"None Yet."

Born into a clan in the Windsinger's domain, Marius grew up with a thirst for knowledge cultivated by his elders. Excited by knowledge, Marius would often sit in the clan's library, reading whatever he could. Eventually, having read everything in the small library, he decided it was time to move on. Where to was the question. While the Lightweaver was known for seeking the truth, Marius was drawn to the Arcanist's realm due to the boundary-pushing research of its members.
He joined a small clan in the Star Wood Strand, helping to gather books to fill their fledgling library. As the books began to amass, Marius stopped travelling as often and began spending more and more time holed up in the library, copying old manuscripts so as not to risk losing the information.

Over time, Marius began to find himself being pulled out of his shell, the clan pushing him to travel. When he one day joined Apollo in travelling to a small clan in the Lightweaver's Domain, he realized that there was more to being a scholar than simple rote memorization and collection. Returning to the Eodasura clan, Marius began working to try to put more of his knowledge to use, teaching others what he had learned and applying some of the theories to the clan's projects. Although he sometimes was wrong, Marius vowed to learn from his mistakes and get better. He quickly realized that for all his knowledge he did not have the skills to carry out his ideas. He was soon asking for help from those who knew more.

As time passed, he began to notice his clan falling apart, dragons beginning to leave. Marius began to worry, fearing for what might happen as others continued to emigrate. Gathering his belongings, he was soon travelling with Apollo and Mesopotamia to the same clan he had visited so many years ago. Having had a change of heart since his last visit, instead of starting a new library he began working on teaching others what he knew, working to help grow the clan. He prided himself on being one of the first to suggest a better method of agriculture, helping the clan to make more food to support its growing size. He was excited by Danu's arrival, excited to learn more techniques from her. When the clan library opened, he began stepping back slightly, beginning to write his own books with the knowledge he'd obtained from actually experiencing life over the last few years.

____It wasn't long into his stay when he met Nymphae. The fae caught his interest with her talent and he was excited to get to know her better. While he had had dalliances before, he felt that she was the one. They had a couple of nests together, Marius doting on his children, even when they left to serve the Lightweaver. One child, Bronwyn, left for another clan. Marius was surprised when his grandson returned to the clan. He was unsure of how to approach his grandson, instead hanging back around the periphery, occasionally sending anonymous gifts. As much as he has dedicated himself to her happiness, even Marius has to admit (only sometimes, on bad days) that she does not seem as devoted to him as he is to her.

____When it comes to his clanmates, Marius has lots of friends but not one particular friend. Marius feels close to Apollo and Mesopotamia, having shared memories of their previous clan. While Aodh is also from Clan Eodasura, the other's position in the clan has left Marius wary of him. While he tends to get along with most people, Marius has a distrust of those in authority which also means he is distrustful of the clan leader, her heir, and the head knight.

____Marius enjoys reading but when he has free time he enjoys looking at art, an interest which was cultivated by his relationship with Nymphae. Aside from paintings, Marius also enjoys written art. In fact, he has started writing a book of his own, one he hopes will change the world some day. Even though he is very modest about his own abilities, his writing is actually pretty good (even though no one else has read it before).

____Name Origin: Marius is a Roman family name which was derived either from Mars, the name of the Roman god of War, or else from the Latin root mas, maris meaning "male". Gaius Marius was a famous Roman consul of the 2nd century B.C.E. Sine the start of the Christian era, it has occasionally been used as a masculine form of Maria.

I picked Marius initially for his looks, I absolutely adore the old school wizard vibes he gives off with the books and the hat and the gembond matching with the gold in his accents like he's got little flecks of space rocks or star dust on him is just adorable. This goes for Marius but applies to most if not all of your dragons, your lore is really concise and captivating and gives a clear picture in my head of all of your dragons and their backstories without overloading me with information. I love this well travelled scholar. Serpenta

Wah! I love seeing super old dragons, and Marius is way up there in terms of age, nearly a decade! What drew me to him initially was actually his very Classique wizard look. The dark blues and golds, that beautiful starmap accent. Something about the eclectic, colorfully bound books really pulls him together and adds some more whimsy. His scene choice is perfect too, like, that's his library! He's sorting all his reasearch materials! If you ever wanted to add to him, the wise whiskers and a pair of gold glasses frames would be like theee finishing details of his look. osteophagy
