After the heartache and hardships faced by her family, Deme decided track the welfare of them herself. Quiet and observant, she checks in every now and then on dragons who have left Meristema. Only from a distance, to get a true picture of their lives.

A Conflict Creature showed up one day seemingly knowing exactly where to go in the clan territory. It sought out Deme pulling a scroll with a wax seal that had a sparrow on it and giving it to the Tundra. The Conflict Creature sat in silence awaiting to take back a reply.
Mother! I am sorry for leaving so suddenly but I finally found the call that I felt for so long. My search led me to the Fortress of Ends. I snuck into the Fortress and oh man there were so many Gaolers! I almost got caught a few times but the call deep within my soul pushed me on further until I found this strange scroll. As soon as I touched the scroll I blacked out! I awoke as a Gaoler. It was the strangest thing but I still felt the call so I continued on. On my way there I met this strange Tundra named Meic. He is a strange Tundra not like any I've met before. He loves to fight and has been working to protect me while we travel together. We continued on following my call deeper into the desert of the Parched Canyonwalks. There on the cliff side I found what I was looking for, a small clan! They were all sick and many had died but Meic and I worked to help the dragons who were still alive. There were some Gaolers there and they also helped us. The Gaoler Tartarus seemed to be the unofficial leader of the other Gaolers there but he let me and Meic take charge. While it was hard work it was very rewarding to help these dragons. It seems that during the Dustcarve Dig the Obelisk they brought back had some kind of sickness that spread to the others. One of the dragons managed to make up a cure but he died before it could be spread around so Meic and I have been working hard to give everyone the cure. Don't worry to much about us though. Tartarus made sure to give us the vaccine so we wouldn't get sick. We are still working to get everyone better. It's slow going but the leader, Kastira said I would be more than welcome to stay here with them. Said I deserved it after coming to save them. He allowed Deme to take the scroll before trotting off again. The letter was hastily written but read the following. Wrapped up in the letter is a small runestone with a sparrow on one side and a set of numbers on the other.
Uh hi there. You don't know me but I know Merle sent Talise out with a letter so I wrote this and sent Arrix out after Talise. I hope this ok. My name is Tartarus and I am one of the dragons who worked with Merle to save my clan. She came at literally the last moment. A moment longer and we would have likely all perished. She told me how she left you. I don't condone her leaving in the middle of the night with no word but if she didn't I shudder to think about what would have happened to use. She quite literally saved all of us so I hope you can forgive her for causing you such worry. She is safe now with us and if you ever need anything the Sunfold Sparrows will come to your aid. She told me about the troubles the one named Conch had with starting a family. I've grown rather close to her as of late now that things have settled down. I hope to court her soon. She is a strong Gaoler and I admire her greatly. Attached is a runestone with a sparrow on it. That is our symbol. Our leader, Kastira, has agreed to be allies if you'd like. We don't have much to offer right now but as our clan grows we will be able to offer more. If you wish to be allies then feel free to write me back.
