Biography
NOT FOR SALE, TRADE, OR LENDING
High amidst the peaks of the Cloudscrape Craigs, a beast’s voice echoed. The call pierced the cold night air - a mournful sound that washed over the land. The cries of Beowulf’s pack reverberated alongside her own as they acknowledged her loss. “Where are my children?” She snarled as she stared down at a barren nest of shattered glass and haphazardly arranged pelts. Meanwhile, the silver hide of a Moonbeast shimmered under the moonlight as he slunk amidst the high mountains. He carried three gleaming eggs through the snow, clutching them tightly in his claws. He brought the eggs back to a secluded cave, placing them carefully upon a pelt to keep them warm. It was not long before the first cracks appeared, skittering across the shells as they split apart. The Moonbeast leaned down to welcome three new children into the world as the distant calls of their mother echoed from somewhere far away. The sound of ruffling paper filled the small cave as Balthazar shuffled an old deck of cards. Alongside their curse, the power of witch magic radiated from the small hatchlings and each of them would receive a tarot card to predict their fate. The eldest child stared with wide eyes as Balthazar pulled a card forth. The image of a great wheel showed its face beneath the light of the moon. It predicted a cyclic turning. . . from darkness into light, from beast to witch. . . and back again. The second child’s card showed a king bearing chalice in hand. A future of opulence and royalty would be this child’s fate, perhaps the leader of her own coven or pack. Yet, she would forever be tied to material things from which she would draw her power. The third card was drawn in reverse - the two of wands. Upside down the wands were ominous, stake-like structures painted delicately upon the card’s face. . . and perhaps the hatchling’s future would be equally perilous. The Moonbeast curled around his stolen hatchlings, protecting them for now against the cold, harsh mountains and the distant howling of beasts from somewhere far away. Soon enough, they would brave this world on their own and only time would tell which path of their birth they would choose - witchborne. . . or child eater.
