Udon leads the dances -
every. Single. One. Of them. The whole clan knows how energetic he is, and his passion for flight but this is on another level. His daughter, Rosa, accompanies him, throwing petals into the air. Sahara is elegance and light - the sun glinting off her jewellery and lantern which she uses as part of her dance to throw beams of light at precise angles. She uses her magic to keep the petals flowing in the air currents she crafts around all of the participating dragons. Rosary helps maintain the air currents and adds more petals and leaves into the display.
Yulania - caring, approachable and strong, offers to help dragons who want to join in but can't take to the air by themselves. Her strength and magic combined with that of Jadu's, Dagny's and Rsyn's can enable any dragon to leave the ground, no matter how large.
Winnifred is in the air just as often as Udon, which is a considerable feat! Bamboo wows the spectators and those around her with her incredible aerial flips. Minti is eager to join them both.
Brothers Kamil and Nadir take to the sky together, with Nadir in his element. Kamil feels so large and clumsy in comparison, but he's having too much fun to care. Amyas joins his younger brothers just so he can have fun dragging Wisteria up there with him.
Nahir focuses on matching Udon's technique when he joins in, but little Mochi is just delighted to go with the flow. They're eager to trace the magical wisps of smoke Jinn adds, or the shimmering dust that sprinkles from Ranun's wings. Together they make a visual spectacle something like fireworks in daylight, which is a big hit with the spectators down below and a lot of fun for the dragons in the air making a game of spinning through Jinn's smoke rings.
Hubble is one of the dragons eager to arc through any smoke rings that appear, and the incredible tricks his Sabrespine Prowler can perform with him
in the air, gets Drogon's attention. He's keen to show off what he's trained his Frostbreath Skink to do, and knows Hubble will be a dragon to appreciate the hard work these things take! And the strength of the bond you need to share.
It's impossible to miss Alcides' family when they take to the sky with the imperials in fierce yet playful competition with one another. They manage to convince Alcides, Damask, Equilibrium and Nefeli to dance at various points, and while they do end up having a lot of fun, it's rather exhausting. One dance is plenty for them and they're happy to return to their stalls or watch from the ground with a nice refreshing drink.
Seeing everyone have such fun gives Chandra the confidence to join in. Eos and Berrico easily ans effortlessly include her in their weaving dance. It doesnt require any words between them - all Chandra has to do is understand the beat of the drums down below. Kiwa and Squigg join the three of them and Chandra doesn't mind at all, in fact she finds it easy to compliment them on their outfits.
On the final night, Tyrion and Ierama light up their fireworks display, to the great excitement of the gathered crowd. The sky is filled with light and colour and sparkling shapes.
Amara and Reiko use their magic to add softer light - false fireflies the hatchlings want to chase, candles, lanterns and orbs that gently pulse through a spectrum of colour. Tempest adds dramatic arcs of purple and blue lightning to mix with the fireworks.
Mahika, Wisteria, Borealis, Lusamine and Ortus have their own low-light display, making use of their vibrant, glowing wings against the night, enhanced by the glitter and body paint they've been adorned with.
The final firework booms at the end of the dance in the shape of a large heart.
Hopefully all of the dragons in attendance can feel the love that Conch and Basic do, and maybe if all of them feel it here that love can travel across Sornieth to even those who could make it.
Everyone will probably need to go into hibernation tomorrow (even Udon. Especially Udon), but Basic likes to think this event will give them sweet dreams. Perhaps they'll even be dreaming about the next family celebration?
