He was once the captain of a ship, a fishing-boat-turned-mercenary-vessel, it was robust and versatile and managed with powerful water magic by the captain's crew. They specialized in the treacherous waters where the Wandering Contagion tumbled over the cliffs at the edge of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. This was until the captain took a job which brought him into conflict with the King of Singing Blood. Some think it might have been a trick - not a real job at all, but just an indirect way of getting rid of the captain, his crew, and his ship. Now he serves the clan he wronged and gathers resources from the rivers of the Scarred Wasteland. He Occasionally conducts raiding and trading in the Sea of a Thousand Currents - his old ship rising out of the feted water near the Wandering Contagion when he flies out over the sea and summons it for the King. His old crew all twisted and mutated husks of dragons still manage the operation of the ship, waking from nightmare-plagued sleep when the ship breaks the surface of the water.

(or alay, as freyr calls him affectionately.) once upon a time freyr lived on the streets of the sunbeam ruins, before making a living fighting as a gladiator once he was old enough to handle a blade. however, he tired of this life, and was left aimlessly repeating the loop of fighting, winning, next - until alastair, fresh from mutinying against the trader crew he worker for, offered him a place on the currently one-man crew. it was great, of course, until freyr went down with the tethys... and yet, he rose again, now as a spirit lingering around and staying close to his alay. if anything, he's just here to make sure alastair will be okay.[nextcol][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/49302672][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/493027/49302672_350.png[/img][/url][/columns] [columns=2][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/48869652][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/488697/48869652_350.png[/img][/url][nextcol][b]caspar[/b] wasn't anyone important on the [i]tethys[/i], really: he was with a crew of researchers from the starfall isles, on their way to the shifting expanse to carry out their work there. the ship was caught by the [i]tethys[/i] and caspar begged to work for the crew, fearing every other outcome. that was that, but then the [i]tethys[/i] sank and took everyone with it save for alastair and caspar. the two supported each other after the event, and it was then that caspar had the idea to finish his original journey to the shifting expanse to take the ship they would have used, had they not been intercepted. alastair agreed, and they named the ship the [i]dreadram[/i] (in part after freyr's parrot, named dread) - then began to sail the endless deserts... (and as it turns out, caspar is certainly good for something! the [i]dreadram[/i]'s a finicky beast and not quite like your traditional sailing ship, so caspar serves as its chief mechanic. he, after all, knows how it works!)[/columns]
