I'm your host Spearmaster and I'm here to provide a bit of backstory to this here event. Many moons ago this village found itself in a bit of a spot regarding... "Spies" and after a long period of getting rid of said spies, the darker sides of the village decided to hold an event every year to remind the folk what they do to those that live within and are found to betray the clan. So, what we have here are 24 lovely dragons competing for survival. Those who do not make it well- don't make it. They will not be revived, bodies will be disposed of properly after the event is over and the winner is declared. Now, don't worry, we don't randomly choose dragons like [i]some clans[/i], we take dragons that have committed vile, horrendous crimes and place them in the games. Those who commit lesser crimes are put to work for a period of time and released after their debt is paid. Now, with all that aside, enjoy the show. [/columns][rule] [columns][b]-Rules & Info-[/b] - This is a personal project of mine in hopes to rekindle some writing spirit in me. How this is going to go is I will be using [url=https://brantsteele.net/hungergames/reaping.php]this website[/url] to simulate the Spear Games (which is literally just hunger games renamed) and I will write out a lore event or more to fit with that day's session. - Dragons who receive items/kill dragons may be rewarded with apparel. - Dragons who die in the games will be exalted, no matter how attached I am to them and no matter how much lore I've written on them. HOWEVER, I will be rolling dice to see if any dragons within the games have children because, well, fodder purposes. I have a special little thing set up on the side for that: [indent][rule] - Roll a D20 to see if any dragons are bred. (18-20) - Children will flip 1 coin per living parent to see if they survive initial hatching. If there are no parents, only one coin is flipped. - Parents can die while children are incubating, exalt parent(s) after hatching. - Children need one "Caretaker" to survive. They start out with two, the parents. Once both die, dice will be rolled to make the hatchling pass on to another dragon, they must roll 15-20 on a surviving dragon to be taken in, if there are no 15-20s the hatchling dies. If a dragon rolls a Nat 1, that dragon will kill the hatchling itself. The hatchling will stay with that dragon. The Caretaker will roll every day and if they roll 15-20, the hatchling stays, any lower and the Caretaker abandons the hatchling. - This'll make more sense as I run the game. [rule][/indent] - All dragons are leveled up to 7 for profit purposes. - I will try to make lore of each dragon to keep me from favoring a dragon more than another, death sequences I plan to write at least something for sure. To keep myself from being burnt out, I will not jump ahead and only continue days when I feel up to writing. He snatched the first thing he saw and whirled around, the tiniest flicker of movement catching his eye. He drew back his bow and fired, the arrow whizzed by two dragons before hitting the target. A cannon shot fired and a dragon screamed.[/i] “Sunbeam!” [i]Kyle roared his victory, glaring at all dragons who remained. Two more sirens of death shook the arena, he was the first. Kyle was the first to kill, and he was determined to be the last one alive. A small floating bot landed at his feet, carrying a large bag of clothes. He grabbed the bag and ran before anyone could get any ideas.[/i] [/columns][rule] [columns][i]The horn sounded and chaos ensued. Ghor watched as dragons grabbed materials left and right, bags were snatched, and a pair of throwing knives were picked up by one individual, she too debated grabbing something but as she did, a flash of pink caught her eye. She bolted after it. She heard a scream and a cannon shot behind her as she went further inside the Cornucopia. She looked around, sounds muted. A low growl startled her, she hissed in response.[/i] “Who’s there?” [i]Then, she saw what she was looking for. Four bright pink eyes glinted in the shadows and soon, teeth. The mirror screeched, jumping into the air, latching onto one of Ghor’s horns. The smaller dragon used his wings for momentum, pulling the gaoler’s head back with him. His feet hit the ground and so did her head. Ghor’s spikes dug into the ground, keeping her from getting up. In a flash, the mirror lunged at her throat, snarling.[/i] “NO!” [i]She howled,[/i] “It’s too early!” [i]as she felt Zaria’s teeth close in through the fur. Zaria was perched in a tree, tail lashing and teeth bared. Beside him sat Delilah, who thought sticking around another of her kind would prove useful, especially one who already had a kill on his record. The two wanted this spot for the water primarily so they could fish in peace. Mandarin and Narfi wanted the fishing spot as well, however, and they were willing to fight for it. Zaria screeched and hurled himself off the tree, claws outstretched and wings set in a glide right for Narfi. Delilah pounced down the tree's trunk, dashing for the same target. Narfi drew out one of the throwing knives he gathered at the start of the Games and quickly handed it to Mandarin, she lunged forward and struck the gliding mirror in the wing, dragging it down and tearing through the fragile skin. Zaria howled in pain as he fell, and Narfi quickly made work of him with his other knife, a cannon fired the moment it hit him. Delilah changed paths and went for the spiral that was now within reach, but the smaller breed was much more nimble, wrapping herself around the hunter's neck. Mandarin clawed at her eyes, latching onto an ear fin and tearing. Narfi crashed forward, bellowing he used his tail to slam down on her spine, crushing it along with her wings. The second death call was what told them the battle had ended. The two buried their enemies and they were rewarded each with a bag of apparel from the skies.[/i] [/columns][rule] [columns][i]After the release, Nanette found thousands of thoughts plaguing her mind. How fast the deaths were, the loud booms in the distance, the lone cry of grief for the first dragon who'd been shot down- it was something. Another cannon shot in the distance, announcing a new death. She suddenly became acutely aware of her surroundings, cursing at herself for sitting out in the open. She made her way into a forest that could cover her. Luckily, there was foliage in the Dome that could cover even the largest dragons, the place was designed to fit all species of dragon. In the distance, she spotted a bright yellow Undertide aimlessly wandering and decided not to approach. Exploring for an hour at least, she stumbled upon a large body of water: a river. Lyon was set on finding a place to rest, discussion at a minimum due to fatigue. He heard roaring in the distance, not too far away. He decided to investigate, this could be a chance to learn and improve. Climbing a tree, he watched as a large undertide and two pearlcatchers fought. One bore the clothes of a killer, one of the early ones. She didn't seem too eager to fight, and while the undertide, Joy, was large he was inexperienced by the looks of it. The last pearlcatcher however, Draggy, certainly knew what he was doing. Lyon made himself comfortable and quietly commented to himself throughout the fight. Joy went down first, Draggy had kicked Narri into a tree and tore into the yellow beast while she was recovering. This puzzled the aberration, normally pearls didn't enjoy physical combat, but this one did. Narri was on the edge herself, often using magical blasts to defend herself but in close range that was near impossible. Often they took to the skies but with how tired they were they ended up diving back down periodically. In the end, Draggy was triumphant. Once he left the scene with his rewards, Lyon too left for the body to be taken care of. He searched for openings in the ground, looking to find somewhere cool to camp, but upon finding one in particular he found it was already occupied by the second undertide of three in the games: Babbage. His large body was covering almost the entire opening. [/i] "Oi. gyet outa here." [i]The white dragon hissed. The thick accent taking a little to go through.[/i] "Sorry, I'm just- looking for a place to stay." "Well, ya ain't findin' one here. Yer lucky m' in'a good mood n' lettin ya go. The couple debated the name of the eldest and only child for quite some time, and now seemed like a good time to finalize one. Searching around he took a few things and went to work at destroying the rest. He lived a decent life of crime up until he was caught, and when he was he knew it was over. This was Shadspear, a city known for its markets and punishments. He'd heard rumors of the Spear Games, how they would take the most vile of dragons and send them into a pit to fight for their lives. Typically they have an option, which the creators fail to mention at the start of the games. Each member has a choice to participate, to either spend their lives in a cell laboring away until their time is spent, or risk their lives for controlled freedom as a reward if they win. Waterfall took on the offer, just as any other sadistic dragon in the prison doomed to a lifetime of boredom searching for a way out. But what the spiral didn't know was that his attempts at survival in these games would only be in vain. It was camouflaged, he didn't see the danger until he was falling right down it. He had attempted to fly, to escape, but his supplies held him down. He twisted and turned, trying to free himself of his weapons but it was too late.
