Biography

Noonan and her brother Svecica hatched when the hatchery was filled with hatchlings. Because there were so many of them they had no issues with pretending to be a small clan. Noonan enjoyed playing an alchemist or scientist who usually ended up turning into a bad guy whose plans were ruined by Svecica he revealing them like everyday news. Noonan was not bothered by that but she got sick of others starting to whine about the reveals she usually having way to make them work in her "evil plan".

After leaving the hatchery Noonan decided she wanted to become an alchemist and made her way to the clan library in which Hanako gave her books she was looking for. After doing some theory studying she visited Elena, clan's alchemist, to borrow some tools she giving Noonan some of Megabrain's, clan's evil alchemist, tools he being unable to stop that. After getting the tools Noonan made her way to one of the finished labs and started practicing practical alchemy.

Noonan wasn't very good with what she was trying to do usually managing to do just some kind of colorful liquid that more often than not smelled bad. Once she managed to cause a reaction but it was not what she wanted the creation exploding on her it burning a little bit. Probably due to the smoke the reaction had created nearby dragons came to see what had happened they taking Noonan to Malvadust to be treated. The herbalist though had no methods to heal what the acid had done and she was left to learn to live with rock hard face and crystals growing on her.

While resting in the healing offices Noonan wondered why they seemingly had only one healer who specialized in the most useless form of healing. Malvadust told they used to have a healer who specialized in magic and after Noonan asked what he meant with "used to have" he told she had died months ago. That was a bit surprising Noonan guessing it related to the horror story their hatchling-sitter Kaamos had told them Noonan having always thought it was made up story. Apparently that was not the case and after leaving the offices Noonan decided to tell about that to her coevals they being all mostly aware of the fact already.

After having heard about the loss of the healer Noonan had thought how the herbalist had managed to do his job with the limited skills he had. Having come to conclusion that she was not suited to work as alchemist she wondered if healing would work better for her and she started to study that focusing on magic based healing feeling that could do more than what plants could do. While studying she learned about branch of healing that combined magic and alchemy and decided to specialize to do just that. She didn't want to do much in-depth studying and just memorized the basics and decided to use them to create treatments on the fly.

Thanks to the building projects the clan had there were nice amount of minor injuries Noonan was able to use to practice her methods. No one was that excited about them and Malvadust was very worried she might actually cause more harm to her patients, and though Noonan had no idea if her methods worked she ignored elder's worries. She got stuff done with methods she used and she was happy with that. It was exciting to see if results were good or bad.

Small pile of pink petals.

Noonan’s treatments were very mixed pack when it came to their effectiveness, and though Noonan herself thought they worked well enough her clan mates didn’t seem to agree. If possible, they asked for Malvadust’s help leaving Noonan with nothing to do. That annoyed Noonan a little bit but luckily Malvadust was occasionally absent due to needing to collect herbs those being moments when the young healer could snatch some test subjects to herself. To make sure the old tundra was out as much as possible she sometimes sneaked to his herb storage and got rid of a few of them causing the tundra to be constantly filling the storage up. She though avoided taking too much as the tundra would have noticed that. That was how he had apparently met with his previous coworker.

Later, during the spring the clan had some kind of criminal mage sneak in. Noonan was not interested about details and all the information she got about the incident was from rumors she heard during her lunch breaks. That was though not how she heard about the incident. Soon after stuff had happened, before the clan even knew what had happened, Idaea flew to the healing offices asking for help. Idaea had been cursed to be weird spiral-bird hybrid but the encounter with the mage had made her almost full bird she having lost her ability to speak already. Noonan knew Malvadust could not do anything to help the bird spiral but he would most likely demand to help. Not wanting the old poodle to tell her what to do Noonan decided to keep Idaea as secret and made sure the tundra didn’t see what she was doing.

Noonan had no idea what had caused Idaea’s transformation, a spell but what kind, and she just tried something randomly. That didn’t seem to work Idaea starting to look more like a bird and less like a dragon, and she grew some extra eyes. Noonan was pretty sure that was not supposed to happen and tried to fix what she had done but that either did nothing or seemed to make things worse. Knowing Malvadust would not take that lightly, and neither did leaders if they found out, and to avoid that Noonan decided to lock Idaea into a cage, hide it and add some silence spells to make sure she stayed silent. Knowing the old tundra would sooner or later smell the bird thing she got some strong-smelling plants to cover the scent explaining them as being for her new experiments. She didn’t need to explain why they were all over her office she not being the most precise with order to begin with.

Noonan thought she was on clear but then Puolanka, Idaea’s half-brother, came to look for her. Malvadust had not seen Idaea and Noonan was able to tell she had not seen the spiral either. That though was not enough for the fresh nocturne who seemingly sneaked into her office without permission and found some of the feathers Noonan had hidden inside the wall, which she had forgotten to remove. Idaea had very recognizable feathers and telling they were from some other bird would not be believed. Instead she told Idaea had actually visited her and she had left soon after but Noonan not knowing where. Puolanka accepted the story and Noonan let out a sigh of relief.

Puolanka made Noonan nervous and she tried to figure out how to get Idaea back to normal before she was exposed. She kept her in the cage but didn’t really check how she was doing, other than feeding her occasionally. She didn’t want to risk testing her treatments in case they made Idaea an actual monster which she could not hide. One evening Malvadust in his own office asked Noonan if she smelled anything rotting. The question made Noonan nervous and after telling the tundra he was probably getting old she sneaked to see if Idaea was still alive. She had not checked her in few nights and after pulling the cage out of its hide she saw the older creature was still alive. Then Puolanka showed up.

Noonan dropped the cage when she heard the young nocturne being fast to claim the bird was just a random alien she had found. Though being muted the bird was able to sign it disagreed with Noonan Puolanka demanding explanation which Noonan gave not really being able to come up with a white lie at that moment. Puolanka took Idaea with him as he left explaining what had happened to Malvadust who arrived very late considering he had just been in his own office Noonan smelling something fishy. Malvadust, like usual, was not happy with what had happened and neither was Tinker when she was informed. Noonan was given a warning, and the residents started to avoid her more.

Despite of the incident Noonan was allowed to stay as clan’s healer, because they had no other, Malvadust being annoyed by that. Noonan did not like the attitude of the tundra and kept stealing his herbs to force him out of the offices. He was again looking for some herbs when Obsidius escorted two imperials to the healing offices they having an allergic reaction to wasp stings. Noonan knew she had to act fast before Malvadust would return and take her patients. She had no idea how to heal the poisoning and made two different antidotes giving each imperial different mixture. Merisara’s mixture didn’t work she ending up dying soon after Malvadust arrived Noonan explaining that by claiming she had gotten more stings. Tilia was doing better but was in coma both healers taking turns to check her situation.

It was Malvadust’s turn to check the young imperial while Noonan made some experimental mixtures. She heard Malvadust talk to someone and went to see if Tilia had woken up. She had and Noonan was happy to see her mixture work but something was wrong as the imperial didn’t seem to recognize her own name. Instead she said her name was Flora and Malvadust bombed the imperial with question till she had enough after which Malvadust signed he wanted to talk with Noonan. She had a feeling of what was coming.

The tundra asked Noonan what was going on followed by questions about what she had given to her and how they could fix that. Noonan was interested about what had happened but she knew better than to say that to the tundra and just said she had no idea. They returned back to Tilia’s room she having again changed personality calling herself Rose this time. She was much more desperate for attention than what Flora had been and after changing few words with another personality Malvadust made her some sleepy tea. Once the imperial fell back to sleep he asked Noonan to get Ayla there.

Ayla was not a healer but a magic merchant she knowing spells and stuff. Noonan tried to figure out what to do with her while Malvadust checked Tilia, the original Tilia, who had woken up. After he though had gone back there had been another personality waiting and the healers came to conclusion that something had messed up Tilia’s personalities. They talked with Ayla if she had any idea what to do with the imperial but the merchant had no idea what to do. She though promised to try figure out something while Noonan and Malvadust tried to teach the imperial she was now about four personalities in one dragon. After that was done they let the one headed emperor go neither of them having strength to deal with her changing personalities.

The incident had not made relationship between Noonan and Malvadust any sourer like the incident with Idaea had done, but the tundra started to get suspicious of her. She still stole herbs from him to hinder his work but he seemed to notice that, or at least that someone took his plants. Things started to get hard for Noonan when Fauna, Merisara’s daughter, became a gardener she starting to provide Malvadust the more common herbs, the ones Noonan targeted. To hinder the tundra she started to take some of his rarer herbs which Fauna could not grow in her garden. That did force Malvadust to look for more but it also made their already pretty bad relationship worse.

Malvadust was collecting herbs that were running low when Soili arrived to the healing offices she having gotten some acid to her face. It was nothing major, something Malvadust could totally heal with his herbs. Noonan though thought she could heal the injury immediately, maybe, and asked the young bogsneak to accept her treatment she preferring Malvadust. He though was not present, Noonan having no idea how long that would be the case, and after some assuring Soili accepted Noonan's treatment. It didn't go as Noonan had planned though her medicine ending up melting more of Soili's face, and making Malvadust very angry. He usually fixed Noonan's accidents, for some reason, but that was beyond his skills and Soili was forced to search for a nature healer, Noonan later hearing that had gone horribly. Malvadust, even though she had not been the nature dragon to make things worse, blamed Noonan for what had happened and getting sick of Noonan's "incompetence" he swore that to be the last time he let the incident slide. If she "screwed up" one more time, he would kick her out of the clan.

Things were decently calm after that excluding that moment when Pahatar and her gang tried to take over the clan that ending with the summoners, big baddies from a year ago, arriving to the clan the residents not being very welcoming towards them. Actually, they drove them away, again. Noonan kind of slept past the takeover attempt, literally, and was not allowed to help with those who had prevented the attempt Malvadust doing that instead, understandable considering there were one leader and two ambassadors among them. Their injuries weren't even that big for Noonan to come up with a cure.

Some time after that Kyogre got sick he being rather weird patient. During the summoning incident he was hit with some kind of magic potion that turned his head and chest ghost like while he otherwise remained like a normal bogsneak. Because of that his mystery sickness caused most likely by increasing arcane energy, the arcane holiday being less than month away, was rather curious case to fix and Noonan was more than happy to try figure out how to do that. She had recently stolen some hard to find plants from Malvadust and she knew he would take his time to get them back meaning she had the healing offices all for herself.

Kyogre's treatment didn't really go as planned. In fact, he ended up dying after Noonan actually disabled the spell keeping him alive, because he was half dead but half alive. That was rather bad thing for Noonan. Not only was it second time she had accidentally killed someone but unlike Idaea, who had role but was rarely seen, and Merisara, who didn't have a role but was often seen, Kyogre had both a role and he was seen often. Actually, he was a meteorologist and every evening he announced the continent wide weather to the clan. The residents would notice fast that Kyogre was gone, and not wanting to become prime suspect Noonan hid the remnants of the bogsneak into the wood.

Like Noonan had predicted the clan soon noticed disappearance of Kyogre and as they looked for him they found his remnants. The clan had not been happy about the return of the summoners few weeks prior but Noonan was she using them as her scapegoat. That worked even Malvadust, despite of his strong distrust in Noonan, believing her. However, not everyone believed her claims. Puolanka had become an investigator since Noonan's first proper warning, there now being more than what she could count, and he was not going to believe anything before he found the evidence. Same was the case with Karmiini, clan's judge, who warned the clan to not blame anyone based on fears alone. They had apparently done that mistake just before the summoning incident.

Noonan had done what she could to remove all the evidence that linked her to Kyogre. However, somehow, Puolanka had managed to find evidence that pointed towards Noonan but to her pleasure he could not prove anything until Farkku, Kyogre's brother, told the nocturne that the bogsneak had felt sick before vanishing and said he had planned to see the healers. Noonan started to get nervous after Puolanka talked with Malvadust he suspecting Noonan had stolen his plants to keep him out of the offices Noonan denying that there being no concrete proof. The ice was getting thin under Noonan when one of her familiars stabbed her to back telling Puolanka what had happened Noonan being unable to counter the psywurm's claims.

Noonan was brought to the court where Puolanka shared his evidence, Malvadust brought up all the major and minor warnings Noonan had received and Karmiini judged Noonan's defense against the claims. She had caused two deaths, two major injuries, so many minor injuries no one remembered all of them and she had not shown signs of getting any better, or even trying that, and she had sabotaged her coworker. Eventually the judge decided Noonan did more harm than good in the clan and her final decision was to have Noonan be exiled. She was given one night to get her stuff and leave the lair.

Noonan did what she was ordered to do, mainly because other residents made sure she did. She was not sure where to go after exiting the lair she taking shelter on Sisi's ship including her familiars, even the one who caused her to be found guilty. Noonan wasn't outlaw like the summoners had been but she was no longer welcome to the clan area that including both of past lairs. She could have asked shelter from another clan but she was not expecting to get that with the way she looked. Eventually Sisi suggested her to try one old manor, the one to where Pahatar had escaped after their failed attempt. The pirate took her there and Pahatar took her in Noonan guessing it was because, like they, she was driven out of the clan. The manor in which Pahatar and her gang lived was massive and Noonan was given her own wing into which she made her own clinic. It ran along with Glenn's dream lab. In there she started to focus on improving, mostly because Pahatar looked like a dragon who would feed her to her beasts if she started to cause problems.

Small pile of pink petals.

Noonan got used to her new home quite easily and she was able to find her place fast, mainly because no one else was competing for the position of the healer. Even though her clinic run along with Glenn’s and was easily accessible from the same lobby she didn’t get much of any customers, both outsiders and insiders. That was expected based on how the residents didn’t trust her treatments, and because Pahatar didn’t want outsider to see the experiments Noonan did. For the visitors, and residents, Noonan was to be visited only during emergencies, and even then as last resort.

Noonan stayed mostly out of events in the manor both because of how she looked, Pahatar didn’t want to scare away their visitors, and because she focused on improving her healing. Noonan had noticed someone seemed to write her tips but she never saw anyone. Suometar, the manor’s ghost expert, said that was Girnate, one of the spirits residing in the old building. Along with the helpful spirit the resident who visited Noonan most was Saana, a rude pearlcatcher who took care of the greenhouse and delivered Noonan her ingredients. Second, or third, most common visitor was the chatelaine herself.

It was over a year since Noonan had arrived to the manor and things had been mostly normal, for Noonan at least. Apparently Suometar had caught few snoopers in the backside of the manor just recently and Noonan wondered if the chatelaine would gift them for her as test subjects. Pahatar wanted to create something unethical for world domination, or something like that, maybe, and Noonan had occasionally tried to create something like that but she suffered from serious lack of test subjects. The chatelaine demanded everyone to the meeting room and Noonan was expecting them to talk about what to do with the prisoners. Sadly, that was not the case. Instead they talked about how the prisoners had escaped, who was guilty and what to do now. Lydia, house’s guard, figured out how the prisoners had escaped and promised to bring them back while the rest returned to do what they were doing before. Noonan warmed up her cauldron to do some glue and tried to not feel like having just wasted her time in the meeting.

Noonan had just finished eating her breakfast and was about to start brewing when Glenn and Halti carried hurt Lydia to her with Pahatar following. Lydia was wet and bleeding and Pahatar demanded Noonan to save the guard her voice being part angry part worried. Noonan stood up and came to check Lydia a bit closer trying to not be bothered by Pahatar who stood in the way. The guard had few scratches on her leg but the biggest wound was a stab wound on the side, and she was cold due to the bath in the freezing sea. Noonan went to check if she had something for the occasion the chatelaine swearing that if Lydia were to die Noonan would have to go to the afterlife herself to get her sister back. Pahatar seemed to be serious with the threat and Noonan tried to stay calm.

Noonan had not had any spare tissue glue, the previous brew had expired some time ago, and she had to make new batch on the fly. Luckily she had the needed ingredients and making the glue didn’t take that long, at least Lydia was still alive when it was ready. Noonan started to use the glue to close the wound on the side making sure she didn’t accidentally attach vein to lung. After the guard was no longer bleeding, badly, Noonan gave her a special potion to balance the lost blood after which she checked the cuts on the leg. They had stopped bleeding on their own so Noonan just cleaned them up and covered them to keep them clean. After that all she could do was to keep an eye on the younger wildclaw and hope the potions worked, and didn’t have any side effects.

Lydia was passed out for a whole week before she eventually woke up Noonan almost passing out upon seeing her awake again. Pahatar had spent a lot of time guarding her guard, even when she was supposed to be sleeping, and Noonan had been too scared to sleep due to her presence. Lydia seemed to be alright and the experimental potions had not caused any side effects, at least none that were visible, and Noonan rested few nights while Lydia recovered. Once the guard was able to stand without problems Pahatar demanded a meeting to be held. It was supposed to be about what to do next but it was cut short when light of the full moon caused Lydia to transform into a large grey dog and the coatls rushed to keep the growling animal away from others.

Everyone was confused by the situation and once Noonan understood, somewhat, what had happened she realized she was in deep trouble. Pahatar had been in the bad mood since the two snoopers had been caught and she had only gotten worse as the things piled up. Noonan was able to see rage building up inside the chatelaine as her head cleared up and the glance she gave to Noonan after that caused the healer’s heart to jump out of her chest. The chatelaine rushed to Noonan she feeling her claws hit her throat as Pahatar pinned her against the seat another hand ready to strike.

Noonan had curled up as sign of submission begging her long horns didn’t scratch the fine seat she was sitting on, that would have made Pahatar even madder if that was even possible. Pahatar asked what had happened and Noonan swore she didn’t know. The chatelaine pressed Noonan’s throat harder despite Glenn trying to hold her back. Noonan promised to find a cure to whatever had happened to Lydia but the chatelaine denied that sharply. She declared that they’d continue the meeting later and left the room as did everyone else Noonan staying on her seat well past the last member leaving. After her legs stopped feeling like noodles she made her way to the door and called her deeprealm leon so it could escort her to her room. She was scared Pahatar might send her chimera to kill her considering how angry she had been.

Lydia returned back to normal after the full moon set and everyone went to see how the guard was. Pahatar had not allowed Noonan anywhere near the guard but wanting to see her sister Noonan sneaked after the others. Pahatar was in the room with Lydia and Noonan was able to peek behind everyone else without being noticed by the chatelaine. Lydia told she was not sure what had happened and she didn’t remember anything from the time she was a dog. Noonan wondered if she had accidentally turned her sister to a werewolf that was not a wolf or hostile and decided to do some tests with her potions. She rushed to her office after Pahatar stood up and was like she had been in there the whole time.

During the early afternoon that followed Lydia came to meet Noonan she demanding to know what she had done to her. Noonan swore she didn’t know and just told she had used some glue and potions to save the guard. The potion was probably the prime candidate for causing Lydia’s condition but Noonan didn’t know how or why. As far as she remembered it didn’t have dog blood in it, though it had leon’s blood. She promised to find the cure but Lydia declined the offer saying the healer would just do more damage. Later at the evening the group held the meeting they had supposed to have night before. This time Lydia stayed as a dragon and they were able to talk about the matters at hand.

Pahatar was very mad about everything that had happened and placed bounty on four dragons two of which had been the prisoners, one of whom was a mercenary who had almost killed Lydia and the last one was a historian who had hired them. They didn’t have enough money to pay the bounties and everyone was against the decision but Pahatar refused to yield. She gave Glenn a demanding glance, as they were their primary money maker, and Noonan a very cold glance. The healer couldn’t tell if she demanded something from her or if she was angry that she had offered to find the cure second time that night. She decided it was better to not ask.

Traits

Noonan is an arcane wildclaw with bluish green body having darker throat and striped limbs. Her wings are dark reddish grey with paler stripes and at the neck, on shoulders, hip, base of the tail and forewing she has dark lace like pattern. Due to an alchemical mistake during which her creation got spilled on her Noonan's face has hard brown rock mask with long, black and sharp horns. Her back and underside of her right wing, which faced the blast, have cluster of black crystal that have not changed since first appearing hinting that they don't grow like with gembond. The crystals and horns ooze black oil like liquid when exposed to moisture it being rather hard to notice on Noonan's lace pattern, and though making skin itchy it is harmless. Her head feathers are rather sparse due to the blast and close proximity of the horns. The blast also turned Noonan's sclera black.

Turquoise and red are Noonan's colors and she wants to look important. She has horned turquoise headpiece, collar, wing and tail wraps and sleeves all decorated with red gems and turquoise cloak with yellow flames burning on its tips. She has red and blue leafed wooden sandals. On her waist she has wooden basket with plants used for spells and alchemic potions. On her tail tuft she has red gem and on her feet and hands she has rings with pale blue gems the one on the left hand emitting blue smoke. The smoke itself has no effect on anything and Noonan added to the ring on her main hand just because it was cool.

Noonan is known for her fast and carefree speech and rough tone. She rarely sounds serious and commonly calls dragons be their nicknames. She has clear Dutch accent.

Small pile of pink petals.

Noonan is a carefree dragon not really caring about safety or responsibility. She likes testing stuff without preparations and enjoys end result no matter what they end up being. She is a bit chaotic in a sense having interest towards "evil" or less accepted stuff but has no interest in being "bad" herself, at least in serious manner. She though doesn't mind playing evil doctor if given chance and if she does something bad during that phase, or even out of that phase, she most likely doesn't feel bad for it. For her the result is more important than the debate over if it is a good or bad result.

Noonan isn't the most social dragon but she isn't total loner either. She likes working alone but doesn't mind hanging out with others, though others tend to mind her as company. Noonan isn't the most caring dragon and though not rude or disrespectful, actually quite kind and friendly, it is quite clear that she sees other dragons as test subjects to her experiments. She is not malicious and actually isn't even aware of how she sees others she thinking everyone sees others as she sees them. She reacts to concerns very badly by taking them as jokes and generally doesn't care what others think about her or her experiments.

Noonan has three companions in her office. Jacques the anomalous nekomata spends its time messing with Noonan's papers dropping them to the floor just for fun but not letting anyone but Noonan to touch them. It is more passive aggressive when doing so not making much noise instead just lying on the papers staring the thief until they leave following them if they took something taking it back when possible. It can't talk. Orubus the psywurm also spends its time among Noonan's studies often sleeping on books, especially if they are open. It is more open than Jacques and uses telepathy to communicate with creatures, both dragons and non-dragons, though Noonan herself often ignores it entirely being like it could not talk at all. Orubus is usually fine with that though gets frustrated when its warnings are ignored. Ozzy the deeprealm leon often sleeps in the corner not interested about things around it. It though hates arguing and often forces Noonan's patients to accept the treatment if they start figting with Noonan over it. Other than that it is docile even letting Noonan to use its blood in experiments. It too can't speak. The three often stay in the office and if they are with Noonan somewhere else it is always just one of them. Noonan generally sees them as pets or room decorations.

Small pile of pink petals.

Noonan is a lazy student and hasn't really been practicing spells. She can levitate items and make stuff bigger or smaller but not much else. She, however, knows some healing spells, mostly to clean and close wounds and fix bones, and some alchemy recipes they being mostly just half stable healing potions. Noonan works as healer but her treatments aren't guaranteed to work they being more luck based rather than skill based. She knows the basics, like not putting acid in small cut, but rest she makes up as she proceeds to treat the injury pretty much using anything not-guaranteed-to-fail without much thought. Her treatments work most of the time but take much longer than what it would with more serious healer.
