I always try to keep my hopes down because 9 times outta 10 they're just bug fixes/improvements.
But still, a little part of me always wishes for a new dragon..

I'm really excited for that too! I've always loved the world of Sornieth, and am raring to see it in greater detail (or updated to add regions implied by some of the newer venues, like giving Lightning a savannah near the border.)
That said, [I]maybe[/I] something will come out? It'll have been a week since the last release, which is prime ground for something new, but we had a gene release two weeks ago (so I'm not expecting anything major), and Rockbreaker's is starting on the 24th, so we might not see a news update until then.

Did you notice that they randomly increased the lair cap a week ago? That might have been prep for the map update, since we're getting new lair locations unlocked through expansions.
I also noticed that the timing of the maintenance is much later than usual... possibly because they want all staff to be awake/online? And as @
Laluzi mentioned, it's been a week since the last update so the timing fits for another update.
