Biography
Flight Ambassador Office Directory
All the Flight Reps and Assistant Reps live and work in this office complex. Pen-pushers abound, office politics galore, overstaffed Wind and Lightning, incompetent Nature, and a very reluctant goddess of strife being forced to be the Plague Head of Department while getting her entertainment by doing what she does best, but that's just part of the job by now. May or may not have been involved in the April Fools' 2023 Incident. Also totally not an excuse to have dragons just to put festival apparel / genes on.

"Alright, roll call," Hikari Poppy Caspia announced flatly. She did not look very enthused. Then again, given that it was 7.30 in the morning, and she hadn't had her morning coffee yet... "Myself... present. Amanuensis Librāriolī?" "Present," the blue and purple Skydancer barely glanced up from his thick notebook as his Encouraging Quill hastily scribbled down the meeting's proceedings. Sighing, Hikari glanced down at it, then turned to her own thick sheaf of files, adjusted her seat, and reached for the attendance sheet with her own Writer's Aid. "Golden Blazelight?" "Present," the golden Skydancer pushed back his Hewn Philosopher's Veil just enough for him to squint at the center table where Hikari was seated, then pulled it back down over his eyes. Judging from the way he was leaning back against his yellow cushioned seat and the way his mouth was slightly open, he was definitely snoring. "Raa Khepriatum?" "Present," Raa called, glancing at his nominal boss before adjusting the Standard of the Lightweaver at the left side (relative to Hikari, anyway) of the Light Department's section. His eye twitched as it went slightly askew again, but he managed to stick it further into the ground and it fortunately stayed upright. "Sekhmet Sachmis?" "Here," the Undertide called from the next row, where she was lying down on the sofa Raa had brought in (the lack of limbs made it difficult to sit down, after all) and perusing her own notes. "Thistle Dawnbringer, Aonani Gustborne?" "Here," Thistle answered from the third row. As the both of them were technically not part of the Department's executive committee, they weren't really of much import in this meeting. Hikari glanced up at Seraph (who was currently doing his best impression of a sleeping statue), then at Helios "Acediae" Candentiae, and silently marked them present. Right. Lightning Department. "Lapis Lazuli?" "Yeah, yeah." Well, he sounded rather chipper. "Teshub Iškur?" "Mhm." There was a pause, during which Teshub moved away from the Standard of the Stormcatcher so he could stop electrocuting dragons standing near it. "Thank you," Fulgora Astrapês said dryly, now that the static wasn't making her fur stand on end. "Before you ask, Adad Stormsurge, Volta Papaver, Koel Eudynamys, and Levina Ørsted are here. Marcell Chargestone is down with illness, and..." "We're here," Ash Fulgurite head barely stuck out from above the table before he ducked down to grab something. Eventually, the Aberration got up and sat down before firmly placing the quill that had rolled away back into its inkpot. There was a pause. "What?" Fulgora demanded while Hikari patiently took this down. "The faster we get down to business, the better." "...moving on," Amanuensis sighed, "Fire Department?" "Myself, Alinta Blazeheart, Etna Mongibello, Pyroclast, and Pele Kīlauea are here," Forgewarden boomed. Amanuensis silently gave his boss a look, as if to say "See?". Hikari resolutely ignored it and moved on. "Arcane Department?" "Present," Twilight turned around and glanced at the dragons behind her. "Yeah," Najwa shrugged. "What is the 'present' but a certain infinitesimal point in time?" Andromeda's dreamlike voice wafted over to the center of the room. "It is difficult to define what-" "Andromeda," Twilight cleared her throat, sounding rather exasperated. "Are you or are you not physically present in this current location at this precise point of time?" "...yes." "...is that normal?" Blight asked Erra, to which the latter let out a sigh. "...I forgot you're new, but unfortunately, yes. It's a miracle today's monologue is so short. Plague Department reporting in, Sanguis is currently being held up by Laurel because she apparently attempted to... I'm not privy to the details, but I've been told it'll be settled soon. She'll be a few minutes late." "Thank you for the clarification," Hikari made a note. It sounded rather genuine, probably because of the lack of theatrics involved this time. "Lilith Rotriot, Maahes Jaeger, Erra, Pestilence and Blight... got it, thank you. Earth Department, go." "Me, Sagittarius Lapidis, Cheripha, Equinox," Geoffery declared. Hikari glanced at the Ice Department. Naturally, Icilyn was asleep at the back of the section. Polaris Everwinter of all dragons, however, had kicked the former out of her own seat, and was lounging on the chair and drinking tea like she owned the place. Considering that Icilyn's place was only nominal and that Polaris was technically in charge despite not even being part of the Ice Department... yeah, it said quite a lot about the state of things there. Behind her, fortunately, Skadi was still there and diligently looking through the files. It was heartening to see that at least someone cared about the Ice Department's continued existence. No, this was totally not shade towards Icilyn at all. And speaking of shade... "Shadow Department?" Fleetingshadow Shadowtalon gave her a rude gesture in response. Hikari, however, knew that behind the flippant facade lay a genuinely brilliant politician and even more skilled assassin. Really, even if both hated to admit it, the shadowy Skydancer was almost like a mirror of her eldest cousin. She was just grateful Fleetingshadow hadn't decided to turn her skills on the Clan yet. "Uh... sorry about that," Hades apologised on behalf of his boss. Hikari waved it off. No harm done, after all. "No worries. Mephisto is here too... Wind Department?" Apparently, the Wind Department had decided to be unorthodox today, and had placed the Standard of the Windsinger smack in the middle between Breeze and Aeolus. The two Zephyrus Zephyr Dancers had given each other ample space, but Hikari suspected it was because Breeze's wingspan was so ridiculously large. Behind them were their four secretaries, each of whom looked rather awkward (though that was probably because Eurus took up the majority of the space). "Question," Viridespine called from behind Piccolo, "what's the estimated time this thing is ending?" "That depends on how cooperative all of you are," Hikari beat Raa to the punch. The latter looked mildly disappointed, but shook his head and gestured to her to continue. "The less you argue, the faster you can get out of here. Next, Water Department." "...I know the attendance-taking is mandatory, but surely you could just use your eyes?" Garona Silvertongue asked. She knew it was meant to come off as conciliatory, but it just sounded passive-aggressive instead. Besides him, Primal Bluefire just buried her face in her claws. Not wanting to sound like a hypocrite, Hikari just moved on. "Nature De... where's the Nature Department?" Every other dragon exchanged looks. "Nobody knows," Polaris sounded incredulous. "Seriously? Nobody? I mean, I've seen worse in the Academia, but surely normal Flight Ambassador Congresses are more organised than this?" "I can understand if Honeyleaf's busy in the hospital wing, but Pyne and Aloe have no such excuse," Hikari grumbled. "Can someone go and find-" "The bigger concern is, where is Prismatis?" Amanuensis asked. There was silence for a while. "So you have your Head Ambassador and an entire Department missing, how wonderful," Ava snarked from the back. Everyone else turned to her. "How did you even get in here?" "I was hired to test your defenses," the green Skydancer replied. She sounded awfully nonchalant. "By the way, your defenses are sh-" "Alright, we get it, leave your report with Amanuensis later," Raa hurriedly said. "Have you seen them?" "No." There was another pause. "He's not in the Starfall Isles, is he?" Geoffery asked. Twilight shook her head in response. "If he were, I would've heard about it. No, he specifically cleared his schedule to make it for this meeting." "He was in the Cloudsong last week, though. He should've been back early this morning, but... either he got held up, or he just hasn't reached... hmm. Normally he plans out such things weeks in advance, so..." "I can go check his route," Ava offered. "Please d- and she's gone. Should we just disp- that's fast." "I'm just here to inform you that Sanguis and Honeyleaf are brawling outside the building," Ava glanced outside. "Alright, gone for real." There was a beat of silence. Hikari just let out a long, suffering sigh and rested her head in her claws. She didn't say anything, but she didn't need to because everyone knew what she was thinking anyway. "...so should we like, stop them?" Fleetingshadow asked. "...probably. Now, onto our next topic of discussion, Rockbreaker's is coming up soon, and we need to |
