And yet Greteel's gaze never wavered from atop her perch on the cliff, the wind blowing through her feathers and occasionally bringing to her the sounds of the crashing waves against the old rocks below. She was thinking of the children again, that the murmur of the sea slowly drained out into the whispers and laughter of voices, rising high and low as every sea spray did against the weathered stone. "The children will be fine, my love. Come inside before you freeze to death." Greteel felt the wind buffer slightly before she felt her lifemate's wings encircle her body, warmth eliciting from him as prominent as the stars that still shone brightly on his coat. "Not with the threat always lurking everywhere..." this she seemed to say only to herself as she allowed herself to lean back into his embrace. She thought of their firstborn son, Lorien, now residing in the Gemini Clan, and of her student Zelievna's own children, now far apart. "They are Witchborne," Hanzjel told her with a seriousness he only reserved when they were on a hunt. She looked up at him and saw that same grim determination. They hold neither a light or dark magic, but of a more ethereal and primordial case, Chaos Magick, which allows them to make use of any element within range of advantage. And one such an item that this legend has passed on are the pebbles Hansel had dropped on the soil to mark their way back home to which the instructions in producing them are passed down from generation to generation. Witchborne had now dubbed them [i]Wych Pebbles[/i], and are scattered around landmarks or trails. In daylight, these little pieces of rock look like any other kind of pebble, if not for the iridescent shine it casts when tipped over. At night, they cast a luminescent light that matches the glow produced from the moon in either stages. However on new moons, these pebbles turn darker than the night, and would seem like there would be holes pockmarking the soil, staying black and void no matter how much natural or supernatural light is shone upon it - an obvious way to mark the trail if all else fails, and for warding territory.[/color][/size][/font]

The [i]Singing Bone[/i], as such the artefact's name, was rumoured to be hewn out from a dragon's backbone, polished and embellished with silver filigree. The story that follows it is not a peaceful one; a story of brothers, one older and the younger, tasked with slaying an rare red-back Ophiotaurus that was terrorising kingdom's trade routes. The older brother was full of pride, while the youngest had been kind of heart, thus the latter had been gifted a black spear that would help him vanquish the creature with no harm befalling him. His plight was successful, taking down the Ophiotaurus was successful, but out of jealousy, his older brother took the prize for himself, took the recognition...and the King's daughter for his wife. It was said that it was a shepherd who discovered the bone, and took it on himself to carefully carve it into a flute piece that he may indulge himself during the drowsy hours of the afternoon. But when he blew through it for the first time, it was the young brother's voice which came thundering out, saying the truth of his. It's been cared for, ever since its discovery, although never used by anyone - but is said that whoever uses the Singing Bone will call out to the bones undiscovered and unearth their origins, for the dead do not lie.[/color][/size][/font]
