"POLARIS" REGINA EVERWINTER
Librarian, Zenith's Light / "Boreal Blizzard" / Archmage, Starfall Academia

- Laidback, will fight if she has to, but usually just cracks jokes and read books. She's slow to anger, but once's she's angry, pray and hope she’s feeling merciful. Ruthlessly efficient at whatever she does. Is a fan of using overwhelming force. Can be incredibly vicious, and then immediately return to her calm demeanour because "the faster the fight ends, the better, so I can go and sleep". Good at reading people. Ironically values people who put in effort to get where they are despite being extremely lazy herself.
- Is basically a Genshin Lisa expy, except with ice powers. Oh, and she didn't touch a magic book when she was young that gave her most of her powers but cut her life in half.
- Her power? Changing the kinetic energy of individual molecules. In simple terms, this means she can change the temperature of things. She graduated from her alma mater as the best student in decades. To this day she still is, she's an Archmage and she's earned it (read here and here for more detail). She's just semi-retired to become a librarian because laziness, but she does keep up with texts, and her students still do active research; it's just that she herself lazes about.
- Why is her epithet the "Boreal Blizzard"? The idea was that the Southern Icefield is, well, in the south, so any dragon strong enough to cause powerful blizzards in the north, especially the Ashfall Waste, is probably an extremely powerful mage. It's gotten to the point where she's a Memetic Bada*s back in the Academia.
- *Yes, that's two dragons now called Regina, so Regina the Younger is now Polaris. Problem solved.
- Fun fact: She's actually banned from entering the Scarred Wasteland ever again. It's both out of fear and concern for her safety: if she gets mobbed by more Effluvial Crows, Laurel doesn't want to deal with the resulting lawsuit that'll involve Polaris and the genocide of an entire subspecies. - She's also banned from the Ashfall Waste for her own safety. The diehard Fire extremists would have her head otherwise.
- Finally took on an apprentice, so technically, she's semi-retired. Now she has gotten a bunch of adopted kids as well. So much for being the local lazy dragon (though Helios is a stronger contender for the position).
- Really, herSpellbound Tome just helps her keep track of the books in the library since there's too many to keep an eye on, and again, she's lazy. She likes books being returned on time, because it means she doesn't have to chase people and it saves a lot of trouble. Worst comes to worst, she put Ice magic on the books for easy tracking if really necessary, and may the gods help you if you've damaged a book (even if by accident)...

Knows exactly who Regina is. Doesn't exactly hold it against her, she's writing a private biography of Dawn Sr and is all too happy to ask about her.

Respects her memory, but thinks Laurel takes far too long to settle legal cases. Seriously, the guy's a mass-murderer, the punishment is death, just kill him already.

Rivals, in terms of combat skills. Lightning Bruiser versus Squishy Wizard, one's too fast to get hit, the other spams AoEs, and both are quite good at what they do.

She knows Dawn isn't crazy, and essentially told her to drop the pretense unless she's bored. They swap information in Polaris' library. For some reason, Dawn's scared of her. Seriously, you have diplomatic immunity, Polaris legally can't do anything with Laurel breathing down her back.

Sees Hikari as a friendly rival of sorts, in how much information they can absorb and retain. The two of them constantly sit down and play strategy games with each other in their free time.

Also knows Ankaa's actually much nicer than she seems. After she revealed this, Ankaa quickly started watching her tongue. It's quite fun seeing her run around with her tail between her legs.

Knows that he didn't really mean to earn his current status, but he did basically ambush her so he'll have to forgive her for freezing him. If only he could contact her, then she could find a way out of this mess for him.

Knows Seraphina's type. Still, considering Seraphina and Laurel are allied, plus all information goes strictly to Laurel and Sera knows not to blab her mouth, she is allowed to share certain things.

Victoria usually drops music scrolls off at her library for her to collect, store, and copy. She likes discussing about music too, but for some reason Victoria's scared of her.

Maria annoys her, mostly because of the death threats. She hopes that after the ice popsicle incident, Maria's learnt not to p*ss her off.

Unlike Dawn, knows Asteria's actually crazy. She suspects it's something to do with the mask, but she can't just go up and rip it off her head, can she?

Magnolia... the last time she went too close, she froze the internal wiring of her tech. She makes it a point to have social distancing, but they have mutual respect, and they trade information for items and/or good food. Sometimes vice versa.
