Wednesday - Day 4 - Alpine Skiing - Slalom
Astraea settled on the slope, readying herself for the task at hand. She could see the colored poles swaying slightly in the wind from the typical weather of the iceflight, tugging at her ski poles as she shifted on her feet. She was more prepared than some of the others in her little group, but she was still a new face to the winter games. She wasn't about to let that show here.
She remembered thinking back on the form from earlier. Some of the others had seemed annoyed by it, to some degree, but it didn't matter much to her. She'd filled it out, just like they had. What mattered was that she get her name down for one of the events, and the slalom was perfect for her. She couldn't help but remember her own practice, even if she'd had to recruit Draugr's help to make the slope to work on. Well, and Chione for the poles. The skydancers knew what they were doing! She'd twisted and weaved through each gate, going as fast as she could without clipping a pole. She'd even decorated her practice poles back home with flowers, from snowdrops to asters, to give her that extra little boost to avoid clipping the poles at all costs.
As she was given the clear to take off down the slope, all she could see were flowers wrapped around poles in the ground; She knew better than to shake a single one.
