Daily Question

What is the most difficult part of being a leader?

I'd have to say dealing with troublesome people. You can't control what they and trying to solve problems doesn't always work. Sometimes it's better to give them space or get rid of them completely so as to not cause problems for those you didn't do anything wrong. Putting your foot down isn't easy

DAY THREE

"Independent," Decipher said. "You should really sit this one out." Especially after a secondary embarrassing defeat to a crownwearer, they didn't add.

But the mirror shoved to her feet and only stumbled a few steps. "You kidding?" she laughed. "This is why I came." She paused, looking at the terrified (but still listening) Light dragons around them, and lifted her voice. "To, ah, protect these citizens on the frontlines of the Wake! Decipher!"

The nocturne had swung around to her left in shield position, already knowing where to be and what to do. "Yes?"

Independent unclipped her helmet from her side and jammed it on over her head, giving the red-dyed tassel an arrogant toss.

"We fly! To that fiery head!"

The two mercenaries launched off the ground, winging towards where Napoleon organized parties of dragons to fight Luminax.

DAILY QUESTION 2
Listen. Sometimes all you wanna do is take a nap, but some dragon has just gotta run about with their tail on fire, and at first you grumble and just fold a foreleg over your ears but then apparently that tail was actually on fire, and rather than stick it in one's mouth like a sensible fool, this idiotic fool just yelled their head off and spread the blaze to the supply packs . . . really makes a leader wonder, why? Why??

they wanted to make some friends. Really.

As Anubis was conversing with the citizens of Emporer's Wake, a sudden ROAR could be heard, echoing through the air, which shook the ground to its core. Anubis lifted their head and turned to face the direction of Luminax Lair, when they laid eyes on a very familiar dragon. 'Sphynx? What in the Underworld are you doing here?', while the words sounded surprised, Anubis' expression was expectant.

'Greetings, Father.', Sphynx's voice sounded rough as they spoke. 'Hello, Mother.', a small pause. 'It seems to have been the right choice to heed the gods warning and to set out towards Emporer's Wake.'

Anubis gave a slow nod towards their son. 'So it seems. As much as it saddens me to go against an old friend, we must prepare to subdue Luminax no matter the cost and prevent any casualties.'
Anubis approached the platform once more with Sphynx following closely behind, stretching their wings out as far as possible to catch the attention of the citizens, which turned to face Anubis, all still very shaken up.

'Citizens of Emporer's Wake!', Anubis began in a loud, assertive, yet respectful tone. 'All of you must already be aware, that this loud roar was no coincidence. The Emporer Luminax has finally awakened from its slumber, but fear not! We shall overcome this challenge TOGETHER!'

'Those who cannot fight, I ask of you to remain calm and follow my spouse Anput out of Emporer's Wake, into a safer location.', Anubis gestured towards their spouse who was already gathering up hatchlings, younger dragons and the elderly. The warriors among you, I encourage to join Sphynx's and my side into battle! We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail, until this region is safe once more and Luminax is subdued in yet another deep and long slumber!', Anubis and Sphynx lift their swords from their sheath into the air. An even louder tone boomed through the air: 'Who is with us!?', the crowd burst into a war cry as the warriors followed Anubis' lead and they too, pointed their swords and spears to the sky.

'To battle!'
United, they head towards Luminax direction, ready to fight the WIND element of the Emporer.

Anubis closed the scroll of todays question and
did not hesitate to answer.
'The most difficult
part of being a leader, is to be wise and responsible.

Wisdom aids you and provides you with the ability to make the right choice, do the right thing that needs to be done.
There is rarely any day with no conflict. And sometimes,
a ruler must sacrifice their own well-being or comfort, in
order to come to an agreeable solution that benefits most
of the folk. I say most, since it is near impossible to please everybody.
', they sigh at their last sentence.
'A Leader also needs to be ready to take responsibility for
their actions. Every action bears conesequences, and each consequence must be dealt with appropriately.'

Decision making comes with experience.'

What is the most difficult part about being a leader?

...everything?
In all seriousness, I think the hardest part is carrying that kind of responsibility. Being a leader isn't just about bossing people around, it's about taking responsibility for others and being aware of the consequences of one's actions. The thing that sets a leader apart from bosses is the degree to which they are willing to work with others and take that responsibility.

He was looking forward to hearing what the others had to say. @hinumi One of the first dragons to speak up was a pure and compassionate looking pearlcatcher. She looked nervous fixing her outfit all over but not uncomfortable to be in the center of attention, which made Laith smile. After listening to the speech, the smile turned to concern. He hurried to find the dragon in the crowd. Word has spread wide and far and many dragons turn to the blessings of the sacred well, taking the water bucket after bucket. DAY THREE

Bane heard the roar, saw the confusion, and took a deep breath. It was the first thing he did before any battle. His own small ritual to steady himself. Then, using a few precious seconds, he went over the facts. Sunbeam guards had arrived and promptly left, there were capable warriors near him, and there were citizens. Everyone knew how to run. Not everyone knew how to fight.

"Those who find themselves capable, with me! We'll go to Emperor's Wake and fight. Those who cannot fight, help the needy take shelter." Bane lifted his chin as his commanding voice spread over those within his vicinity. The obelisk saw that, in the confusion, a few dragons were listening and spread his words. A messy divide fell over the crowd, and he saw those of the warrior-type come loping towards him.

He didn't waste anymore time. When he was sure he had enough dragons to lead a squad (and the way, for any straggling fighters), Bane launched into the air.

"The Sunbeam Guards have already organized three squads for each of the heads," he called to the other dragons, praying to Windsinger that his voice could be heard over the wind, "When we get there, fighting's liable to already be taking place. Choose a head and stick with it. Help those around you."

Bane knew which head he would go for -- the Wind one. Though he hated trying to fight one of Windsinger's own, he knew that the deity was more likely to provide guidance as opposed to the other heads. Yet, another problem nagged at him. As a Vanguard leader, he knew how to handle and organize a squad. But it was up to the rest of the warriors if they wanted to follow his directions. Gemstone decides against that. Better safe than sorry; his skills are of more use making sure that citizens don't get hurt. He bounds off to do just that.

DAILY QUESTION 3

The hardest part about being a leader? You have to be responsible for any outcome. You don't just get to claim your wild victories, your thrilling successes and your bravest of accomplishments. Every defeat is your burden to bear as well. When something goes wrong, you will be the one they point to. Whether history paints you as the victor or the sorry loser, it will paint you and you alone as such.
