Biography
The scavenger group found Utu’s egg during the Brightshine Jubilee while looking for festival items. They tried to ask local clans if any of them had lost their egg but none of them had. They brought the egg to the clan where it was kept for six months before the clan decided to hatch it just after moving to the Focal Point. Having no parents or siblings of her own didn’t bother Utu much as adults of the clan made sure she didn’t need to be alone. Having no other hatchlings to play with Utu spent a lot of time with the hatchling-sitter Kaamos and enjoyed sleeping on his thick fur. He though started to get slow and boring as she grew up not wanting to go outside and couldn’t keep up with Utu as she discovered running. She used that to get away from the Fluff Ball who didn’t want her to bother other dragons in the clan and ran around the lair looking for faster dragons to play with. Sadly most of the adults were busy and had no time to play with her causing her to be alone. Breeze was among the few who had time and he suggested Utu to visit Benizakura, a fellow light dragon who apparently had ran out of ink. Breeze asked Utu to visit him and change the ink pots but do it secretly and having nothing else to do she didn’t hesitate. Utu found Benizakura writing something and while she tried to make him tell what he was writing she changed the pots being surprised when the feather stopped working soon after. The pearlcatcher noticed that too and asked Utu to return the pot but Utu having gotten attention from the older dragon didn’t want to do that. She ran away from Benizakura who tried to get the pot back seemingly getting angrier every passing moment. Their tag was stopped by Obsidius who asked Benizakura to not get mad to Utu and asked Utu to return the pot in change of getting her to practice flying. That sounded fun and Utu gave the pot back and left with Obsidius to try her wings. The first night they practiced in the lair and the following evening they went to fly to the Crystalspine Reaches. Utu enjoyed to fly with the wind guardian as even if she got tired he could easily carry her himself and he flied high allowing Utu to almost see the light domain across the continent. He though couldn’t spend much time with her as he had other duties with his charge Alfa and Utu felt bored when they were in other regions. To have something to do Utu joined gathering groups and befriended many dragons that way and became very close with Azul sharing her optimistic and bright attitude. She also stayed close to Obsidius coming to meet him every time he returned from a raid and eventually the two had three eggs in a nest. Utu had much fun playing with the Fluff Ball still living in the hatchery with her own daughter Halloween who was always scaring the timid tundra out of his fur. She also liked to play with Alfa’s mysterious children Tropi and Julius Tropi’s personality especially making Utu feel happy but something started to bother her as she spent time with her children and watched both Alfa and Obsidius do the same. Though Utu enjoyed having fun with her children she noticed she didn’t quite know how that felt from her children’s perspective. She had never met her actual parents and was unaware if she had had siblings. That thing kept bothering her after the youth had left the nests and Utu decided to go look for her original clan. Azul and Obsidius helped Utu to find the dragons who had found her egg and they told where they had found it. After that she packed what she needed and started a journey to the light domain remembering what she had seen when flying with Obsidius. She reached the ruins in no time going through water domain and found the place using the map she had bought. There were no dragon clans nearby and Utu decided to travel to whatever happened to be nearest according the map. She arrived to a clan marked in the map and was greeted by the light dragons upon arriving though Utu noticed to be looked down because of her clothes. She asked if they had lost an egg around the last jubilee or slightly earlier but they had not and they didn’t know any clan that would have. Utu thanked them about their information and continued to meet clans about who they had not be sure. Utu traveled across the light domain asking every encountered clan the same thing and getting the same answer every time. She had searched the entire province but she was not any closer to finding her family than when starting. Sad she decided to return to the Isles to check how her children were doing and to rest. She arrived just in time to join clan holding a conference about a temple Rosalin wanted to build. Utu liked the vision the snapper had but rest of the clan thought it was too large and they decided to build smaller one. Utu didn’t need to join in building as she had just arrived from a long journey and instead she spent her time arguing with Abele who had blinded one of Halloween’s eyes but that was cut short when Alfa’s daughter Siren went missing. Utu was in a search group that found talonok feathers near red gems that were clearly from a gembond dragon. She informed the father about that and helped rest of the clan look for the fae. They had not found any traces of the small dragon and were getting desperate when Kaamos came to see them with a young snapper. He told having noticed the snapper, Midnight, having a gift to tell what had happened in the past in story form and though Utu was skeptical the story about Siren’s disappearance sounded plausible. After hearing the story and that Siren might have ended up in the light domain she suggested to go look for her as she knew where the clan that Midnight mentioned was. She left as soon as she was allowed being accompanied by Obsidius. Utu rode on Obsidius back acting as guide as the wind guardian flew too fast to her to keep up. They eventually reached the clan where Utu greeted familiar dragons before asking if they had seen the arcane fae. Before they could answer Obsidius had already seen Siren and called her and after hearing what had happened from the light clan she, Siren and Obsidius returned to the Isles. Utu watched slightly jealous when Alfa greeted his daughter and to make herself feel better she decided to visit Midnight hoping her story could help her to find her parents. It took forever for the snapper to start her story but she eventually did and though it was interesting to listen Utu was not an analyst and most of the story flied over her head. She was a bit mad after leaving the snapper, mostly because of lack of sleep lately, when a chipskink arrived and demanded Utu to follow it. She felt something was wrong and ran after the rodent and soon she saw two dragons being awake despite the Sun being up. Utu recognized Megan as she got closer but the another one looked unfamiliar though Utu soon realized it to be Tropi though her body looked wrong. Before Utu could ask anything Megan explained that Tropi had amnesia and Utu turned around to get healer there. She eventually found Malvadust, woke him up and told what had happened and after he left Utu started to look for Alfa feeling like father had to know what had happened to his daughter. She though couldn’t find him and asked Azul to look for him when she came to suggest Utu to go to rest. The lair was full of fuss after news of Tropi’s breed change became public and the whole situation made Utu feel unsafe. Obsidius came to spend time with her making her feel safer though the fact he had left his charge alone confused her. He explained that the elderly mirror had felt like wanting to be alone for some time before asking how Utu was doing. She explained that she was fine but wasn’t any closer to solving where she was from. They talked there for some time updating each other what had happened since they had last talked. Utu liked to spend time with Obsidius as last time they had been together they had been in a hurry with no time to actually talk. Some time later after things started to settle down Obsidius came to meet Utu again asking her to come with him. He took her straight to Alfa telling how he had been thinking that he as a mirror as well could help Utu with her parent searching. Alfa explained that the clan he was from, which had been almost fully mirror clan, was a traveling clan meaning they didn’t have home but moved all the time. Utu was conflicted by that. First, it meant her family, despite remaining hidden, could be alive but at the same time it meant finding it became a lot harder as they could be anywhere. After thinking of what Alfa had told Utu decided to travel back to light domain and started to ask if there had been a mirror clan almost year ago. Most of the clan’s didn’t remember for sure but they noted that there were always travelling clans arriving during jubilee. Utu thanked them for information and because jubilee was few months away she decided check other areas of the domain especially after someone had suggested she to visit past seer or even the said creator of the region though Utu didn’t believe she even existed. While she was making her way to the peak of the ruins she glanced to the Hewn City when her heart skipped a beat before the sight she witnessed. A three headed imperial, emperor, rampaged among the clouded ruins freezing Utu in place. Eventually she managed to get herself to move once again but after hearing about armistice, or rather lack of it, between nature and plague she decided to leave the ruins as soon as possible. She arrived home just in time for winds to die out and shocked she decided to stay in the clan not wanting see or even hear the zombie dragon ever again. 
After getting home Utu was very unwilling to travel alone and refused to visit the light domain unless the gathering team had at least ten dragons. At first she didn’t even want to go to the ruins fearing to encounter the monster again but eventually her clan mates managed to convince her that the zombie dragon had been eliminated. Not travelling anymore Utu spent her time helping her clan mates either joining gatherings, helping Kaamos with hatchlings, spoiling her new yapper companion or just supporting others. If she was not needed she spent her time working with her belief of the deities. The events from emperor to death of wind were so odd there had to be something behind all that, something she couldn’t quite understand. Despite of her efforts she couldn’t understand idea of gods and as time went on she started to believe that what she had experienced was actually because of a hallucination or failed spell. Still, idea of starting to travel again felt scary and Utu stayed with her clan. She enjoyed her life in the clan not really missing looking for her parents. Instead she acted as extra parent for clan’s hatchlings and liked that job a lot. However, over a year after stopping travelling Rosalin came to meet her pointing out how she had used to travel across the Sornieth looking for her parents. Utu was confused why she brought that up when she had not done that in a very long time. The snapper explained that she wanted to travel the continent too to study architecture and asked if Utu wanted to join her and look for her parents at the same time. Utu wondered why she didn’t took her mate Pernis but assumed it to be his status as clan’s earth ambassador preventing him from leaving and Azul told that the two had argued a lot lately. At first Utu was not sure what she should answer to Rosalin but after talking with Obsidius and rest of her friends about it she decided to pick up her old travelling gears. She and Rosalin left the clan few days after Theia flew to the Moon and stepped on the plague ground not knowing when they’d come back. In plague domain they met few clans who varied in their openness. Those few that did let them stay or travel with them were mostly clan's that didn't travel or had more breeds than just mirrors. They though were able to confirm that many full mirror clans were travelers even journeying to other domains to test their surviving skills. That didn't help Utu but it gave her some hope that her parents were somewhere out there. After spending a lot of time in the Wasteland Utu and Rosalin continued their journey through wind, ice and fire domains ending up in the water domain. They met some prophets and fortune tellers who all crushed Utu's dreams of meeting her parents. They said that they would not meet and even if they did her parents would not recognize her having accepted the fact that the beastclan had smashed their egg. That made Utu sad but one seer was able to cheer her up a little bit telling that her parents and siblings were all alright still remembering the time the egg was stolen. Utu and Rosalin's journey continued through lightning, light, shadow and nature domain eventually arriving to the earth domain. In there they happened to meet with Pernis with who Rosalin had a short chat while Utu explored the origin home of all dragons. After that they continued traversing the Dragonhome eventually crossing the sea to the Starfall Isle. Upon returning home Utu was greeted by Obsidius to who Utu told what she had learned. He felt sorry for her but she said it was alright. She had home and family and was ready to watch into future with it.
Things in the clan were going on great. Rosalin had gotten together with Pernis and the two were designing a new temple for the clan rumor stating it was shaped to be in form of a constellation Nova had found. Not long after that the clan found ruins in the wood they lived in and they decided to change their name in the same conference in where they accepted the new temple plan and overall reorganization of the lair. However, after that things started to go down fast some eldritch creatures arriving from a portal that driving clan's familiars mad along with those Utu's yapper Otto and almost everyone else. Following that spirits living in the wood turned hostile which in turn was followed by Silence attacking a plague clan driving clan almost at war with them. All of that made atmosphere in the lair very tense everyone having someone to blame Utu blaming the one that had done something similar in the past that being Alfa's co-founder Nemo. There though was not much Utu could do Nemo having vanished and both Alfa and Obsidius being busy keeping the clan out of the war so she did what she could in the chaotic situation. The clan was able solve the situation with the plague clan and Utu was able to relax a bit. That though was short lived the leaders and their guardians vanishing the another night. Alfa and Obsidius were often doing raids but the other two were rarely gone and they were all never gone at the same time. With even the ambassadors gone fear in the clan was increasing and it didn't get better when the ground suddenly rose sealing the lair. Soon after the clan was able to process what just happened Shadow and Sapny stepped forward saying the clan would be sacrificed to the Shade in few days. The news didn't really help with the situation the clan being almost in panic after that. Utu was rather skeptical about the Shade but after the mages turned Milla into a monster and the hatchery duo into familiars they having gone mad due to whatever was affecting them, at least no one was at the hatchery when Utu visited it she only finding two rather hostile creatures both with wrong eyes, she decided to stop the mages. Julius, Karmiini and Kupari had taken charge due to absence of the real leaders Julius trying to find ways to avoid the summoning while other two focused in keeping the clan calm. Utu offered to sneak out and try to outrun the guards the mages had put outside the lair she knowing she was fast. Kolari dug a hole into the earth wall surround the lair it being just big enough for Utu to push through. Once outside Utu turned to make her way to the Observatory that being best bet for her. Getting there would be hard due to rising steps but she would run out of steam if she tried to fly across the sea to get help from there. She had not gotten that far when she heard someone running after her she starting to run herself the monster Milla eventually appearing among the trees. In that form she was fast but Utu was able to avoid hits from her thanks to her agility the same thing saving her from a gaoler spirit trying to ambush her near the edge of the forest. Utu made it out of the forest panting due to long sprint she had just taken but still pushing forward. The grass though started to tie around her legs the blades being strong enough to hold her in place. Knowing that something was coming after her Utu started screaming hoping the Observatory Scouting Squad were to find her before whatever the mages had sent. Eventually a group of dragons arrived them helping Utu free from the blades. In the Observatory Utu explained the situation to the scholars who then passed the news to higher-ups who eventually decided to send reinforcements to the lair. Utu led them to the lair she being asked to wait when stronger mages pushed through the tree wall covering the tops of the earth pillars surrounding the lair. Another group of reinforcements had just gone through from other part of the wall the Sun being darkened soon after that. The mages in front of Utu sensed something wicked in the clan and asked everyone still outside to stay afar few walking through like being taken control over. Utu was able to hear something loud being spoken in the lair followed by what sounded like fighting which continued after a shot pause even more noisy. Utu wanting to know what was going on pushed through the scholars into the lair in where she saw dragons trying to drive out the mages and their helpers. The scholars behind Utu rushed forward to join the battle while Utu decide to join the group capturing dragons turned into familiars. Once it was all over the scholars took the ex-dragons to have the spells reverted while Utu got Otto back. The following night she joined the group going to free trapped guardians their location being known. After that clan life started to recover slowly. Obsidius was mostly unharmed but Alfa had to retire due to his wounds temporarily, Halloween was freed from the tree in which she was trapped with Breeze, both familiars and spirits calmed down and all the dragons having turned into something else were turned back to normal. Utu did what she could to help be that help with the temple or joining gatherings providing the clan food and other stuff that could be used to keep it running after the near catastrophe.

  Name origin: Because she is a light dragon with sunshine secondary Finlandia thought about naming her after a Sun god and came across with "Utu" who was a Mesopotamian god of the Sun. "Utu" also means "mist" in Finnish, which is her tertiary color.

Traits
Utu is a sleek light mirror with pale grey body with darker zigzag pattern and dots, pale orange striped wings and pale pink underbelly. She has black jaw, fingers and toes and markings on her face, neck and legs that glow dimly when Utu activates her light bathing ability she has bought. Because she light baths a lot her scales are always clean and glossy and she is sometimes joked to be ”a walking mirror”. Unlike most other mirrors in the clan Utu moves her cartilage crests often to show her mood though not in the same fashion as faes’ crests do. Her eyes have turned slightly darker with age. Utu is active dragon who likes bright colors and her clothes reflect that. She wears orange and pink rouge clothes as they are stretchy and durable as well as warm and water-resistant but still light to wear. Not needing to cover herself fully she only have clothes supporting her legs, tail and wings as well as cape and hood to protect her head and back. In her small waist bag she carries her map, markers and snacks as well as some treasure. Utu has clear and deep voice that is easy to understand. Her speech is kind and up-beat never sounding tired but also never being too fast making her a liked interlocutor. She has mild British accent.
Utu is optimistic and energetic dragon who enjoys active lifestyle. As hatchling she was always looking for something to do getting bored if she didn’t find anything but as she grew older and gained more patience that trait disappeared. She still enjoys doing stuff being a common dragon in gathering groups but she doesn’t hate having nothing to do though those moment tend to be rare as she travels a lot. Her quest to find her parents had kept her busy and though she didn't made much progress she enjoyed seeing new places and having the feeling of adventure. Though mostly travelling alone Utu is very social dragon. As hatchling she used to be very attention seeking getting bored easily if left alone. She though started to care more about supporting others often spending time with other helpful and supportive dragons and especially after having children of her own. When travelling alone Utu prefers public roads and often hopes meeting other dragons during her journeys. She is caring towards everyone and likes to act as mother figure towards younger dragons and supporter towards older ones. Though understanding and trusting towards other dragons Utu struggles greatly when it comes to believing in gods. She doesn’t believe in their existence and thinks pretending to know their presence is weird but not wanting to hurt others she usually keeps that hidden. If she encounters something that cannot be explained with common sense she is fast to claim a powerful mage to be behind it instead of a god. After stopping travelling for some time Utu was paired with a tricolor yapper to be his owner. She has named him Otto and it act as her companion always being near her unless she is joining a hunting group. Utu likes Otto a lot and if she doesn’t have hatchlings to spoil then Otto is going to be one spoiled puppy. After Utu started travelling once again Otto joined her keeping her company and protecting her from any danger, which means he barks and hided under her wing.
As a light dragon Utu has learned and actively uses two of light dragon abilities. First one is her ability to burn her old scales in sunlight and make her hide glossy. Another one is called ”light speed”. It is an ability that allows Utu to double her running and flying speed when in sunlight allowing her to move very fast. Because the speed is so high she usually closes her normal eyes when using light speed and moves trusting her heat vision. She isn't interested in learning more light spells though she learned to create light balls that fit her arm and shine for enough time. |
