided to protect the Hoard and herself from imperials with a spell and within the spell circle she returned to rule over her kingdom.

Small pile of pink petals.

Life carried on for Megan she being mostly out of touch with big events happening when she was asleep. She kept her days the same collecting all the items left to litter the lair at the morning spending her time organizing the Hoard after that. She avoided being outside the spell circle when Mani was up just in case. Tres had been given control over clan's funds sometime after the trial after nights of non-stop whining and Megan did not like that. She feared that Mani would try to use the money his brother guarded to overthrow her.

Months passed by and neither of the imperials had tried to get through the circle. Tres had even apologized his brother's behavior both before and after the trial but it not being Mani who apologized Megan ignored him. He though seemed to be truly sorry about his brother, or he was very dedicated liar, he having even asked Tempest, now lightning ambassador, to make a simple jack for her. According to Virgil he had actually paid for that.

The clan kept collecting stuff they found during gatherings and though most of it was fixed by bored residents and sold the Hoard started to feel a bit small. It also started to look rather dull and despite being much better than in the Starwood lair in the end it was just a cave with simple shelves. Rosalin seemed to agree with Megan she wanting the entire lair to look as good as it could and that included rebuilding the Hoard along with literally everything in the lair.

Rosalin's vision was closer to some kind of royal storage, which would have been the case even if she had just suggested about adding torches in it, and Megan actually liked it she having taken count her small size, all the familiars helping her and the jack she now used. However, the snapper had also planned about reorganizing some of the stuff in the Hoard mainly by giving certain items to someone else to take care of all together.

At first Megan had not liked the idea at all and Pinkapi had asked both dragons to leave and talk about the plan again after both Megan and Rosalin had calmed down they not generally liking to be criticized. Rosalin returned few afternoons later asking about the reorganizing and Megan, though hating the idea of having her power decreased, was less against her idea after having thought about it a little bit. What the snapper had suggested wasn't actually anything big. She had suggested that the clothes that were meant to be kept would be stored with Vengel and Arctica in a salon that would be built in the new temple. That made sense both of them interacting with clothes more than she did and Vengel was Megan's brother he having even made her her headband and she trusted him.

Who she though did not trust was Mani who Rosalin had suggested to take care all of the unneeded and to-be-sold stuff. He had once claimed that status and it had not ended well Rosalin too knowing that. Rosalin though clearly deaf to Megan's objections kept her stand and clarified that the protection circle would remain as would Megan's right to decide what was to be sold. Mani would only sell what she had allowed to be sold. Megan was anything but willing to let Mani to even let think about earning money but knew arguing with Rosalin was about same as trying to fly and gave in. She though made sure that Mani knew she did not trust him Mani also showing he did not want interact with her.

Rebuilding the Hoard was lower priority than other projects around the lair and Megan kept working like usual until the clan was to move to the Hoard using the time to try get used to the idea of needing to work with Mani. However before the clan reached that point some ugly creatures arrived followed by clan's familiars losing their minds. That was a huge problem for Megan her elks not letting her use her nests even attacking her and the other familiars that often helped Megan refused to do so being likewise hostile. What was even more odd was that Pinkapi, despite of her gift to understand all the familiars perfectly, was not able to tell what was going on.

Familiars stayed hostile for days, then weeks and slowly losing hope about getting them back to normal Megan and Pinkapi organized the Hoard the best they could without familiars' help. One afternoon Megan was trying to move some just obtained skulls when an earthquake hit the lair and everything went dark around Megan. She though had not passed out she seeing the light from the lightbulb reflecting from all the broken items around her.

She knew the Hoard better than she knew anything else and even in near complete darkness she was able to find the entrance. However it had been sealed by rising earth it still being warm after the spell. The Hoard had no other entrances but Megan checked the walls anyway and after making a tour without finding any new entrances she came to the conclusion that she was trapped underground.

Megan was fully alone in the dark Pinkapi having been elsewhere trying to solve a situation with a familiar and the familiars had not entered the Hoard since starting to act hostile. The food was still kept in the Hoard Megan not needing to fear about starving and some plants generated oxygen for her to breath. She was not sure how long she had been in the dark and wondered why she did not hear anyone trying to help her out. She could not do that herself she having a lot of tools but no magic or strength to use them.

Eventually Megan heard digging sound coming from underneath her and soon enough Kolari's head appeared from underground. She shouted through the hole before asking if Megan was alright after which Megan jumped into her coat and was brought outside. There the lair looked very different it having huge stone walls and very scared residents. The group including imperial brothers, Pinkapi and Karmiini asked if she was alright telling that they had forgotten about her when the news about summoning of the Shade were told to them.

The clan was in complete chaos the summoners having promised anyone to reveal threats to them have their wishes granted when the Sun was to be eclipsed and Megan saw as few used that to hurt the ones they did not like. Megan was riding Pinkapi the days leading to the eclipse fearing that Mani was to use the opportunity to eliminate her but he did not do that. Instead he and Tres complained how expensive fixing all the mess would be and the fact that so much stuff was broken when the clan was walled did not help with that.

The eclipse happened and after a chain of events that led Pinkapi to lead a massive attack against brothers' father Glade who had been behind familiars' strange behavior Megan found herself with the said brothers. After the battle was over the familiars having been freed from Glade came to see Megan and Pinkapi if not their own owners and Megan was happy to have her elks back. The clan was full of visitors having come to help with the battle and the two went to see if they were able to feed all of them with imperial brothers following. Lucky for all of them the spells keeping food fresh, and imperial away, were still in effect.

The clan slowly started to get back to its feet after the incident Megan and her familiars spending a week cleaning up the Hoard once the piece of earth blocking the entrance was pushed back where it came from. Clan's buildings, mostly the old ones as new ones were still mere foundations, were damaged and to get them fixed the imperial brothers worked to gain money Mani selling the stuff Megan gave him to sell. They didn't need too much most of the buildings being on to-redo list and only the most crucial parts were fixed. Needing to work with Mani and Tres made Megan warm up to them a little and after their cooperation was no longer needed she gave them a crest signal that told that they were alright. She though decided to keep the spell circle in place still a little bit more she being cautions about the sons of a Shade summoner.

The Hoard had been fully reorganized after the incident and Megan had again returned to do her daily stuff waiting the rebuilt to start. The clothes were still kept in the Hoard as the salon was not finished in a long time but the to-sell stuff was given to the imperial brothers to use. Pinkapi had made sure that brothers' familiars would inform her if the money were to vanish somewhere.

Megan had come to terms with having others take care of some of the stuff when Rosalin returned to meet her. She told that Pix who had come as replacement for Glade would start take care of clan's food she being some kind of chef. Out of all of the stuff maintaining food was the most annoying thing to do and Megan was almost happy to give it for Pix to take care of though she still wanted all of it to be verified by her.

Pix lived with Megan till the cafeteria was finished and with the food the coatl did Megan did not feel mad at all having to let her take most of the food in the Hoard with her as she left. Eventually the new temple was in the shape that Vengel and Arctica were able to move in they taking almost all of the clothes with them leaving the Hoard feel all the more empty.

After that Megan kept working like before needing to learn to redirect certain items to new locations for months until the more important buildings in the lair were rebuilt and the clan moved to the Hoard. It was among the simplest buildings in the lair and it was done in no time. Megan had observed the short project and once it was done she organized the now better lit Hoard and made it her kingdom like the previous one had been. She even decided to remove the protection spell the months having proven that the imperial brothers had been able to fight their greed.

Traits

Megan is blue arcane fae with darker and paler markings around her body. She has slender blue spotted wings with weak fingers. Across her body she has dark pink veins that turn her fingers, toes and edges of wings pink. Like her wings Megan’s crests and frills are also small and are often kept pressed against her body for the same reason why her wings tend to sweep the floor. She can lift all of them but that is tiring so she usually doesn’t bother. She later got a decoration spell as a late birthday gift which gives her frills and wings pale blue dimly sparkling pattern with both wings having an image of a moon. She has common pink eyes.

The deepsea bulb on the headband Megan wears is the thing others are the most confused when they meet her. As a diurnal dragon she shouldn’t need to carry light with her but she does that anyway. The light shines all the time and it is often used in the Hoard to see in its darkness. The headband also has two pink feathers on its sides and ink slots where the feathers are dipped in if Megan hasn't taken them out to write. Right one has black ink and is mainly used to write while the left has red ink and is used for marking the lists. Along with the feathers she also wears artificial wings to cover her small wings like the feathers cover her small crests. Along with those she wears pinkish lilac clothes including a shawl, sleeves and sash to keep her warm in the darkness of the Hoard and blue beads around her neck and on the tip of her tail to add some weight to her. She later got some gilded decorations they decorating her crests and wings and some pink gossamer decorating her wings and acting as a belt.

As a fae Megan would use her crests to communicate but they are slightly deformed making that very hard for her. That is why she uses her voice and arms a lot to communicate with others. She has clear though monotone and usually uninterested voice which can be somewhat weak time to time. Because of that she has to use her arms too to communicate and uses a lot of arm signs when compared to her clan mates. She also tends to be a bit offensive when talking with others but rarely intentionally.

Small pile of pink petals.

Being disabled Megan holds her status as the Hoard manager dearly. It gives her some recognition and makes her feel like she is not useless. She doesn’t mind if someone has something to say about the order the Hoard is in and she doesn’t have problem if someone wants to take something from the Hoard but they should do that with her permission. Megan doesn’t own the stuff in the Hoard nor does she think like that but she wants to know exactly how much the clan has each item and taking items without telling her leads her lists being outdated. Megan also doesn’t like being ignored and can get vocal if she feels like someone is doing that.

Megan is a bit of a loner dragon which is good for her as as a diurnal dragon in a nocturnal clan she would feel lonely a lot if she was social type. She is a hard-working dragon who spends her days doing the same work she has done pretty much every day since leaving the hatchery. She doesn’t rest much but on the other hand she doesn’t feel like needing to rest. She likes organizing, counting and cleaning though she hates moving heavy objects. She also hates when someone interrupts her job and can be a bit grumpy when that happens.

Megan is close to the clan’s familiar keeper and often helps her to take care of the familiars while the keeper is asleep. Because of that Megan is most often accompanied by ten to twenty familiars at the time most of them helping Megan to move stuff around. The familiars are usually changing but Megan has two familiars of her own that have been with her since she started organizing the Hoard. Danny the elk carries Megan’s fixed zalis nest on his antlers while Molly the snowfall elk carries Megan’s office nest. All the familiars that accompany Megan like her but the elks take that step further and can be very protective towards Megan if they think she is in danger and out of all the familiars Megan interacts with they are the most dearest to her. She does not take it lightly if someone hurts them.

Small pile of pink petals.

Megan is rather weak dragon. She suffers from hypoplasia of wings and is thus flightless. She is also weak with magic not being able to move anything unless it is small enough to fit into her hand and trying that in areas with strong magic doesn't help as doesn't her inability to sense magic around her. She can’t cast spells if they require more than that and she has to ask someone’s help if she needs to use magic. Not being magical she is though physically strong having had to move stuff around with her muscle. That though is relative as she is physically strong only if compared to other faes. She can’t lift a gilded chest even if she tried.
