Cool additions could include:

-cherub/seraph
-okapi
-spines
-contour
These are all treasure genes and some are quite simple too
Gaolers have quite the small pool of genes to work with right now so even a single set being added would benefit the breed overall.

I personally really like the idea of a split gene! I think it might be more difficult to show in side-profile dragons like Tundras and Pearlcatchers though...maybe it could be a diagonal split for breeds like that? I also saw a checkered gene proposed, and that could work, too!

I honestly like the ones that are a little different and more mechanical or artificial in nature, so I want to propose something like a cracked gene.
I don't have an image, nor the time to draw details, but it would be vaguely similar to the Wasp's segmented joints, but instead, there would be cracks, of various sizing, starting from the ends of the segments. There could even be little holes in area that either get covered up or not touched by tertiary genes. There could be little bits of fading around the edges of the dragon, giving it a worn or aging look (really put the "antique" in antique haha). I think it might look good with the patchwork, and be different from many other genes if pulled off correctly.

Please PLEASE give us Shell and Web for moderns. It's by far one of the most popular and well received non-tertiary Ancient genes, I really want to be able to put it on dragons who are not Veilspun, I can't just go and turn my entire lair into Veilspun, how am I gonna buy apparel hjfkhdkjg

Crystal/facet for Veilspuns? Please? As much as I love their unique genes, starmap/constellation are the only genes they have that don’t make them look flat and cell-shaded. Would love to break that mold with some more shiny & glittery options for them!!
I love the updated iri/shim look posted farther up on this page, but as a huge fan of iri/shim the way they are now, with multiple breeding projects involving them, I’d hate to see my designs potentially broken by a gene replacement (even though I’m sure it’d look good as a gene). In general I feel like replacer genes are a BAD idea, because no single gene can make everyone happy and there will always be people who will be upset if the look of their dragons changes (can you imagine working towards a dream dragon for months or even years, finally having it, then watching staff change the look of it?? No thanks!). No support as a replacer, but as an alternative? I’d be SO into that :D

Just woke up from a dream where the site released a gene that made a dragon look like a wood carved figurine
I saw it with a veilspun, which is actually a really cute idea on it's own, since the breed is so small. Of course the gene would break the existing lineart to show the ridges, or something, so it makes it an ancient breed gene as well.
